El autobús del futuro da sus primeros pasos en China

The TEB-1, a high vehicle that allows the passage of cars and motorcycles under the cabin, conducted its first test trip yesterday. The public transport system, halfway between the subway and the bus, successfully completed its first journey in the Chinese city of Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province.

The test, which took place in a simulated traffic circuit served to check the braking system and power consumption of the peculiar transport system.

The high transit bus (ETB in its acronym in English) came to reach ten kilometers per hour, raising passions among the audience who attended the event. The vehicle developed by Teb tech aims to decongest traffic in large cities.

Bai Zhiming, chairman of tech Teb said during the meeting that "is expected to be a new long distance race next year."

Engineer optimistic forecasts coincide with the rapid development of the project; It has only been four months since the company submit a scale model in the international high-tech exhibition in Beijing.

First road:

The TEB-1 can accommodate up to 300 passengers and offers a space of just over two meters high to cars passing below his cabin. The transport system manufactured in China promises the same functions as the metro (punctuality, speed etc.), but for one fifth of the price of any underground.

The media around the world have put the focus on the new, and somewhat bizarre, Chinese invention. However, in the discussion of public transport, most experts are betting on more simple ideas like offering free services, bet on bike or software implementation related to big data to improve efficiency.
