Samsung introduced its Buy Now, Pay Later option for the first time for its flagship and foldable smartphones in India on Wednesday. ICICI Bank credit card holders with a minimum credit limit of Rs. 1,50,000 will be able to benefit from this offer at retail outlets across India. This scheme also gives the option of zero down payment and a processing fee of 1 percent. The company has confirmed that this offer is available on Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy S22 series smartphones. The new Buy Now, Pay Later option enables Samsung customers to pay 60 percent of the total amount in 18 no-cost EMI monthly instalments. The remaining 40 percent can be repaid in a lump sum with the 19th instalment. As previously mentioned, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable smartphones are eligible for this offer. The Galaxy S22 series — the vanilla Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra — also now come with the Buy Now, Pay Later option. In addition to the Buy Now, Pay Later offer, customers who go for either the regular Galaxy S22 or the Galaxy S22+ can also buy the Galaxy Buds 2 for Rs. 2,999. Both of these smartphones are powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and run on Android 12-based One UI 4.1. Customers who purchase the Galaxy S22 Ultra can get the Galaxy Watch 4 for an additional Rs. 2,999. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is a flagship Samsung smartphone that runs on Android 12 with a One UI 4.1 skin on top. It sports a 6.8-inch Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz. The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM. It features a quad rear camera setup headlined by a 108-megapixel primary sensor. There is also a 40-megapixel selfie shooter on the front. https://gadgets360.com/mobiles/news/samsung-s22-z-fold-flip-3-buy-now-pay-later-icici-bank-galaxy-india-3199128#pfrom=topstory

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro / Galaxy Buds Pro 2 on August 10 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold4, Z Flip4, Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro. The new Pro buds will be successors to the original Galaxy Buds Pro which launched in January 2021. Today a new rumor claims to reveal the upcoming pricing of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in the US market. They will allegedly cost $229.99, which is $30 more than the Galaxy Buds Pro retailed for when they became available. If this pans out, then expect a similar price hike in other markets too. Another source says the new buds will have support for 24-bit audio. Previous rumors talked about three color versions: white, Graphite, and Bora Purple. To stick with the colors theme, we also have a "confirmation" in rumor form of the hues in which Samsung's new wearables will arrive. We're looking at gold, gray, and silver for the 40mm Watch5, blue, gray and silver for the 44m model, and black and gray for the Pro. https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_buds_2_pro_price_leaks-news-55213.php

While Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook parent company Meta, has been proselytizing for months to anyone who will listen about the inevitability of our participation in the so-called metaverse, some analysts think the legacy component of his internet empire is in more trouble than ever. Facebook is beset by challenges on multiple fronts at the moment. The TikTok app continues its inexorable stealing-away of young people. Apple’s anti-tracking app provisions have taken a huge bite out of Facebook’s business. The digital ad market in general is in a huge slump. Moreover, these are some of the reasons analysts suspect that on Wednesday, July 27, Facebook’s parent company might do something that it’s never done before: Report a year-over-year quarterly revenue decline. Facebook earnings in focus The latest Facebook earnings report comes as Wall Street has punished many of the Big Tech names year-to-date. Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Apple are all down. Meta, though, is down more than any of them. A little more than 50% for the year, in fact, at the time of writing. The social media giant’s corporate parent — which also owns Instagram and WhatsApp — had until last year grown its revenue each quarter like clockwork by at least 20 percent. Now? “This company is facing this perfect storm,” said Mark Mahaney, the senior managing director of internet research at Evercore ISI, per Alex Kantrowitz’s Big Technology Substack newsletter. “It has been for a while.” There’s certainly a chance that Facebook’s parent company could surprise analysts to the upside on Wednesday. But even if it does, the expectation is that any growth would be small. Mahaney added that TikTok’s ad revenue growth, for example, is up triple digits. And “that growth has got to be coming from somewhere.” First-ever year-over-year revenue decline? This Wednesday’s earnings report will illuminate the degree to which that growth might be at the expense of Facebook’s once-formidable ad revenue machine. To counter the headwinds, the company in recent days started rolling out a revamped Facebook app design and is said to be experimenting with offering users the option for multiple profiles. Meanwhile, the TikTok-like Reels content format is becoming increasingly determinative of Facebook’s fortunes. In fact, Instagram and Facebook are both starting to nudge users toward posting more Reels. But will the attempt to turn Facebook into a TikTok-style experience be enough to staunch the bleeding? “They’re starting to get tired of it,” said Debra Aho Williamson, an analyst at research firm Insider Intelligence, told CNBC. “Users are definitely gravitating towards other platforms or they’re engaging with Facebook less, and when you start to see that happening in bigger and bigger quantities, that’s when the advertisers really start to take notice.” https://bgr.com/business/facebook-expected-to-take-a-big-hit-this-week-as-users-are-starting-to-get-tired-of-it/

