  1. A group of enthusiasts are proposing a new set of graphics instructions designed for 3D graphics and media processing. These new instructions are built on the RISC-V base vector instruction set. They will add support for new data types that are graphics specific as layered extensions in the spirit of the core RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA). Vectors, transcendental math, pixel, and textures and Z/Frame buffer operations are supported. It can be a fused CPU-GPU ISA. The group is calling it the RV64X as instructions will be 64-bit long (32 bits will not be enough to support a robust ISA). Why now? The world has plenty of GPUs to choose from, why this? Because, says the group, commercial GPUs are less effective at meeting unusual needs such as dual-phase 3D frustum clipping, adaptable HPC (arbitrary bit depth FFTs), hardware SLAM. They believecollaboration provides flexible standards, reduces the 10 to 20 man-year effort otherwise needed, and will help with cross-verification to avoid mistakes. The team says their motivation and goals are driven by the desire to create a small, area-efficient design with custom programmability and extensibility. It should offer low-cost IP ownership and development, and not compete with commercial offerings. It can be implemented in FPGA and ASIC targets and will be free and open source. The initial design will be targeted to low-power microcontrollers. It will be Khronos Vulkan-compliant, and over time support other APIs (OpenGL, DirectX and others). The open source movement that transformed software development is gaining traction among hardware developers. Early efforts centered on the RISC-V architecture are leading the way. We explore the promise and the pitfalls of open hardware development in our upcoming Open Source Special Project. The final hardware will be a RISC-V core with a GPU functional unit. To the programmer it will look like a single piece of hardware with 64-bit long instructions coded as scalar instructions. The programming model is an apparent SIMD, that is, the compiler generates SIMD from prefixed scalar opcodes. It will include variable-issue, predicated SIMD backend, vector front-end, precise exceptions, branch shadowing and much more. There won’t be any need for RPC/IPC calling mechanism to send 3D API calls to/from unused CPU memory space to GPU memory space and vice-versa, says the team. And it will be available as 16-bit fixed point (ideal for FPGAs), as well as 32-bit floating point (ASICs or FPGAs). The design will employ the Vblock format (from the Libre GPU effort): It is a bit-like VLIW (only not really) A block of instructions is pre-fixed with register tags which give extra context to scalar instructions within the block Sub-blocks include: vector length, swizzling, vector/width overrides and predication. All this is added to scalar opcodes There are no vector opcodes (and no need for any) In the vector context, it goes like this: if a register is used by a scalar opcode, and the register is listed in the vector context, vector mode is activated Activation results in a hardware-level for-loop issuing multiple contiguous scalar operations (instead of just one). Implementers are free to implement the loop in any fashion they desire: SIMD, multi-issue, single-execution. The design will employ scalars (8-, 16-, 24- and 32-bit fixed and floats), as well as transcendentals (sincos, atan, pow, exp, log, rcp, rsq, sqrt, etc.). The vectors (RV32-V) will support 2-4 element (8-, 16- or 32-bits/element) vector operations, along with specialized instructions for a general 3D graphics rendering pipeline for points, pixels, texels (essentially special vectors) XYZW points (64- and 128-bit fixed and floats) RGBA pixels (8-, 16-, 24- and 32-bit pixels) UVW texels (8-, 16-bits per component) Lights and materials (Ia, ka, Id, kd, Is, ks…) Matrices will be 2 × 2, 3 × 3, and 4 × 4 matrices will be supported as a native data type along with memory structures to support them for attribute vectors and will be essentially represented in a 4 × 4 matrix. Among the advantages of fused CPU-GPU ISA is the ability to implement a standard graphics pipeline in microcode, provide support for custom shaders and implement ray-tracing extensions. It also supports vectors for numerical simulations with 8-bit integer data types for AI and machine learning. Custom rasterizers can be implemented such as splines, SubDiv surfaces and patches. The design will be flexible enough that it can implement custom pipeline stages, custom geometry/pixel/frame buffer stages, custom tessellators and custom instancing operations.
  2. At a glance, it would be easy to mistake Razer's Huntsman V2 Analog for the Huntsman Elite, one of the best gaming keyboards with unique opto-mechanical key switches that work really well. However, it is a very different animal. Underneath the skin are analog optical key switches for a level of input designed to emulate an analog joystick or gamepad. Put another way, these are pressure sensitive keys, meaning they can discern the difference between a light press and a full mash of the key, and anything in between. In contrast, a typical keyboard just passes along information when a key is pressed and calls it a day. The key switches are based on Razer's optical switches, which employ a light beam. Instead of simply detecting a disruption to the beam and registering a key press. However, the Huntsman V2 Analog takes things a step further by determining the amount of light that passes through the stem, to recognize varying levels of force. There are different ways this can be translated to games. One of the most obvious is controlling the speed of your character—a light key press could result in a slow walk, while pressing the key all the way down could make your character sprint across the battlefield, without also having to press a secondary key (like Shift+W). This is done by using Razer's Synapse software to bind certain keys to standard joystick functions. W for joystick up, for example, and so forth. We've had a chance to play with the Huntsman V2 Analog for a little while now, but sadly the reality isn't currently living up to the promise. And, as is so often the case, it's not the hardware, it's the software limitations. Full support for being able to use the Huntsman V2 Analog as a pseudo controller, as well as a keyboard and mouse option, is only really available in games which have been coded to support it. You might get lucky in others, but we've had experiences with single player games where because Windows hasn't prioritized the specific version of the Huntsman we're using properly (it exists as a keyboard in Windows and as both a joystick and controller input) it doesn't register the analog key presses at all. Part of the joy of PC gaming is almost endless backwards compatibility, but if we're not confident our keyboard will always work flawlessly in whatever game we want to play, we're probably not going to care about such luxuries as analog key switches.
