Diablo 2: Resurrected Won't Replace Original Game, Will Have Alpha For Feedback One of the biggest announcements to come from BlizzCon 2021 was Diablo 2: Resurrected, and the updated version of the classic dungeon-crawler makes significant improvements to the visuals--to the point that it almost looks like a brand-new game. However, Blizzard's track record with remastered games is spotty, particularly after Warcraft III: Reforged released to a negative reception due to missing features and few meaningful improvements. Blizzard is looking to avoid a similar fate for Diablo 2: Resurrected. Speaking to GameSpot's Alessandro Fillari during BlizzCon, designer Andre Abrahamian said the team knew it needed to maintain the core gameplay of the original Diablo 2 when it started on the project. It isn't designed to replace that game, either, as both will still be available through Battle.net. If players prefer the older version, they're still able to play it, instead. Now Playing: Diablo II Resurrected Reveal Trailer | BlizzCon 2021 Producer Matthew Cederquist added that there will also be a technical alpha test happening shortly that will allow players to provide feedback on the game so far, which Blizzard will then do its best to implement. If the developers felt something was straying too far from the original formula while designing the new version, however, it wasn't implemented, so it should still feel like Diablo 2 for veterans. The game will be based on version 1.14, which is the current version live for players, because the team was focused first on providing an authentic experience. However, it's aware that balance isn't perfect in this version, so it's possible things could be tweaked in the future. First and foremost, it seems Blizzard wants this to be the Diablo 2 you think you remember, rather than the one that actually existed. Playing a 20-year-old game can be a shock if you don't remember the visuals. One area where there will be significant improvements is in anti-cheat and anti-bots. As the game is on modern Battle.net, Blizzard says there will be much more protection against item duplication as well as toxic behavior. Diablo 2: Resurrected is coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5 later this year. The game's development team includes Vicarious Visions, which was folded into Blizzard recently. It previously created the excellent Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 remake, so it has experience with giving older games a makeover.

How to Build a Raspberry Pi-Powered Multi-Room Audio System Multi-room audio systems can cost a pretty penny, with Sono’s two-speaker system starting at $379. But who needs to buy an expensive set of wireless speakers when you can use some Raspberry Pis and any 3.5mm wired speakers you have handy to achieve the same effect? In this tutorial, we will use our Raspberry Pi 4s and speakers / receivers (with 3.5mm audio inputs) to play music from our favorite streaming service perfectly in sync via Bluetooth from our phone, tablet, or computer. We’ll show you how to do this with a single speaker and Raspberry Pi and then explain how to replicate it in additional rooms. Instead of Raspberry Pi OS, we will use BalenaSoundOS to make the bluetooth connection visible (to our other devices) and eliminate the need for a monitor, keyboard, and mouse for our Raspberry Pi. What You’ll Need Raspberry Pi 4, or Raspberry Pi 400:one unit per room.. 8 GB (or larger) microSD card, U3 cards recommended (see best Raspberry Pi microSD cards). One per room. 3.5 mm audio cables Speakers with 3.5mm audio input and/or receivers with 3.5mm audio input. Power Supplies for your Raspberry Pis Windows, Mac or Chromebook Optional: Smartphone or tablet Notes During the writing of this article, we found the Raspberry Pi 4 with a 3.5 mm audio input to be the best hardware setup. The Pi 400 requires a USB speaker since it does not have an audio jack output. We tested with multiple Raspberry Pi 3B+ devices, but were unable to find the bluetooth signal during testing for this project. You do NOT need a monitor, mouse, or keyboard for your Raspberry Pi in this project. Timing: Please plan for an hour to complete this project. This is an excellent project for repurposing old receivers. If you have a non-bluetooth receiver with a 3.5mm jack input, you can connect your speakers to your receiver and your receiver to your Raspberry Pi. Set Up Balena Sound Instead of the standard Raspberry Pi OS, we will flash BalenaSoundOS to our microSD card. BalenaSound is pre-built with a lite client for music streaming via the Pi’s Bluetooth and eliminates the need for attaching a monitor, mouse, and keyboard to our Raspberry Pi. 1. Create a free BalenaCloud account here. If you already have a BalenaCloud account, login to BalenaCloud. 2. Deploy a balena-sound application. Note: You must already be logged into your Balena account for this to automatically direct you to creating a balena-sound application. 3. Click “Deploy to Application.”