The specimens that were in the Black Jaguar – White Tiger foundation are still in trouble, even after the 'rescue'. The Association of Zoos, Breeders and Aquariums of Mexico (AZCARM) warned that the authorities of the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) have prevented the rescue work of animals from being carried out properly. This is the case of the specimens from the Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation, an establishment that housed jaguars, servals, lions, tigers, spider monkeys, baboons and capuchins among other types of wild animals. According to Ernesto Zazueta, President of AZCARM: “WE ARE REALLY SURPRISED, ANNOYED, DISAPPOINTED BEFORE SO MUCH CONFLICT THAT THE PROFEPA HAS GENERATED JUST FOR TRYING TO HELP THEM. THE ZOOLOGICAL INSTITUTIONS OF AZCARM HAVE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY IN THE EXAMINATION AND MEDICAL ATTENTION OF THE EXEMPLARS, IN THE ADAPTATION OF SPACES IN THE ZOOS AND IN EVERYTHING THAT IMPLICATES THE TRANSFERS. IT IS A LOT OF WORK AND A LOT OF RESOURCES THAT WE HAVE INVESTED IN HELPING THEM.” We suggest: Dehydrated and badly injured: this was the rescue of the big cats of the Black Jaguar-White Tiger foundation the endless rescue Black Jaguar-White Tiger was closed in July this year and the animals were relocated after check-ups and treatments to improve their health. Their destinations were the states of Puebla, Michoacán, Sinaloa, State of Mexico and Mexico City. It is planned to continue with the transfers to Guanajuato, Veracruz, Morelos and Chiapas. However, according to a statement from AZCARM, the state agency in charge of following up on the rescue has engaged in bad practices. “IT REALLY IS A NIGHTMARE AND IT IS VERY UNPLEASANT NOT TO BE ABLE TO HELP SIMPLY BECAUSE WE ARE NOT ALLOWED; THEY LEAVE OUR PERSONNEL OUTSIDE, THEY DO NOT GIVE OUR GROUP OF VETERINARIES ACCESS TO VARIOUS AREAS AND WHEN THEY DO, THEY DO IT WITH VERY BAD MANNERS AND EVEN BEHAVE AGGRESSIVE.” Zazueta directly points to Patricio Rodolfo Vilchis Noriega, General Director of Forest Inspection and Surveillance of PROFEPA, as the main person responsible for these actions. For its part, PROFEPA reported that the lioness Lucky is undergoing treatment while awaiting the results of the studies performed on her. Unfortunately, in the midst of the administrative disorder and the media accusations launched between instances, those who have suffered the most are the animals. https://www.ngenespanol.com/animales/que-ha-pasado-caso-black-jaguar-white-tiger/

he day after the House Jan. 6 committee wrapped up its most recent public hearing, all eyes turned to Washington’s federal courts last Friday. Not only did a jury convict former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon of two counts of contempt of Congress on that day, but eagle-eyed observers also noticed another, more cooperative Trump World figure exiting the courthouse: Marc Short, former chief of staff to former Vice President Mike Pence. Soon after, reports emerged that Short and another former Pence aide, counsel Greg Jacob, testified last week before a federal grand jury investigating the events surrounding the Jan. 6 attack. And on Tuesday night, The Washington Post reported that grand jury has been questioning witnesses, including but apparently not limited to Short and Jacob, about their “conversations with Trump, his lawyers, and others in his inner circle who sought to substitute Trump allies for certified electors from some states Joe Biden won.” The revelation that the Justice Department is investigating then-President Donald Trump’s actions comes as some of his aides are working to put visible distance between themselves and their former boss. And perhaps no group highlights that trend more clearly than the alumni of the Trump White House counsel’s office. For starters, when Short was seen leaving the courthouse last Friday, a second recognizable Trump alum was at his side: Emmet Flood. Flood, a partner with Washington’s storied Williams & Connolly, has had a fascinating career. One of then-President Bill Clinton’s lawyers during his impeachment, Flood later worked in the White House Counsel’s Office during George W. Bush’s administration. And most recently, before Flood was Short’s lawyer, he served as the White House’s head lawyer for special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation and was even briefly acting White House counsel until Pat Cipollone arrived. When he left the White House in June 2019, Trump was effusive in his praise, tweeting that his “friend” Emmet had done a “GREAT JOB.” Continue reading https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/maddow-blog-ex-trump-white-house-lawyers-take-sides-—-against-trump/ar-AA102SMr?li=BBnb7Kz