  3. 261 horsepower, a manual gearbox and all-wheel drive for a city car. The GR Yaris is probably the ultimate sports car of our time. And perhaps the ultimate “rally car” of our era. The machine opposite had a thousand reasons for not seeing the light of day. Think about increasingly stringent emissions standards. At the cost of developing a new engine. Or the relaxation of homologation constraints in rallying by 2022. However, in some Japanese office, Mr. Akio Toyoda, CEO of the automotive giant, gave the green light to the production of 25,000 copies of this heir to the Lancia Delta HF, Ford Escort Cosworth, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Subaru Impreza GT and other Toyota Celica GT-Four. The only version of the Yaris with 3-doors , this GR only shares three exterior elements with its general public version: the optics, the mirrors and the “shark” antenna closing the roof. In molded carbon, it is also lowered by 9 cm in its rear part , reducing drag and clearing the rear spoiler. The difference with the (excellent) 116h is such that this Yaris GR is assembled in Motomashi, Japan, rather than in Valenciennes. The same production line once gave birth to the Lexus LFA, a breathtakingly sounding V10 supercar. SUMMARY Notice Technical sheet Unlike many current pseudo-sports, the interior of the machine is more ... normal . Unsurprisingly, we find the dashboard of the Yaris hybrid. The steering wheel and headrests bear the words “Gazoo Racing” and a small plate located on the central console certifies the origin of the machine. Pleasant to the eye and to the touch, the semi-bucket seats do not offer sufficient lateral supportwith regard to the lateral Gs that the passengers can collect. At the front, the driver and his co-driver are also sitting a bit high. Difficult to access, the rear seats are penalized by the falling pavilion: plan for stiff necks for anyone measuring more than 1.70 meters, even if the knees have an honorable space. With its sluggishness and 16-BIT console graphics, the infotainment screen isn't this Yaris' strong point either. Disclosure: This is the last nasty remark in this article. Toyota GR Yaris Our “Premium Pack” version provides some comfort equipment: head-up display, integrated GPS, JBL audio system and parking radar. The “Track” version - soon to be tested in Auto Moto - cuts off this assistance but adds arguments in the eyes of circuit enthusiasts: a Torsen limited-slip differential, a reinforced anti-roll bar and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. We will be satisfied here with a harder Dunlop SP Sport mount. Strangely, the trunk tells us more than the interior about the purpose of this car. As in a race car, the battery is placed at the stern, alongside the repair kit and the triangle. This reduces the cargo volume to 174 liters , a little more than a cabin suitcase. Tailgate open, we see above all what effort has been made on the mass of the machine: linings and plastics are reduced to what is strictly necessary. Aluminum doors and hood or frameless windows reduce the weight to 1,280 kg when dry. Or less than a Lotus Evora. The Renault Mégane RS weighs 150 kg more than the GR. The addition is three quintals for a Ford Focus RS. The front end is always on target From the first corner, the pilot is overwhelmed. With less than 4 meters in length and its wheels located at all four corners, the GR Yaris turns effortlessly. First thanks to precise and straightforward management, with its 2.36 lock-to-lock turns. Electric assistance does not interfere with information coming from a front axle which is always on target. A slightly dry foot lift at the start of a curve allows the machine to turn as naturally as possible. And when a pin shows up, the rider can pull on the good old handbrake. This blocks the rear axle and makes it possible to pivot like the Ogier-Ingrassia crew in a lace of Monte-Carlo. Abundantly reinforced, the hull allows the MacPherson combo up front - reinforced double wishbones at the rear to work calmly. The Yaris maintains an acceptable level of comfort on the backs of donkeys and cuts out any idea of body roll in curves at high speed . The electronically controlled all-wheel drive also optimizes its trajectory. The driving modes are chosen via a selector placed at the bottom of the central console, next to a 12-volt outlet. If you place the control on "normal", 60% of the torque goes to the front axle and 40% goes to the rear axle. The distribution evolves to 50/50 in track mode and 30/70 in sport mode. On the road and in the dry, the difference is only a grain of salt.