How Startups Can Sell Software To Large Enterprises For software startups, it is common to initially focus on smaller customers. The sales cycles are much shorter and there will likely to be more interest in taking a risk. Yet this does not mean startups should avoid enterprises (these are companies usually with more than 1,000 employees). “Startups are critical for enterprises as they undergo digital transformation, modernize their businesses and enable a different kind of work coming out of the pandemic,”said Shruti Tournatory, who is the Head of Business Development at Sapphire Ventures. “Sapphire Ventures recently released the CIO Innovation Index, which shows that while startups account for 10% of the IT budget today, that number is expected to grow 50% in the next 12 months, proving that CIOs are increasingly adopting emerging technologies to run their businesses. In particular, enterprises are turning to startups for their AI and machine learning needs, and next-gen data management cybersecurity.” Keep in mind that the sales motion for large enterprises can be jarring for founders. There will be a need to talk to various departments and levels within an organization. And yes, there will be considerable inertia. A deal can easily take a year to get done. Given this, what are some strategies to take? How can you improve your odds of success? Well, let’s take a look at the following: Creative Marketing: Cold emails often fail. Of course, it is much better to have a “warm” introduction. But this may be tough, especially for young founders who do not have extensive networks. Then what to do? Well, you can try creative marketing to get the attention of enterprises “If your buyer wants to learn how startups approach a specific problem, you can create workshops featuring startup leaders that enterprise buyers will benefit from,” said Sandhya Hegde, who is a Partner at Unusual Ventures. “If they are looking to teach at-scale best practices, you could start a podcast and offer them a platform to do so. Great marketing is all about supporting your customers’ aspirations.” MORE FOR YOU How One Company Quietly Became The Leader In Learning Management Systems How Do You Know You Have The Right Startup Idea? 5 Principles To Keep Your Business Thriving In 2021 Trusted Relationship: In the early meetings, you do not want to sell your solutions. Instead, the goal should be to learn about the company’s business and needs. “Remember, you’re selling more than just a product or service,” said Keith Richey, who is the Senior Director of Global Marketing at LinkedIn. “You’re also building a trusted and long-term relationship. So ask questions. What does the industry look like? What is success for the buyer? Also, before you have a meeting, come equipped with perspective and insight. Share content specific to the buyer’s industry to bring credibility and add value to the selling process. A recent study by LinkedIn found that trust ranks among the top qualities buyers are looking for when engaging with sellers. However, only 40% of buyers describe the sales profession as ‘trustworthy.’ Be an advocate for your buyer and ensure that they feel supported throughout the whole buying process.” Identify the Pain Points: This is the best way to break through the resistance. “When selling to larger companies you must come to every conversation with a point of view about their business,” said Doug Landis, who is a Growth Partner at Emergence Capital. “You have to know what they are focused on: growth, mitigating risk or cutting costs. These strategic initiatives for the business will trickle down to every department across the organization. When you know what their strategic initiatives are then it's easier to map/align your solution.” Concise Messaging: Get away from talking about the jargon and complex technology. Craft a message that stands out. “I used to be a journalist, so at Delphix we coach our sales teams to hone the ‘business pain headline’—the compelling, concise reason why a customer needs our software,” said Jedidiah Yueh, who is the founder and CEO of Delphix. “It has to be concise, because your champions have to be able to remember and repeat it when they’re fighting internally for budget.” Freemium Model: This can be an effective way to get interest from an enterprise customer. It’s about a try-before-you buy approach, which has minimal risk. “The freemium model works particularly well when the solution is easy to adopt and use even by smaller groups inside a large enterprise,” said Andy Stinnes, who is a Venture Partner at Cloud Apps Capital Partners. “You attract free subscription users in the short term, and then convert some of these customers to a paid tier at a much lower acquisition cost, even when including the ongoing cost of the large free user base. When you have enough adopters, you look for prospects with enough individual free users and bundle add-on features into an enterprise edition that you can sell to the company.” Special Requirements: Enterprises often want high scalability and configurability. After all, they are looking for something that can move the needle. “Every enterprise has a different, complex culture and organizational structure— meaning there is no one-size-fits-all approach to developing a product that will be universally functional without the need for modification,” said Chris Babel, who is the CEO of TrustArc. “Building adaptable solutions can be tailored to address the needs of multiple organizations, regardless of those unique differences. This will allow for startups to continuously update offerings without starting from scratch as they continue to build a larger customer base.” Best-In-Class Sales Stack: Invest in the tools your sales people need to succeed, such as for sales engagement, conversational marketing and account-based platforms. “This will allow you to demonstrate your modern approach, and paint the vision for a digital transformation that your enterprise buyer craves,” said Kraig Swensrud, who is the cofounder and CEO at Qualified. Tom (@ttaulli) is an advisor/board member to startups and the author of Artificial Intelligence Basics: A Non-Technical Introduction, The Robotic Process Automation Handbook: A Guide to Implementing RPA Systems and Implementing AI Systems: Transform Your Business in 6 Steps. He also has developed various online courses, such as for the COBOL and Python programming languages.

