DaNGeROuS KiLLeR Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 The all-new 2017 Jaguar XE compact sports sedan arrives at Jaguar dealerships this spring with a starting price of $35,895, including a $995 destination charge. The rear-wheel-drive XE competes with the Audi A4/S4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The base 2017 Jaguar XE 25t is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 240 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque. Jaguar says the fuel economy leader is the 2017 XE 20d, a diesel model with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine. It produces 180 hp and 318 lb-ft of torque. The diesel version starts at $37,395, including shipping. The EPA has not announced fuel economy numbers on the XE. The range-topping 2017 XE 35t is priced at $42,695, including shipping. It is equipped with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine that generates 340 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. Jaguar did not release pricing on the all-wheel-drive models. It said additional information on the XE will be available closer to launch. The XE features the new Jaguar in Control Touch infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen. All 2016-'17 Jaguar models feature standard Jaguar EliteCare, the automaker's new 5-year/60,000-mile vehicle care and warranty program. Edmunds says: The 2017 Jaguar XE is poised to be a strong contender in a crowded field, with an affordable price tag and the added benefit of being the first Jaguar in the U.S. to offer a diesel engine.