  5. The pandemic has drastically reduced the number of flights, and this has a direct effect on pilots. Many of them complain that they have lost their skills and ended up making childish mistakes. The data appear in a report by the Aviation Safety Agency from NASA, based on information given by pilots under the protection of anonymity. According to these reports, some did not know how to program the on-board computer, and others were overwhelmed during the turmoil. A pilot even confessed that he forgot to ask permission from the control tower for landing. The specialists explained that the pilots need a number of flight hours to keep their skills and focus on the flight of the plane. "It was my first flight in almost 3 months," one pilot wrote in June, explaining why he forgot to activate the critical anti-freeze system. "I was too confident that I would remember everything, that it was like a second nature," the pilot wrote, according to CNN . Fortunately, the flight went smoothly. The idea behind NASA's reporting system is that error recognition allows for analysis and improvements that increase aviation safety. From the report are removed from the information that could allow the identification of pilots. "In order to prepare for a flight after a period of inactivity, I should have spent more time reviewing my ability," admits a pilot. Airlines and the US Federal Aviation Administration have systems in place that can require pilots to retain their skills. The pilot had not flown for more than 3 months, approaching the time when federal regulations would have required him to do additional training, in force for pilots who are not active enough for a period of 90 days. The problem, says aviation safety expert Peter Goelz, is that air tragedies often occur because of a series of events that begin with a simple mistake. "These seemingly trivial types of errors can lead to horrific events," said Goelz, CNN's aviation analyst and former director of the National Transportation Safety Committee, which investigates plane crashes.

  8. Vaccination against Covid-19 is one of the best ways we have now to end this pandemic. On the other hand, after we are vaccinated, we need to remain vigilant and maintain compliance with rules to protect the community and limit the spread of the virus. Unfortunately, vaccination does not come, at least for now, with the possibility of returning to life before the pandemic. CNN offers answers to a series of questions about how we should act after we have been immunized. When will we be able to give up the face mask? As many experts have previously explained, vaccination protects us from developing severe forms of Covid-19 disease, but there is still not enough data to show that a vaccinated person cannot transmit the virus if they have come in contact with it. By wearing a mask, we make sure that we protect those who have not yet been vaccinated or who for health reasons cannot be vaccinated with any of the sera currently used for immunization. Vaccines also provide 95% protection in the cases of Pfizer and Moderna, which means that there is a very small but real chance that the vaccine will not work in a small number of people. In this case, a person who has been vaccinated and thinks he is immunized could get sick very easily, so we need to be vigilant to keep the mask as an essential accessory for a while, until we have permanently defeated the pandemic. Also, the new variants of coronavirus, which seem to be more and more numerous, could cause problems for vaccines, which means that we must take equal care of our health even after vaccination, and the mask represents an essential tool to be able to defend ourselves in the future. Can we meet friends and family if we have been vaccinated? Experts say this depends on the situation of the people we meet. In general, the safest interactions are between vaccinated people, outdoors. If friends or family members have already been vaccinated with the second dose, then the risks are significantly reduced, especially if the visit takes place outdoors. If we want to be even safer, then we can quarantine for a period of 10 days before the meeting, to avoid any additional risk. As for unvaccinated people, then we and other people, even vaccinated, can be a risk to them. Vaccination does not involve a diminution of responsibility, we must be aware that we can still transmit the virus to others. Responsibility involves wearing a mask and physical distance even between two vaccinated people - based on the information we have at the moment, vaccinated people can transmit the virus to each other and then bring it home and transmit it to an unvaccinated person. Can we go to the restaurant or to sporting / cultural events without any worries? Again, it is very important to emphasize that vigilance should not be reduced even after vaccination. Indoor restaurants can quickly become foci of virus transmission, especially because no one can wear a mask when eating, so the ability to transmit the virus through drops during socialization is maximum. By frequenting restaurants and giving up protection we can quickly become "silent spreaders" of the virus - our body is able to prevent infection because it is vaccinated, but the virus can still be transmitted from the mucous membranes. Things are a bit simpler in terms of open spaces and outdoors, because there the ability to transmit the virus is much weaker. Once vaccinated, a concert or outdoor sporting event should be safe if the rules of physical distance are followed and if everyone still wears a face mask. Crowded encounters where the mask cannot be worn and where physical distancing is difficult to implement should be avoided.
