Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López rejected and lamented the ambush of a military commission in Amazonas state, in which three members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) were killed and 10 others wounded.

"The FANB has been viciously and cowardly attacked by armed paramilitary groups that intend to operate in our territory. It has been attacked as a result of an arrest of a group of people, of 9 people, that occurred Amazonas, "said Padrino Lopez in an address to the country on Monday.

The minister criticized the presence of armed groups in the country. "In Venezuela there is no place for armed groups, outside the law, of paramilitary groups and we strongly reject the inability of the Colombian State not to control their groups, their violence and their drug trafficking."

He asserted that there are several events that occurred on the border with Colombia, which are the product of the "internal war" of that country.

"The Colombian state has not been able to resolve over more than 60 years of internal war and that everything places Venezuela as a victim of military aggression by violent groups that intend to pass by," he said.

He noted that they have made various requests to the government of Colombia to dialogue. "Irresponsibly the government of Colombia has refused to discuss the issues that are common. It is necessary to communicate. However we have not been able to talk with the Colombian authorities, it has not been possible, "he said.