Omegle: Children expose themselves on video chat site A BBC investigation into the increasingly po[CENSORED]r live video chat website Omegle has found what appear to be prepubescent boys explicitly touching themselves in front of strangers. Omegle links up random people for virtual video and text chats, and claims to be moderated - but has a reputation for unpredictable and shocking content. Global child protection groups are increasingly concerned about predators using the site to gather self-generated child sexual abuse material. The founder of the website, Leif K Brooks, told the BBC his site had increased moderation efforts in recent months. According to new research collected by data analyst Semrush, Omegle grew globally from about 34 million visits a month in January 2020 to 65 million in January 2021. Collage of explicit material on Omegle image captionIn a two-hour period the BBC was connected at random with 12 masturbating men, eight naked males and seven porn adverts Interest has spiked particularly in the US, UK, India and Mexico. In the UK alone, traffic increased by 61%, with 3.7 million visits in December from predominantly people under the age of 34 - many of them teenagers. Omegle has been the subject of recent viral videos from po[CENSORED]r social media influencers including KSI, Charli D'Amelio, James Charles and Emma Chamberlain. Omegle videos on tiktok IMAGE COPYRIGHTTIKTOK image captionThere are now more than 9.4bn views of Omegle videos on TikTok alone On TikTok alone, videos tagged with "Omegle" have been viewed more than 9.4 billion times. TikTok told the BBC that, as a result of our investigation, it had now banned sharing links to Omegle. The company says its safety teams have not found any harmful Omegle content on its platform but would continue to monitor the videos. 'Men being gross' "It's a trend now on TikTok that everyone's doing Omegle, so me and my friends thought we'd go back to it," says 15-year-old Keira from the US on video chat on the site. "Men being gross is something me and my friends see a lot. It should be better monitored. It's like the dark web but for everyone." In the last six months, many schools, police forces and government agencies have issued warnings about the site in the UK, US, Norway, France, Canada and Australia. omegle website image image captionThere is no age verification process or registration required to join video chats During the approximately 10 hours that we monitored Omegle, we were paired with dozens of under-18s, and some appeared to be as young as seven or eight. Omegle's disclaimer states that users should be 18 or over, but there is no age verification process in place. During just one two-hour period, we were connected at random with 12 masturbating men, eight naked males and seven porn adverts. There is also the option to find matches based on interests, for example "football" or "movies". When we inputted one generic keyword relating to adult material, we were paired even more frequently with people engaging in explicit activity. Children engaging in sex acts We were also paired at random twice with what appeared to be young prepubescent boys masturbating live on the video chat. One of them identified himself as being 14 years old. These instances were not recorded, and we ended both chats swiftly before reporting them to the authorities. omegle site image captionChild protection charities say Omegle is being used by groomers to gather child abuse material A spokeswoman from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the US said: "The speed in which you found possible child sexual abuse material should underscore the necessity of age verification on social media platforms." Mr Brooks, the website's owner, says he has now blocked the use of the keyword, but the BBC has not been able to verify this. 'Self-generated abuse material' The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), which is responsible for finding and removing images and videos of child sexual abuse online, said the results of our investigation were troubling but followed a recent trend. "We have found self-generated abuse material elsewhere on the internet which has been created by predators who have captured and distributed footage from Omegle," said Chris Hughes, hotline director at the foundation. "Some of the videos we've seen show individuals self-penetrating on webcam, and this type of activity is going on in a household setting often where we know parents are present. There are conversations that you can hear, even children being asked to come down for tea." In 2020, the IWF said analysts actioned 68,000 reports which were tagged as including "self-generated" child sexual abuse content - a 77% increase on the previous year.

World Of Warcraft's Arthas Helm of Domination Replica Is The Pointiest Collectible Ever Made Lining up with this weekend's BlizzCon, Blizzard is offering up the previously-announced Helm of Domination collectible, which goes on sale tomorrow, February 19 at 3 PM PT / 6 PM ET on the Blizzard Gear Store. We got to take a closer look at it, and it's very spikey. Blizzard sent us the collectible, and the helmet may not be big enough to fit on your own head, but this World of Warcraft 30th anniversary replica is highly-detailed and feels pretty sturdy. Primarily made of polyresin (88%, Plastic: 6%, and Alloy: 6%), the collectible comes in at nearly 17-inches tall--when placed on the stand. However, this helmet will cost you a pretty penny--$300 to be exact. Check out some images of it below. It won't fit on your heat, but it will dominate your enemies It won't fit on your heat, but it will dominate your enemies The stand for the helmet keeps it in place and upright. There is a tremendous amount of detail within the helmet, including the inscription around the gem between the eyes. It's surprising how well this helmet translates into a collectible. And no, it's not full scale, but this helmet is already very large, and scaling it up any more would make a challenge to put on a shelf--because you wouldn't have the room. World of Warcraft is filled with incredible amounts of lore and backstory, but this is one of the more recognizable items from that world. "Forged according to the Jailer's will, the Helm of Domination was to be the vessel of Death's influence on Azeroth," reads the official description for the item. "The Nathrezim imprisoned the spirit of the orc chieftain Ner'zhul within the helm, granting him command over a vast army of undead Scourge. The fallen Prince Arthas Menethil freed the Helm from the Frozen Throne, donning it to take up the mantle of the Lich King."