  9. Hitman 3 is a spectacular finish to the World of Assassination trilogy: "A magnificent videogame and a perfect swansong for Agent 47," we said in our 90% review. It's so good, it's got Fraser damply daydreaming about getting offed with a banana. It's just that good. The only thing marring the game, in fact, is IO Interactive's promise that Hitman 3 players would be able to import their Hitman 2 ownership, unlocking those maps at no extra charge. This worked without issue on consoles, but turned out to be trickier than expected on PC because Hitman 3 is an Epic Store exclusive while Hitman 2 is only on Steam. IO first tried to walk back the promise by offering a Hitman 2 "Access Pass" at a discount, and when that failed to fly (big surprise) said that it would figure out some way of ensuring that the initial promise of free access to Hitman 2 locations could be kept. An important update to our @HITMAN 3 Pre-launch guide: https://t.co/Buj596UQnE pic.twitter.com/UVpNAQGdVmJanuary 17, 2021 The downside is that the figuring-out process would take some time, meaning that the ability to import Hitman 2 locations would be rolled out "in the coming weeks," after Hitman 3's launch. It's been out for more than two weeks now and there's still no sign of that functionality, but a new update to the "Known Issues" list on the Hitman forums says that it will be released by the end of this month."Whilst we’ve been busy launching Hitman 3, we’ve also been working on the promised solution for allowing PC players to import locations that they already own into Hitman 3 on Epic," the update says. "We’ve got that solution worked out and it’s currently being tested and verified from all angles to make it as robust as possible. In terms of timing, it’s definitely a case of sooner rather than later. Even with the longest estimates we’ve looked at, the solution will be fully rolled out before the end of February. We’ll keep you updated with the next steps." There's no indication as to how it will work, but hopefully it will be less a hassle than the process required to import your progress from Hitman 2. IO also said that it's aware of three other issues currently plaguing the game, and is working on fixes for those as well. Players are unable to reach full mastery in a location due to losing XP, but challenges still marked as complete after experiencing a server disconnect. - Status: Tracked. This issue is on our radar. Players cannot access the Requiem Pack - Status: We’re aware and working on a solution. Players are not awarded a trophy/achievement despite completing the requirements - Status: We’re tracking the ones that are reported to us and investigating a fix.
  10. As you might have already known, 2020 has been a year like no other. COVID 19 has in a way forced a lot of companies and organizations to review their digital strategies, and at the same time manage new technical challenges. This happened beyond the implications of the health crisis. Because of the situation we’re in, software development services are now more important for a company than they’ve ever been. Now companies more than ever rely on the expertise of software developers to help them improve their customer experiences and performances. This being said, as 2020 comes to an end (thank god), the year 2021, promises new innovations and trends, making it more competitive and starting a new era. In this article, I will try to walk you through some of those trends which I believe will influence the software development Related Content: mentor How Younger Workers Can Mentor Older Ones And Move Companies Forward Native Apps will dominate the market As it is now, Native Application development is unparalleled, but going forward, people can expect this trend to dominate the software development services. These services are meant to run only on devices that are specific, for example only on smartphones. Native apps usually provide powerful performance and better user experience compared to hybrid apps, given the fact that they are designed only for specific devices. It doesn’t look like the native app will go down any time soon, definitely not in 2021 or in the near future, given the fact that the po[CENSORED]rity of iOS and Android operating systems is growing each day. Cloud technology is here to stay The cloud services industry only in 2020 generated more than 40$ billion in revenue. Did you know that in 2020, the cloud services industry generated almost $40 billion in revenue, Now cloud service’s market value is 266.5 billion, which is a 17% growth from 2019, crazy growth in one year. In the software development industry, it is a well-established fact that the big money is in cloud services. In 2021, cloud vendors such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft will continue to invest big money in cloud technology. The reason behind this is simple. The number of companies using cloud services is quite enormous, and the number of companies that will start using cloud services is even bigger. It doesn’t matter the size of the organization, big, medium, or small, they all at some point will be moving to cloud services. The reason behind cloud technology’s success so far is that it offers flexibility, scalability, and security that will prevent the threat of ever-present hackers that could lead to your organization’s security breach. 5G Technology will be unparalleled At the beginning of 2020, 5G technology made a lot of waves, undeservedly when it was accused as the cause of the coronavirus outbreak. This rumor was disapproved by the world’s biggest scientists and has been left behind in 2020. Software developers can expect that the 5G tech to return as a trend, but now for all the right reasons. 5G technology is roughly 100 times faster than 4G networks. The tech experts predict that in 1.4 billion devices it will lead to data transmissions. Virtual reality, augmented reality and other 4k video streaming are the reasons why 5G tech was specifically designed. Software developers will find this technology useful, especially if they are interested in creating designs and features that for a business will enhance their performance. Investment in Artificial Intelligence will increase We cannot deny the impact of Artificial Intelligence in the software development service, it will offer so many more options. Artificial Intelligence-based analytics are already being used by the tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Apple. Now the AI is progressing at a very fast pace and in 2021 it will be better in decision making, delivering relevant user experience details, etc. Final thoughts Software Development will be dominating the tech industry in 2021 and beyond, that is for sure. And businesses that pay attention more to trends will be moving towards this industry or incorporate this industry in their business somehow.
