  2. Concepts were key at this year’s international mobile trade show, including a few devices that will likely never see the light of day. https://qz.com/mwc-2024-mobile-world-congress-announcements-tech-gadge-1851293992 If you like vaporware and looking at phones and gadgets you’ll never own, then Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the trade show for you. This week’s annual menagerie revealed new devices like the TCL Nxtpaper 14 and a working model of Motorola’s rolling phone display. Other brands—namely Samsung—used the venue to tease us about a product that likely won’t see the light of day until much later this year. We also caught a glimpse of Lenovo’s new see-through ThinkBook concept laptop. The industry seems primarily focused on improving what’s already out on the market, but you can see that concepts were king at this year’s trade show. Check out the slideshow above to see some of the more exciting news from MWC 2024 this week.
  3. https://www.wired.com/story/apple-wwdc-2024-what-to-expect/ Conference has always been the event where the company announces new software capabilities for its devices. However, over the last few years, the software news out of WWDC has been upstaged by hardware announcements. Rather than focusing on apps at recent WWDCs, Apple has used the gathering as an opportunity to unveil its M-series Apple Silicon chips, next-generation Macs, and most recently, the Apple Vision Pro mixed-reality headset. But this year, Apple pushed its hardware announcements out ahead of WWDC. In April, the company launched the M3-powered MacBook Air (13-inch and 15-inch). In May, it released an all-new M4 chip, along with the latest iPad Pro and iPad Air. With no additional hardware expected at the conference this year, it looks like WWDC will once again focus strictly on new software features—specifically new artificial intelligence capabilities for iPhones, iPads, and Macs. We'll find out when WWDC 2024 kicks off with a keynote address at 10 am Pacific time on Monday, June 10. The Apple WWDC 2024 keynote will be livestreamed on Monday, June 10, starting at 1 pm Eastern, 10 am Pacific. You can watch it via Apple's site or on its official YouTube channel. We'll be running a WWDC live blog right here on WIRED. Be sure to join us approximately half an hour before the keynote starts to follow along with our live updates from the event.
  4. https://www.techradar.com/computing/computex-2024 Computex 2024 took place in Taipei, Taiwan from Tuesday, June 4, until Friday, June 7, 2024 – which means this year's show has ended. TechRadar was on the ground this year reporting on all the latest news, announcements, and product showcases from industry titans like AMD, Nvidia, Asus, MSI, and many more. On this page, you'll find all the latest news, hands-on, and analysis, so bookmark this page and catch all the latest news and previews. Computex 2024 officially kicked off on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, and ran until Friday, June 7, 2024. Unlike Computex 2023, the conference opened with a keynote from AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su, who has traditionally opened Computex events in the past, although she was bumped last year for Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. Qualcomm and Intel also had major keynote addresses as well, and unsurprisingly the AI PC theme that we've seen throughout 2024 has also been a big theme at Computex 2024. Beyond that, we expect other manufacturers to announce new products from companies big and small such as Asus, Acer, AMD, Intel, Gigabyte, MSI, Nvidia, and many more throughout the week. There's plenty of exciting news that came out of Taipei, especially revolving around AI PCs and software. We've also seen tons of other hardware and software announcements and demos, new accessories and toys to look forward to, and a host of other wonderful and sometimes weird finds.