How to Mine Ethereum: NiceHash, Mining Pools, Optimal Settings The Ethereum mining boom continues to roll on, and if you've read our best mining GPUs and want to see what all the fuss is about, we've got the details on the most po[CENSORED]r ways of mining with your PC. Besides the actual hardware for mining — which basically means having one of the best graphics cards — you'll need to decide on the software you want to run, and how you want to get paid. There are three primary approaches to mining, and we'll cover these in order of ease of getting started. Before we continue, let's be clear: We're all about providing information, both good and bad. There are GPU shortages, other PC component shortages, prices are skyrocketing, and clearly there are a bunch of people who think mining is awesome. This has all happened before, and we've seen how it ends — or at least where it goes temporarily. Anyone that had the foresight to put together a big mining farm sometime in the past year or two and save all the Ethereum and/or Bitcoin it generated (while eating the costs) looks pretty smart today. Trying to do the same thing right now? It will cost more, profits will be lower (or not even materialize for potentially years, if ever), and there are loads of other concerns that we'll get into. Lots of people still want to know about mining, how it works, and how much they can earn doing it. We'll answer those questions as best we're able, and bring up other concerns and related information that you might not have considered. Is that trying to play both sides? Perhaps. But most large scale miners are already invested, whether we write these articles or not. "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" For those who already have the hardware, an influx of new miners could actually help bring about the end of this bubble sooner than later (but don't get caught holding the bag). Hopefully by the end of it all, you'll be better informed. #SaveTheGPUs #DontMine How to Mine with NiceHash Ethereum Mining (Image credit: Tom's Hardware) The easiest way to get started at mining is with NiceHash. NiceHash launched in 2014, right around the time of the first major spike in cryptocoin mining (second if you want to include Bitcoin's initial surge to $32 per BTC in 2011). Prior to NiceHash, getting started with coin mining was quite a bit more complicated — as we'll detail below. NiceHash has greatly lowered the barrier to entry, and it gets rid of some of the worries about what coin(s) to mine. You effectively lease your PC's hashing power to other users, who get to choose what to mine, and you get paid in Bitcoin. NiceHash takes a small cut of the potential profits, and your PC can be up and mining in minutes. We're not going to walk through every step of the process, as NiceHash already has tutorials. The short summary is that you need to register with the service, and you should have your own Bitcoin wallet somewhere (e.g. at Coinbase or some other service). Then you download the NiceHash mining software, configure it to mine to your BTC address (provided by NiceHash), and you're all set. Your BTC will accumulate on NiceHash, and you can transfer it out whenever you like — which is a good idea since you never know if or when another successful hack might occur. Ethereum Mining (Image credit: Tom's Hardware) NiceHash has several options, ranging in degree of complexity. The easiest is to use the new QuickMiner, which is a web interface to a basic mining solution. You download the QuickMiner software, run that, and the webpage allows you to start and stop mining — you don't even need to put in your BTC address. It's dead simple, though oddly the numbers (in my experience) are quite different from reality. For example, in a brief test QuickMiner suggested it was earning over $15 per day (on an RTX 3090), and noted we "could be making 16% more" by using NiceHashMiner (which we'll get to next). Except, after letting both versions run for a bit, QuickMiner seemed to stabilize at the same performance level as NiceHashMiner. YMMV. Next up is NiceHashMiner, which is what most people will want to use. It's more complex in some ways than QuickMiner, but it has more options that can improve overall profitability. By default, it will ask you to log in using your NiceHash account details. Alternatively, you can use the NiceHash app on your phone to scan a QR code, or just input your BTC address manually. Once launched, the first time it runs, NiceHashMiner will benchmark your hardware using various common mining (hashing) algorithms. Which algorithms and software get tested varies a bit by your GPU, and you can customize things quite a bit. Right now, DaggerHashimoto (aka, Ethash, what Ethereum uses) tends to be the most profitable, though sometimes Octopus or some other algorithm might sneak in some cycles. The idea is that NiceHashMiner will choose whatever is currently the most profitable coin to mine, based on what people are willing to pay to lease your hardware. Sometimes a new coin will launch, or someone will want to dedicate a lot of mining power at a specific coin, and they'll pay more to do so. Instead of mining Ethereum 24/7, you might occasionally run some other algorithm, and it's all managed by the software, which usually (but not always) manages to do a good job.