  11. The prying open of the hardware stack has begun in earnest, but the precise path this complex process will take has yet to be determined. Market forces, limits of scaling and the emergence of disruptive technologies like artificial intelligence have fueled the rise of open source hardware. Still, as this EE Times Special Project demonstrates, physical, legal and economic barriers remain as a fledgling group of open source advocates and a handful of commercial vendors seek to democratized hardware design. Those proponents and early adopters have focused their energies on reduced instruction set computing, the foundational RISC architecture that emerged from the University of California at Berkeley in the 1980s. RISC has seeded the beginnings of an ecosystem extending beyond processor technology to include open interconnects, network and, ultimately, open computing. As with open source software, key chip makers are eyeing the open hardware movement. Some perhaps with trepidation as semiconductor scaling runs out of steam and monster GPUs and CPUs accelerators approach the end of the line, giving way to new heterogeneous devices and chiplets. The open source movement that transformed software development is gaining traction among hardware developers. Early efforts centered on the RISC-V architecture are leading the way. We explore the promise and the pitfalls of open hardware development in our upcoming Open Source Special Project. Indeed, the nascent open source hardware movement can glean lessons from their software brethren. Over the last several years, in examples of what critics described as “enlightened self-interest,” behemoths such as Microsoft (GitHub) and IBM (Red Hat) have snapped up key sectors of the open source software movement. If and when open source hardware development reaches critical mass, might the same acquisition spree repeat itself, potentially stymying hardware innovation? Industry observers are divided on the impact of pending deals such as Nvidia’s acquisition of chip IP vendor Arm Ltd. would have on the ambitious RISC-V project. “There are concerns expressed that Nvidia’s competitors would be alarmed and maybe move to RISC-V—which Nvidia also has a stake in. But that would be stupid, and Nvidia is not stupid,” said graphics industry analyst Jon Peddie. Regardless of how antitrust and other issues play out, the open computing ecosystem continues to expand. Beyond the RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA), groups like the Open Compute Project are driving innovations ranging from open interconnects for emerging chiplets to AI hardware-software design collaboration. Indeed, the group’s 2021 strategic plan concludes that a “a co-design approach is needed to allow for simultaneous work on all the [hardware] and [software] bottlenecks which can affect the performance….” The growing complexity of machine learning workloads that dominate enterprise data centers will likely forge closer ties among developers of open code and hardware. We examine these and other issues on our Open Source Special Project. Kevin Krewell, principal analyst at TIRIAS Research, surveys the rise of the RISC architecture and how it underpins much of the open source hardware movement. Indeed, the emergence of the RISC ISA has encouraged open source developers to grab the baton and forge new devices. Analyst Jon Peddie outlines one such project aimed at developing a new, free GPU design dubbed RV64X. Nitan Dahad, EE Times European correspondent and editor-in-chief of embedded.com considers whether the open source hardware movement can duplicate the success of the sprawling Linux ecosystem. He and others conclude the RISC ISA could prove the hardware equivalent of the Linux kernel. As Dahad’s sources explain, however, hardware designers face physical limits that far exceed pushing out the next software release. Contributor John Walko examines how the shift to open hardware such as radio access networks is shaping the deployment of next-generation 5G networks. Meanwhile, EDN Editor-in-Chief Majeed Kamran goes deep into the design details of emerging RISC-V processor designs, concluding that recent progress may foreshadow of new era of open computing. Lastly, we reprise EE Times Editor-in-Chief Junko Yoshida’s interview with Wes McKinney, the brains behind several open source data analytics tools. Among McKinney’s goals is bridging the gap between data science and big data, a chasm that open source hardware can help narrow.
  12. I'm feeling a bout of déjà vu right now, how about you? In October of 2020 I wrote about how Infinity Ward said Warzone's infinite stim exploit had been fixed. Briefly, it's based on a glitch that gives you infinite tactical items (including healing stims) if you throw a grenade, pick it up, die, and then get revived. Rich explains it more fully in his article about how Warzone's infinite stim glitch just keeps recurring after it popped back up again earlier this month. That's in addition to the time it returned in January, and in November before that. The latest set of patch notes are up on Treyarch's website, although with a note that they'll be migrating to Raven Software's site in the future, and they're the team responsible for it. The patch notes begin by mentioning there's a "New fix to remove infinite stim glitch" and that the "Issue stemmed from players getting stuck in throwback state after throwing back a live grenade". But you'd be forgiven for taking that with a grain of salt, given the exploit's recurrences so far. The patch also tweaks match bonus and kill XP in Kingslayer mode to bring it closer to that of Verdansk BR, part of a broader effort to normalize XP across modes. Here are the rest of the changes. 13. A garage in Haute-Savoie has decided to create a rather unusual version of the Dacia Duster, by grafting tracks to a pick-up version. And the result is pretty good! Although we see it very often in town, the Dacia Duster also has quite interesting crossing capacities, as we saw during a previous test, then opposing it to the Suzuki Jimmy. The low-cost SUV had done quite well against the Japanese SUV, proving its great versatility despite its ultra-low price. But some sometimes go further, going so far as to install tracks on their vehicle, for generally very specific uses, in particular for mountain professionals and difficult terrain. In short, it is not really something exceptional, even if it is relatively rare to come across such an example on a daily basis. But a French company wanted to push the vice a little further, this time tackling the pick-up version. Haven't you seen one on the road before? This is normal, because if this body does exist in the vehicle catalog, it is however only available in Romania , its native market. See this post on Instagram A post shared by 4 × 4 Balleydier (@ ballonydier_4x4) The creation you have before your eyes is signed by the company Balleydier , specializing in the purchase and sale of 4X4s and spare parts for them and based in Haute-Savoie. The mechanics in charge of this astonishing project then grafted to the car a specific kit designed by the Romanian company Mudster, composed of four tracks replacing the original wheels. The result is a vehicle raised by several hundredths and with an unusual look to say the least, which is sure to attract the attention of the curious once it is on the road. Note that each of these tracks weighs no less than 111 kilos, while the maximum speed of the car is then limited to 60 km / h. So you will understand, this Dacia DusterAll-terrain pick-up should above all be reserved for use in the mountains and in particular on snow, where it should feel particularly at its ease thus equipped. We don't know about you, but we can't wait to see him in action! Motor unchanged As unusual as it is, this pick-up has not changed its engine, which therefore remains consistent with the version sold in Romania. As a reminder, this version is only available with a single engine, namely a four-cylinder 1.5 liter dCi diesel with 115 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. Note that the Dacia Duster Pick-Up is billed for the equivalent of € 22,500, an amount already relatively high for a model of the brand, to which must be added the price of the track kit, with an approximate value of 14,800 € but also that of the workforce. Suffice to say that it will take around 40,000 € to afford such a vehicle, which meets very specific uses and which should therefore not be sold to the first comer. Anyway, if this Dacia Duster Pickupwith a badass look to say the least you like, Balleydier 4X4 invites you to contact them for a quote or a test, while the final price of the car has not been revealed by the company, as well as the number of copies that it intends to offer.