Nothing Phone 1 was launched in India and worldwide earlier this month on July 12. It has been only a few days since the phone went on sale in the country and reportedly several customers have started complaining of experiencing similar design and quality issues. Notably, a couple of users were spotted experiencing issues with the alignment of the wire tape in the Black variant of the Nothing Phone 1. In addition, some users have complained about Flipkart not registering their replacement requests. As per a report by 91Mobiles, a customer took to Twitter to reveal several build quality issues visible on the rear panel of the Nothing Phone 1. There were purportedly alignment issues with the wiring tape, placement of the LED flash, and more. The report also mentions that when trying to replace a faulty Nothing Phone 1, the publication was seemingly unable to place a return/ replacement request through Flipkart. Problems did not end for Nothing here, as another customer tweeted that the company supposedly shipped a damaged Nothing Phone 1 as a replacement. We've reached out to Nothing to comment on the issues, and will update this article when we hear back. It has been a rough couple of weeks for Nothing since the launch of the Nothing Phone 1. There were reports of the smartphone displaying a green tint on the screen for some users even before it officially went on sale. Others also complained of dead pixels around the hole-punch slot of the smartphone. Nothing had to release the first update for the Nothing Phone 1 even before the smartphone went on sale. It included fixes for battery performance and an improved fingerprint unlocking experience. The update also added HDR10+ support. There was a second update only a few days later, that supposedly resolved a fingerprint sensor bug and battery life optimisations. https://gadgets360.com/mobiles/news/nothing-phone-1-design-quality-issues-replacement-error-user-reports-flipkart-3195653#pfrom=topstory

Introduction and specs With the Nubia Red Magic 7S Pro out in China, the company just launched the handset for the global market as a successor to the 7 Pro a few months back. But as it's usually the case with biannual upgrades, the 7S Pro isn't a full-fledged successor. It's more of a refresh. That's because many of the features and hardware on the 7 Pro can be found on the 7S Pro as well. However, some key upgrades would make you want to get the 7S Pro instead of the 7 Pro if you are on the market for a gaming-centric smartphone. The most obvious and probably important one is the chipset. The 7S Pro runs on the updated Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is manufactured on TSMC's 4nm manufacturing process. The standard SD 8 Gen 1 was Samsung's doing, and now, Qualcomm claims about 30% improved efficiency over the original SoC thanks to TSMC's better node. It will be interesting to compare the test results between the 7 Pro and the 7S Pro since both handsets share mostly the same hardware, except the chipset. ZTE nubia Red Magic 7S Pro specs at a glance: Body: 166.3x77.1x10.0mm, 235g; Glass front, glass back, aluminum frame; Pressure sensitive zones (520Hz touch-sensing), Built-in cooling fan, Aviation aluminum middle frame. Display: 6.80" AMOLED, 1B colors, 120Hz, 600 nits, 1080x2400px resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 387ppi. Chipset: Qualcomm SM8475 Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (4 nm): Octa-core (1x3.19 GHz Cortex-X2 & 3x2.75 GHz Cortex-A710 & 4x1.80 GHz Cortex-A510); Adreno 730. Memory: 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 16GB RAM, 512GB 18GB RAM, 1TB 18GB RAM; UFS 3.1. OS/Software: Android 12, Redmagic 5.5. Rear camera: Wide (main): 64 MP, f/1.8, 26mm, 1/1.97", 0.7µm, PDAF; Ultra wide angle: 8 MP, f/2.2, 120˚, 13mm, 1/4.0", 1.12µm; Macro: 2 MP, f/2.4. Front camera: 16 MP, (wide), under display. Video capture: Rear camera: 8K@30fps, 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps; Front camera: 1080p@30/60fps. Battery: 5000mAh; Fast charging 135W, 50% in 5 min, 100% in 15 min (advertised), Power Delivery 3.0. Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); NFC; 3.5mm jack; stereo speakers. And when we say mostly, we do mean pretty much everything else. Except for the new paint jobs, there's little that sets the 7S Pro and the 7 Pro apart. The good news is that the marginal upgrade doesn't come at extra cost as the 7S Pro is priced the same as the 7 Pro. Last but not least, the 7S Pro gets a newer, better cooling system called ICE 10.0 Multi-Dimensional Cooling System. Quite the mouthful, but we expect it to be just as effective as the previous generation. All Red Magic phones we've tested so far - with the small exception of the Red Magic 6R - passed our sustained performance test with flying colors. Even without resorting to the active cooling fan, Red Magic phones have utilized the full potential of the Snapdragon flagship SoCs. Unboxing the nubia Red Magic 7S Pro The box is identical to the one holding the standard version and contains the same things - user manuals, the 65W Power Delivery 3.0 charger and a corresponding USB-C to USB-C cable. The transparent silicone case is also at hand, which is nice because it won't fully conceal the design. https://www.gsmarena.com/nubia_red_magic_7s_pro-review-2454.php