Bosch, Microsoft join forces to develop vehicle software platform BERLIN (Reuters) - Bosch will work with Microsoft on a software platform for vehicles, it said on Thursday, as it strives to get a foot in the door to the fast-growing market for electromobility and automated driving technologies. By using cloud technology, the software platform will ensure that vehicles’ control units and computers can get software throughout their life time, the German auto supplier said. The technology is based on Microsoft Azure and includes software modules from Bosch, it said, adding that they plan to use the software platform in vehicle prototypes by the end of 2021. “We are thus creating the conditions for wireless updates to work just as smoothly and conveniently on vehicles as they do on smartphones,” said Bosch Managing Director Markus Heyn. The companies will also cooperate to adapt existing software tools to let automakers and suppliers to simplify and accelerate their own software updates. Last week, German carmaker Volkswagen AG announced a similar cooperation with Microsoft to use its cloud computing services to help it streamline its software development efforts for self-driving cars.

Xbox Games With Gold For February 2021: More Free Games Up For Grabs Now We're more than halfway through February, so that means more free games are available for Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. A total of four free games are available now as part of February's Xbox Games with Gold lineup, including Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition and Lost Planet 2. This month's lineup included five games--one more than usual--but Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb is no longer up for grabs. Those with an active Xbox Live Gold subscription can claim the excellent Gears 5 along with Resident Evil, Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition, and Lost Planet 2. As always, all of these games can be played on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. A few should also work on Xbox 360. Now Playing: Gears 5 Video Review Set after the events of Gears 4 and featuring Kait Diaz in the lead role, Gears 5 is a horror-inspired entry in the series that digs deeper into the mysterious origins of the Locusts as well as the role humanity played in the conflict. Its excellent campaign is complemented by a beefy competitive multiplayer mode and several cooperative offerings, including Horde mode. It experiments in its storytelling more than its predecessor, as The Coalition is clearly getting more comfortable leading the franchise. If Gears 4 felt like more of the same to you, this is very different. Resident Evil is a great choice for February, seeing as it's only a few months before we get Resident Evil Village, and the version included with Games With Gold is the remaster from a few years back. It's a tense and smaller-scale game than some of its successors, but it emphasizes classic horror over action for a less mindless experience. It also introduces us to some of the series' best characters like Jill and Chris. Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition may not be a household name, but the pixel art action game is an acclaimed and mysterious adventure that has elements of Metroidvania games. If you like Celeste, the chances are pretty high that you're going to like Dandara, as well, and there's even more focus on the narrative in this version.

HWiNFO Will Soon Sense Peak 'Hotspot' Temp of Nvidia GPUs To date, temperature monitoring tools such as HWiNFO have only been able to display the GPU temperature of Nvidia GPUs as an average of its sensors, but that's about to change. According to Igor Wallossek, who recently got his hands on an unreleased beta of HWiNFO, the temperature and sensor monitoring program's next beta will come with a feature to monitor the Hotspot temperature of Nvidia GPUs. What is Hotspot and Why Does it Matter? HWiNFO Unreleased Beta 'Hotspot' Temperature on Nvidia GPUs (Image credit: Igor's Lab) Nvidia's GPUs currently report the temperature to monitoring programs as a single value — GPU Temp, or whatever your program may call it. In reality though, the GPU doesn't have just one temperature sensor on it smack in the middle. Instead, the GPU has many sensors spread across its topography, and it averages the results for the reported number. As you can imagine, the temperature across the sensors can vary wildly depending on the load on the specific area, the flatness of the GPU surface and the cooler, the mating between the two, the thermal grease used — you get the idea. As such, it's actually quite interesting to know what the peak temperature is that's recorded on the GPU. Don't AMD GPU's Already Report this Temperature? That's correct. AMD's new RDNA2 GPUs, which include the RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6900 XT graphics cards, already report this information to HWiNFO. But contrary to AMD, Nvidia has been very hush-hush about this information.