  14. KOLKATA: Leading smartphone maker Realme is aspiring to become a technology-driven lifestyle brand and will introduce new products in this segment, an official said on Friday. "We want to be known as a technology lifestyle company. We already have some products in the internet of things (IoT) and smart living space and will introduce multiple items in this segment," Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth said at the launch of new X7 series 5G handsets here. The company will also roll out affordable 5G handsets in future, he said. Speaking about disruptions in the market due to COVID-19, Sheth said the supply chain has normalised and demand is back to normal. The company had said 2020 was a "phenomenal year" for it. Realme clocked a 25 per cent growth in smartphone sales at about 19 million units even a quarter was lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "I think the minimum would be nothing less than 25-30 million handsets, that's what we are targeting for 2021," he said, adding that offline sales account for about 40 per cent. The smartphone maker is planning to add 500 new outlets under both franchisee and company-operated models.
  15. Police found the man dead cold and sick, in a makeshift shelter made of cardboard at the Porta Garibaldi station in Milan. At that moment, the police found 1,235 euros in his pocket. In addition to the amounts mentioned, Umberto Quintino Diaco, aged 75, also owned a house in Calabria, as well as two vans for which he had paid up-to-date insurance. Despite having properties, savings and a steady income, Umberto Quintino Diaco chose to live on the streets of Milan. Investigators found out that Umberto had left home at the age of 17 and severed ties with his family. His sister, Chiarina, said that since that day, the man has not shown any signs of life: "I looked for him, but he never wanted to be found." Social services in Milan have repeatedly wanted to take him off the streets and provide him with shelter, but the man refused and asked for only a mailbox, in which investigators found all property documents and bank statements. to the bank. 16. Glover, the software that powers Imogen Heap’s Mi.Mu gloves, is now available to buy as a standalone product. Priced at $159, Glover interprets gestures made in three-dimensional space and can translate them to run a MIDI or OSC controller. The system will even integrate with a number of po[CENSORED]r music-making platforms, including Ableton Live, Analog Lab V and Apple MainStage. The software was originally designed to work with Heap’s gloves, which she envisaged as a way to get “more expressive control of the tech in the studio and on stage.” Since 2010, Heap has worked with researchers at the University of the West of England to refine and develop the program. It is now a po[CENSORED]r tool, used by musicians including Ariana Grande, Chagall and Lula.XYZ. Enabling users to map gestures enables them to play virtual instruments or run a loop station just by pinching their fingers. If you’re curious about how this works in action, watch this video of Heap building a live, looped version of Frou Frou’s Breathe In on stage. Users can also add, for instance, vibrato controls to your open, waving hand, allowing you to incorporate dance into live performances. Until now, you would need to buy a pair of Mi.Mu gloves in order to get access to Glover, something out of the reach for many folks. A pair of Mi.Mus will set you back £2,500 ($3,430), but that’s not the only way you can get anything out of the software. The company has also launched Gliss, a smartphone app which will let you draw patterns on the display which can be translated into sound. More importantly, Glover now works with other motion-sensing platforms including Leap Motion, letting you create a virtual theremin. And hobbyists handy with a sewing needle and microcontroller can make a bare-bones version of the gloves using the BBC’s micro:bit as part of a third-party kit. Even better, the company says that gesture control using a webcam or Genki’s Wave ring, is coming later this year.