T-Mobile has agreed to fork over $350 million to customers following a massive data breach last year that resulted in a class action lawsuit. The company made the disclosure in a securities filing on Friday. But if you were among the millions of T-Mobile victims caught up in this embarrassing incident? Don’t start celebrating at the thought of a huge T-Mobile settlement check coming your way. The company’s filing doesn’t actually specify how much individual customers can expect. The amount could be as low as $5-$10, according to one estimate. That’s just based on similar settlements in the past. The T-Mobile filing says the customers can’t request more than $2,500 each. T-Mobile settlement check In a new US Securities and Exchange Commission filing, the carrier said it had agreed to an aggregate payout of $350 million. That money will, of course, fund claims submitted by class members. But it will also pay attorney’s fees, plus the cost of administering the settlement. Needless to say, both of those two items will require far more from the settlement kitty than individual customers are getting. Moreover, for context, the entire settlement represents less than half of 1 percent of T-Mobile’s 2021 revenue. “If approved by the court,” the T-Mobile filing reads, “the Company anticipates this settlement of the class action, along with other settlements of separate consumer claims that have been previously completed or are currently pending, will resolve substantially all of the claims brought by the Company’s current, former and prospective customers who were impacted by the 2021 cyberattack. “In connection with the proposed class action settlement and the separate settlements, the Company expects to record a total pre-tax charge of approximately $400 million in the second quarter of 2022.” 2021 data breach The reason a T-Mobile settlement check was even necessary in the first place? It stems, as we noted above, from a data breach reported last year. A hacker claimed to have stolen a huge tranche of personal data from the carrier’s customers. As we wrote at the time, the carrier quickly investigated the hacker’s claims. The company “immediately closed the access point” that the hacker used to access its servers. But T-Mobile was then, unfortunately, able to verify that hackers had, in fact, stolen a subset of customer data. Some of that data contained personal information like customer names, dates of birth, and SSNs. Here are a few of the key findings that T-Mobile shared with its customers in a news release: Our preliminary analysis is that approximately 7.8 million current T-Mobile postpaid customer accounts’ information appears to be contained in the stolen files, as well as just over 40 million records of former or prospective customers who had previously applied for credit with T-Mobile. Near the end of the release, T-Mobile revealed a very important piece of information. The hack exposed the names, phone numbers, and account PINs of around 850,000 active T-Mobile prepaid customers. T-Mobile quickly reset those PINs and alerted customers about that reset. Bottom line, though: The T-Mobile settlement here sounds more like a win for lawyers than anyone else. https://bgr.com/business/heres-how-much-you-could-get-from-t-mobiles-data-breach-settlement/