Wetherspoons calls for pubs to reopen 'to save jobs' The chairman of JD Wetherspoon is calling for pubs to reopen at the same time as non-essential shops. Tim Martin warned that the pub industry was "on its knees" and needed to reopen to save jobs. He said pubs made a massive contribution to the economy, with the Wetherspoons chain paying about £10 of tax for every pound of profit it made. His call comes after the boss of rival pub chain Young's said pubs should be reopened by April. Pubs, bars and restaurants across most of the UK are currently closed, although they can offer takeaway food and drink within certain restrictions. Scientists have said talk of reopening them is premature. 'Optimistic' PM plots 'cautious' lockdown easing Run Eat Out to Help Out again, says takeaway giant Will the UK's pubs stay shut until May? But Mr Martin argued that pubs and restaurants were "Covid-secure environments", having invested in safety measures such as plastic screens in front of tills, table service-only and floor markings to illustrate one-way systems around pub venues. "Surely it is possible for the hospitality industry to reopen at the same time as non-essential shops, now that a vaccine exists, on the basis of the social distancing and hygiene regulations," he said. He also suggested that various lockdown measures imposed on pubs since March last year could spell a "disaster" for the public finances. In the financial year to July 2019, before the coronavirus crisis started, JD Wetherspoon, its customers and employees generated £764m of taxes, he said. "The amount of tax paid by Wetherspoon is replicated, according to the size of the company, throughout the pub industry, and shows just how important pubs are to the economy," he said. A pub selling takeaway beer IMAGE COPYRIGHTREUTERS image captionPubs in England can no longer sell alcohol to take away, only for delivery On Sunday, the chief executive of the Young's pub chain, Patrick Dardis, accused the prime minister of a "lack of respect" for the sector and of basing the decision to close pubs on "unproven" science - a claim that experts dispute. He said major pub chief executives, including himself, were leaving an industry forum set up by small business minister Paul Scully. He declined to name the executives. He said the industry needed a "road map" to reopening with social distancing restrictions in place, but that these should only last for a few months. Mr Dardis suggested during an interview with the BBC's World at One programme on Monday that pubs should reopen for Easter weekend, "accepting that there would be social distancing" measures in place. 'Back to square one' However, Dr Bharat Pankhania, senior clinical lecturer at the University of Exeter medical school, said talk of reopening pubs by April was premature. "What the executives of pubs need to know is that failure to get it right equals back to square one. And back to square one equals much more pain economically, much more hardship." He said people drank alcohol to relax and "one of the consequences of relaxing is that you drop your guard". Prime Minister Boris Johnson has previously said he is "optimistic" he will be able to set out plans on 22 February for a "cautious" easing of England's lockdown - despite scientists' warnings against measures being rolled back too quickly. On Saturday, he said "huge progress" had been made with the rollout of vaccines, with ministers hopeful that schools can reopen from 8 March. After this, the government would look to open non-essential shops, followed by the hospitality sector, he said. UK Hospitality boss Kate Nicholls recently warned that a May restart would be later than had been expected and that there could be "very little" left to reopen if closures last that long. Industry figures released last week show the plight the sector is facing, with a net loss of almost 6,000 licensed premises last year, triple the tally in 2019. With the pub and restaurant industry one of the hardest-hit sectors during the pandemic, Wetherspoons last year slumped to its first annual pre-tax loss since 1984. Mr Martin also sold more than £50m worth of shares in the company in January. It came amid "significant buying interest" following a previous share placing announced by Wetherspoons, the company said. Some of those funds will go towards buying new pubs, which it expected to produce higher returns when they are allowed to reopen.

Josh Warrington stunned by Mauricio Lara in knockout defeat at Wembley Arena Josh Warrington fell to one of the biggest shock defeats in a British ring in recent years as Mauricio Lara landed a stunning knockout at Wembley Arena. Mexico's Lara, 22, landed a heavy knockdown in the fourth round and Warrington struggled to make the bell, his legs barely able to support him. Despite showing grit and trying to find poise, Warrington - a 1-25 betting favourite - was never able to recover. In the ninth, a barrage of left hooks and a hard left hand wiped him out. How Lara stunned Warrington The former IBF world featherweight champion - who had not fought in 16 months and gave up the belt in January to pursue other titles - was left flat on his back and was later taken to hospital for checks after a first career defeat. "A young man, 22, comes in, no one gave him a chance," said promoter Eddie Hearn, who said Warrington had a rematch option. "I've not seen bravery like I saw from Warrington for a long time. "He came out, he was erratic, the ring rust showed. He got caught and never recovered. How he got through the fourth I'll never know but he was on empty. The bravery was incredible. "You have to give Lara tremendous credit. For Warrington it's a crushing blow." Josh Warrington on the canvas Warrington had never lost in 30 fights before facing Lara After a reckless opening during which both fighters looked leaky in their defence, it was Warrington who wilted when a left hand dropped him. Though he fought until the bell, had referee Howard Foster stepped in, the former champion could have had no complaints. "If Josh survives this it's one of the greatest comebacks I've ever seen in a British ring," tweeted former world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew after round four. Warrington spent the early part of the fifth in survival mode but seemed fully aware his legs were shaky underneath him and was heard telling his corner his shoulder was in pain when the three minutes were up. Lara, cut but on the brink of the win of his life, grew in confidence. He was rugged in his approach rather than polished and while he was taking punches himself, he could not miss with the left hook when up close. He had two defeats in his 23 previous outings but when he took two hard blows in the eighth and yet instantly backed Warrington up with a punch of his own, the greater power he carried and the vulnerability of his opponent was obvious. A round later it was all over, a right to the body and left to the face sealing a knockout win that will be felt the world over, none more so than in the Lara's boxing-crazed homeland. "We worked really hard and it worked out how we planned," said Mexico City's Lara. "Our confidence was because we believed we could do it." Some will ask if Warrington's 16-month spell of inactivity was key, others may question if a fighter who typically enjoys passionate support lost his edge in fan-free surroundings, and there may also be questions as to whether he was looking past his opponent. Whatever his reasoning, he must pick the bones out of a first defeat in 12 years and 31 professional outings, a loss no-one saw coming.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Patch Notes -- League Play Changes And More Treyarch has released the latest update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and it affects several different game modes, including standard competitive multiplayer, Zombies, and League Play. If you were participating in League Play this weekend, you may need to think of a new strategy to replace your trusty RC-XD scorestreak. The RC-XD is restricted in League Play, meaning you'll want to come up with a new low-level alternative before you're caught off-guard by this change. Additionally, friendly fire has been changed slightly, converting to ricochet damage after the second team-kill and returning damage toward the attacker. Should you get two more team-kills, you will be kicked from the match. Now Playing: Call of Duty Firebase Z New Zombie Map Other changes include fixing an issue on the Express map that would let you capture a Hardpoint zone without actually being inside it, and tweaking some UI problems. In Zombies, you also shouldn't be teleported out of the map when others use it in the Village area, nor will you be able to stand on the crafting table. Check out the full patch notes from Treyarch below and make sure you don't miss out on the Double Weapon XP weekend currently running.