  17. The recent SolarWinds hacking incident that left many Fortune-500 companies and US government networks exposed is an interesting cautionary tale for unchecked software and hardware supply chain security vulnerabilities. The highly sophisticated software supply chain attack occurred in the SolarWinds Orion IT monitoring system. This system, used by over 33,000 companies, monitors performance across multiple networks. In early March of 2020, SolarWinds unintentionally sent a certified binary software update that included malicious code to 18,000 clients. The hacked code created a backdoor to companies’ IT systems that allowed even more malware to be installed, allowing the hackers to spy on these companies. The backdoor communicated via HTTP to third-party servers and uses multiple blocklists to identify forensic and anti-virus tools running as processes, services, and drivers. This attack meant that highly confidential information was exposed and could have resulted in complete control of the systems being lost. Although this attack happened through software, hardware and its supply chain are susceptible to comparable attack scenarios. During pre-IC fabrication a backdoor could be inserted at the time of design or within integrated IP. It could even occur during mask or silicon modification. After IC fabrication, malicious logic could find its way in through physical or packaging modifications, side-channel exploits (i.e., power, analog, RF), and even maintenance or upgrade updates. The impact of these attacks on hardware is much more severe than software. With software, the impact can take hours or weeks fix but is usually corrected with a software update. Resolving the hardware may require that the entire IC be redesign and re-fabricated. This effort could take months and the company would suffer a major hit to its reputation and bottom line. OneSpin can mitigate the risks of exploits throughout the hardware lifecycle by thoroughly verifying the absence of vulnerabilities. During IC design and IP integration, trust technology models the implementation, proves the functional correctness of the design and detects weaknesses and vulnerabilities. During fabrication, IC assembly, and packaging, we can formally verify the physical IC to the model in a digital twin scenario. The model can be verified in the system during system integration and updates can be verified in isolation prior to deployment.
  18. A writer says the character is based on one he created for a speculative film pitch called November Renaissance. Activision is facing a copyright infringement suit brought by writer, photographer, and videographer Clayton Haugen, who alleges that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare character Mara is based on a character he created in 2017 for November Renaissance, a story that he hoped to build into a feature film. The lead character in November Renaissance is Cade Janus, a "female vigilante and pariah figure" caught up in near-future corporate warfare directed by "a non-human intelligence" over control of the process of human augmentation. It all sounds very Deus Ex-like, although Haugen said that opting for a woman in the lead role "would distinguish it from an over-saturated market of action and science fiction movies." The project was actually rooted in a successful Kickstarter campaign that ran all the way back in early 2012, although the description of the film in the lawsuit, available via TorrentFreak, is quite a bit different from this early concept: It's a pretty generic B-movie setup overall, but Haugen went all-in on the lead character, hiring someone to portray her and creating a portfolio of photographs of the character decked out with various military props—all of which he says he registered with the US Copyright Office. Haugen pitched his idea to various film studios, and also posted the photos on his website, Instagram, and in a series of calendars. This is where Activision comes into the matter: Haugen claims the publisher copied the photos without his knowledge or permission and used them in a development document for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to illustrate that the game's casting "should be reflective of the makeup of the modern po[CENSORED]tion." It went a step further with the next game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The suit claims that Infinity Ward hired the same model and makeup artist that Haugen used for his Cade Janus photos, had the model's hair done in the same way, posted the Cade Janus photos on a wall at the studio to use as a visual guideline, and when they didn't have "female tactical clothing" to use for the character, "asked the talent to try to get Haugen to lend her the same clothing and props from his Cade Janus Photographs."

  20. On this World Cancer Day, let's dive into the role of nutrition and lifestyle changes in order to reduce the risk of the deadly disease.(Unsplash) HEALTH World Cancer Day: Role of nutrition, lifestyle changes to control cancer People across the globe need to be aware regarding nutrition and other lifestyle changes that can be implemented to help them recover and potentially reduce the risk of the same cancer recurring or a new one developing. ANI , New Delhi [india] PUBLISHED ON FEB 04, 2021 02:03 PM IS People across the globe need to be aware regarding nutrition and other lifestyle changes that can be implemented to help them recover and potentially reduce the risk of the same cancer recurring or a new one developing. World Cancer Day, which is observed to spread awareness, inspire change and reduce the global impact of cancer, is celebrated on February 4, every year. On this World Cancer Day, let's dive into the role of nutrition and lifestyle changes in order to reduce the risk of the deadly disease. Cancer doesn't develop overnight and certain lifestyle changes and foods can help us in preventing the life-threatening disease. Although the crucial role of nutrition on wellbeing was known several hundreds of years ago in ancient healing methods such as traditional Chinese medicine, it often plays a minor role in the modern society. A balanced plant-based diet with limited amounts of fast foods, sugar-sweetened drinks, red meat, and alcohol is recommended for enhancing health. Such a way of life helps to prevent both cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) because of the common risk factors. Although these facts are widely known, the figures are still alarming. Some of the most prevalent forms of cancer in India are caused by poor lifestyle and hygiene