How to Build a Raspberry Pi Object Identification Machine In this tutorial, we will train our Raspberry Pi to identify other Raspberry Pis (or other objects of your choice) with Machine Learning (ML). Why is this important? An example of an industrial application for this type of ML is identifying defects in circuit boards. As circuit boards exit the assembly line, a machine can be trained to identify a defective circuit board for troubleshooting by a human. We have discussed ML and Artificial Intelligence in previous articles, including facial recognition and face mask identification. In the facial recognition and face mask identification projects, all training images were stored locally on the Pi and the model training took a long time as it was also performed on the Pi. In this article, we’ll use a web platform called Edge Impulse to create and train our model to alleviate a few processing cycles from our Pi. Another advantage of Edge Impulse is the ease of uploading training images, which can be done from a smartphone (without an app). We will use BalenaCloudOS instead of the standard Raspberry Pi OS since the folks at Balena have pre-built an API call to Edge Impulse. The previous facial recognition and face mask identification tutorials also required tedious command line package installs and Python code. This project eliminates all terminal commands and instead utilizes an intuitive GUI interface.

XIAOMI MI 11 TEARDOWN: SEE EVERYTHING HIDDEN INSIDE! The break up of the Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone continues! This time JerryRigEverything began to study the internal structure of the new flagship smartphone of the Chinese brand. The phone features a simple removal of the battery, which always favorably affects the maintainability. An advanced cooling system, which includes a lot of copper (not only on the motherboard, but also on the camera), thermal grease, and graphite films, also attracted the attention of the disassembly specialist. The Youtuber looked at the very small 20-megapixel front camera, and at the Harman Kardon speakers, and at the rest of the hardware of the gadget. XIAOMI MI 11 IS BEING PROMOTED ON A LARGE SCALE Xiaomi this week unveiled the global version of its flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 11, while simultaneously launching a massive advertising campaign around the world. Redmi Note 10 Besides the Mi branded phones that are doing quite well in the high-end segment, the company’s Redmi branch is also bringing a lot of money. So far, the Redmi Note series has shipped more than 200 million units around the world. For comparison, that number was just 140 million in November of last year and 100 million in October 2019. We expect these numbers to reach a new higher spot in 2020 with the arrival of the Redmi Note 10 series. Just like the Chinese Redmi Note 9 series, we expect Redmi to bring at least two 5G smartphones in the Redmi Note 10 series.

Halo: MCC Is Testing Mouse-And-Keyboard Support For Consoles Halo: The Master Chief Collection continues to get new content--both on consoles and PC--more than six years after its release, and that also applies to the "flighting" pre-release program that brings new features and updates to Halo Insider members before they go live in the public game. In the next flight, a number of big features are getting added, including mouse-and-keyboard support on console. Yes, this would have seemed borderline sacrilegious in a Halo game just a few years ago, but times are changing. Around February 18, but possibly slightly later, the next public flight for Halo: The Master Chief Collection will add mouse-and-keyboard play on consoles. Other console-specific features include FOV slider support on Xbox One, as well as an unlocked FOV slider for Xbox Series X|S if you're running your devices at 120hz. This option was previously not available at this setting. Now Playing: Halo: The Master Chief Collection - Halo 4 "Wake Up, John" Trailer Other features coming with the flight include a new Halo 3 map originally seen in the Russian game Halo Online, which was lost after the game was shut down. Who would have thought that we'd get a new map for that game more than 13 years after it released? Custom game browsers and more Season 6 content will also be available in the flight, as well as double keybindings and new audio options. 343 is certainly doing its best to keep players interested as we continue waiting for Halo Infinite. The game is expected to arrive later this year after being delayed from its original Xbox Series X|S launch day release date.

Refreshed Intel Comet Lake CPUs Arrive in Malaysia Intel's recently announced Core i3 Comet Lake refresh CPUs have already made it to Malaysia, according to a Reddit post. A user shared images of what appear to be two Core i3-10105F CPUs in newly designed product packaging that had apparently arrived at a Malaysian retailer. These chips are presumably being stocked up in preparation for release next month alongside 11th Gen Rocket Lake. The new refreshed Core i3 lineup will live alongside Intel's upcoming Rocket Lake Core i5, i7, and i9 based chips looking to upset today's best gaming CPUs. It's been reported that Intel won't include i3 chips in its Rocket Lake lineup, instead refreshing the 10th Gen Comet Lake-S microarchitecture for the Core i3. The Core i3-10105F shared by the Malaysian store is equipped with four CPU cores, eight threads and a 3.7 GHz boost frequency. We have yet to see its boost frequency and what model of integrated graphics it will offer. However, we're expecting Intel HD 630 or 610 graphics. Frankly, this isn't much of a performance jump compared to the chip's predecessor, the Core i3-10100F, which comes with a 3.6 GHz base clock. Hopefully, the i3-10105F will get a much higher boost clock to compete against the i3-10100F's 4.3 GHz. The launch date for Rocket Lake is March 2021, and we can expect Intel's Comet Lake refresh to follow that same timeline, especially with evidence of Malaysian stores already stocking up on the new Core i3 models.

BBC News banned in China, one week after CGTN's license withdrawn in the UK Atlanta (CNN Business)In an apparent tit-for-tat move, BBC World News has been banned from airing in China, according to a statement from China's National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) on Thursday. The announcement comes one week after Ofcom, the British media regulator, said it had withdrawn a license for China Global Television Network, or CGTN, to broadcast in the United Kingdom. China's NRTA claimed in its statement that BBC World News had broadcast reports on China that "infringed the principles of truthfulness and impartiality in journalism." On February 4, China's Foreign Ministry criticized the broadcaster for its coverage of China's response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and dismissed its reports as "fake news." "We are disappointed that the Chinese authorities have decided to take this course of action," a BBC spokesperson said in a statement to CNN Business. "The BBC is the world's most trusted international news broadcaster and reports on stories from around the world fairly, impartially and without fear or favor." Frustrations over coverage Beijing has also repeatedly expressed frustration with BBC reporting on China's crackdown on Uyghur and other ethnic Muslim minorities in the western region of Xinjiang. The BBC has run reports claiming that women have been systematically raped, sexually abused, and tortured at camps in the region, where the US State Department estimates that up to 2 million people have allegedly been put into internment camps. Beijing — which maintains that the camps are vocational training centers that help to deradicalize citizens — has accused the broadcaster of going on "a spree to spread explicit falsehoods about China's policy" in the region. The BBC has said it stands by its reporting as fair and accurate. UK pulls license of Chinese state-owned broadcaster CGTN It is unclear how much impact China's ban of BBC World News will have in mainland China. The BBC has never been allowed to broadcast in mainland China or into Chinese homes. BBC World News was only ever been available in international hotels. But the ban has also spread to Hong Kong, where Beijing has increasingly been exerting control. On Friday, public broadcaster Radio Television Hong Kong, or RTHK, announced that it would suspend airing BBC World Service and BBC News Weekly. "China's decision to ban BBC World News in mainland China is an unacceptable curtailing of media freedom," Britain's Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said in a statement. "China has some of the most severe restrictions on media and internet freedoms across the globe and this latest step will only damage China's reputation in the eyes of the world." Retaliation? The decision to yank BBC News off Chinese airwaves comes just a week after British media regulators pulled the license of China's state-owned international news channel CGTN. Ofcom said at the time that the broadcaster's owner, Star China Media Limited, did not have "editorial responsibility" for the channel's output, and therefore "does not meet the legal requirement of having control over the licensed service." Regulators also rejected a proposal by CGTN to transfer the license to a new entity after finding that it would ultimately still be controlled by the Chinese Communist Party, and therefore disqualified under UK law. That move followed longstanding tensions between British regulators and the Chinese broadcaster. Ofcom had previously ruled that CGTN repeatedly breached impartiality standards with its coverage of protests in Hong Kong.