practices. For example, excessive smoking causes lung and oral cancer while consuming alcohol is the cause of cancer in the colon, liver, and breast. Dr ArunGiri, Director, Department of Surgical Oncology, Aakash Healthcare, Dwarka spoke to ANI about the role of nutrition and lifestyle changes that can help control cancer. "Tobacco and alcohol-free lifestyle can substantially reduce the cancer burden. Good nutrition aids in preventing cancer. Plant-based diets filled with green, leafy vegetables and lentils, legumes, and fruits provide nutrients as well as dietary fibre," said Dr ArunGiri. A minimum of 25 to 38 grams of dietary fibre is required, which one can get from one fruit a day, along with two cups of vegetables and lentils. One must also avoid processed food and packed fruit juices as they have extra salt and extra sugar, respectively, both key contributors to increasing cancer risk. One must also take care of the oil they use -- mustard oil, olive oil, and rice bran oil are considered good for overall health unless one is allergic to the ingredients. Cancer is also one of the biggest reasons that men and women lose their fertility as the cancer treatment of or around reproductive organs affects their capability. Therefore, a large number of cancer patients were not able to enjoy parenthood in the past. However, with the advancement in reproductive science, cancer patients can seek help from assisted reproductive technology (ART) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) processes to have children after their treatment is over. Dr Gauri Agarwal, IVF and Infertility Specialist, Founder- Seeds of Innocence, shed light on the role of food and nutrition in preparing the recovered cancer patients for parenthood. She said, "Nutrition plays a critical role in preparing the recovered cancer patient for parenthood. A balanced diet including whole grains, legumes, lentils, fruits, eggs, chicken, fish, dairy products such as milk, cheese, and yogurt is a must." "Grains provide carbohydrates, soluble fibre, and B vitamins while meat and pulses provide protein that help build and repair body tissue. Fruits and vegetables provide vitamins and minerals and dairy products provide calcium for better bones," added Dr Gauri. With the advancement in cancer treatment, a lot of patients are now hopeful of normal life after battling the deadly disease and hence do not want to miss out on parenthood. There is not much evidence for the risk of nutrition regarding cancer awareness though trials are going on but maintaining a healthy lifestyle, regular physical exercise, and eating fruits and vegetables are important. Dr PaturiKarunakar Reddy, Consultant - Surgical Oncology, Apollo TeleHealth spoke to ANI about the association between obesity and breast cancer. Reddy said, "Obesity and certain comorbidities like diabetes have been proven risk factors for endometrial cancer and breast cancer. One should avoid tobacco, smoking, and alcohol consumption which are proven risk factors for oral cavity cancer and stomach and breast cancer." One should avoid sunlight exposure, although it is important for the human body and plays a major role in providing vitamin D. However, it is a proven risk factor for skin cancer like squamous cell and basal cell, and melanoma but a good amount of sunscreen could work wonders for the skin. Regarding cancer awareness, there have been screening programs, particularly for breast and cervix which should be encouraged more. Awareness for females above 40 and family history plays an important factor in breast cancer. In conclusion, the paradox with the deadly disease is that a large number of all cancer cases are preventable by following a healthy diet, living a healthy and balanced lifestyle, and being aware of the various symptoms and their treatment.
  21. Meteorologists issued a strong wind orange code on Thursday morning and extended the existing yellow code warning until Friday morning, which was issued for 27 counties until this evening. The first yellow wind code warning is valid until Thursday evening, at 21:00, when the wind will have temporary intensifications in the northwest and center of the country with speeds of 55 ... 60 km / h, and on restricted areas 70 .. .80 km / h. In the mountains, the wind will intensify, with speeds of 70 ... 90 km / h, and especially in the high area, the gusts will exceed 100… 110 km / h, scattering the snow and causing the decrease of visibility. The meteorologists specify that wind intensifications, with speeds generally of 40 ... 50 km / h, will be signaled locally and in the rest of the territory. The NMA also issued two other warnings, orange and yellow. The code orange is valid between 12:00 and 21:00 and targets local areas of the Eastern Carpathians, generally over 1500 m, where the wind will have sustained intensifications with gusts that will exceed 120 ... 130 km / h blowing snow and causing a significant decrease in visibility.
  22. For fans of the old Infinity Engine games like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, playing the isometric fantasy RPG Pathfinder: Kingmaker "is like slipping into a familiar old pair of adventuring boots," we said in our 2018 review. That's a double-edged sword: It's "a good RPG with some unique ideas," we concluded, "but one that ultimately plays it too safe to really stand out from the crowd." Still, it did well enough to warrant a followup, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, announced in 2019 as an "indirect sequel" that moves the action to a new region called the Worldwound, a wasteland overrun with demons courtesy of a planar tear to the Abyss that opened on the material plane. A Kickstarter followed, and it was a major success, pulling in over $2 million in support—more than double the $909,000 earned by the also-very-successful campaign for the first game. Today Owlcat announced the start of the first beta test, open to backers of that Kickstarter and the subsequent "Slacker Backer" campaign. The beta will include the prologue and first four chapters of the game, which the developers said adds up to more than 50 hours of "beta quality content"—don't be surprised if you hit a few bumps along the way, in other words. It sounds quite thorough for as far as it goes, though. The first three chapters included in the beta release will include all quests, all companion storylines, "some" romantic options, and two combat modes, turn-based and real-time with pause. The fourth chapter is less complete, as side quests are missing and some "draft assets" are still in place.
