  2. The Lord of the Rings is one of the most important franchises in the world of fantasy and many of us have fallen in love with it either because of the original books by J.R.R. Tolkien, for his adaptation to the cinema and also for some forays he has had into the world of video games with considerable success such as Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor (and its sequel), The Lord of the Rings Online or The Lord of the Rings : The Battle for Middle Earth. Now we have a new video game based on the work of the British writer, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, a game that is committed to the survival genre that was so fashionable not so long ago in the sector and that, despite Since it complies with most of its aspects, it is practically based only on this license. In terms of performance, we, with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 together with an i9-11900K processor, 64 GB of RAM, NVMe SSD storage and Windows 11, have been able to play at 60 FPS with a resolution of 1440p, NVIDIA DLSS in Quality mode and high graphics, not being able to enjoy a higher rate because the game is limited to 60 images per second that have been stable at all times, while testing it with the ROG Ally we have been able to play at 1080p on media with AMD FSR in quality mode at about 45 FPS. 6. Building a Leeds tram system Funding the Shipley bypass, the Blyth relief road, and 70 other road schemes Electrifying train lines in north Wales Resurfacing roads across the country Extending the £2 bus fare cap until the end of December 2024, which was due to rise to £2.50 He also said he would protect £12bn to "better connect" Manchester and Liverpool - although this will not necessarily be with high-speed rail. Sir Keir said these were "reheated old proposals" the government had already committed finances to. The Integrated Rail Plan for the North and Midlands shows £5.25bn has already been committed to these projects. Green Party co-leader Carla Denyer accused Mr Sunak of ending up with the "worst of all worlds" by cancelling the second leg of HS2. The Greens did not support the project, but Ms Denyer told BBC Midlands Today that by "not building the onwards legs, it ends up being the worst of both worlds". "Where the Midlands ends up being a commuter belt for London, and yet we don't have benefits for the North of England connecting better to the Midlands," she added. Reform UK leader Richard Tice told the BBC HS2 was a "wretched" and "absurd" scheme which had wasted tens of billions of pounds of taxpayers' money, and his party had always said 'scrap it'. During his BBC interviews, Sir Keir also attacked Mr Sunak's ability to deliver change, saying he was the "nodding dog who nodded through the decisions that he now says are so terrible". "The change we need is a change from the Tory government, not more of a Tory government," he added. The Labour leader said his party would "bulldoze through the barriers" in the way of house building if elected at the next general election. Challenged on what he would do if opposed by people who did not want housing development, he said: "We have to get the balance right, but for young people, young families, the dream of home ownership has been completely taken away from them - we have to restore that." https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-67016873
  7. Human voices cause considerably more fear in wild mammals than the sound of lions, a study in South Africa has found. Scientists played recordings of people talking normally through speakers hidden at water holes in the Kruger National Park. About 95% of animals were extremely frightened and quickly ran away. In contrast, recordings of snarling and growling lions elicited significantly less alarm. The human speech they chose to play included local languages commonly spoken in the country. Some elephants, in response to the big cat calls, even attempted to confront the source of the sound. The study's findings suggest that the animals, which included antelopes, elephants, giraffes, leopards and warthogs, have learnt that contact with humans is extremely dangerous, due to hunting, gun use and the use of dogs to catch them. The fear exhibited goes beyond the Kruger National Park, showing a global pattern where wildlife tend to fear humans more than any other predator, according to the study. The authors note that this poses a challenge for areas which rely on wildlife tourism, because the human visitors they want to attract are inadvertently scaring off the animals they have come to see. But the findings also open up the potential to protect vulnerable species in these ecosystems. Human sounds, when used appropriately, could help protect against illegal poaching. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-67023033
  8. Legendary Pakistan off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq currently holds the record after achieving the feat in 53 matches Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan's ace pacer, could break a record during the World Cup 2023, set to kick off on October 5 in India. The young fast bowler, who has bagged 86 wickets in 44 matches so far, could become the fastest to reach 100 ODI wickets for Pakistan. Legendary Pakistan off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq currently holds the record after achieving the feat in 53 matches. In order to break Saqlain's record, Shaheen needs to claim 14 wickets in his next eight matches. It must be noted that Pakistan are currently playing Australia in their second warm-up game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Following a defeat in their previous warm-up match against New Zealand by five wickets, Pakistan will be eager to address their shortcomings in this game. Meanwhile, Australia's prior warm-up clash against the Netherlands was called off due to rain. This fixture carries great significance for both teams as it provides a valuable chance to refine their tactics, evaluate player performance, and adapt to the current conditions in preparation for the prestigious tournament. The ICC World Cup 2023 will take place in India with 10 teams fighting for the elusive title across 10 venues from October 5 to November 19, with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosting the tournament opener and the final. 9. The coming from India on its way to its original home in Britain passed through Turkey (Anatolia) 3 generations and a 73 year old car This trip - organized by three generations of one family - in a 73-year-old car, is the first of its kind to travel from India to its original homeland in Britain. Daman Thakuri, the current owner of the car - which he named "Lal Pari" - narrated the details of the trip of a lifetime, its beginnings, the countries they will visit, in addition to the duration of this adventure. “My parents bought a 1950 MG YT and we named it Lal Bari, which means (red angel),” Thakuri said. He also explained what this car means to him and his entire family, and what their message is to the whole world. Speaking to Anadolu, Thakuri said, "My mother used to tell me stories before bed, as we were always exposed to dangerous situations, and a red car would come to save us during the stories." Describing the “source of the idea,” Thakuri said, “Because our car is British-made, we thought of driving it along the road to its original homeland.” He added, "We are three generations of one family, trying to become the first Indians to take a car dating back to 1950, registered in India, to travel overland to the British capital, London." The current owner of the car named it "Lal Bari", meaning red angel (Anatolia) Traveling 12 thousand kilometers and crossing 16 countries This is the first time their beloved classic car will travel outside India, for a trip lasting a few weeks. The plan is to travel a distance of 12,000 km and cross 16 countries. Thakuri (50 years old) set out from the city of Ahmedabad in the Indian state of Gujarat (northwest), and headed to Dubai on board a ship, then crossed into Iran and entered Turkey by land, and stopped in the Cappadocia region of the Nevsehir state (central Turkey). Thakuri said, "My father, uncle, and I started leading Lal Bari successively from India until now, where we visited Dubai and Iran, and now we are in Turkey." Moving on to their stop in Eastern Europe, their adventure will take them to Greece, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Albania, then Montenegro and Croatia. They will then cross Italy, France, Belgium and the Netherlands and reach the United Kingdom, within their sights. Daman Thakuri also explained what this car means to him and his entire family (Anatolia) Donate smiles “We have given a lot for this car to get it running again,” Thakuri said, describing the excitement Lal Bari inspires wherever they go. After passing through many communities during this trip, he said, "If people would provide more support for others, the world would be better off." He added, "If you have money, you can donate it, but we have 'lal bari' and we donate smiles to people." Car owner: The car aims to spread the message of love and joy (Anatolia) Eternal memories Thakuri described himself as "a common person who aims to spread the message of love and joy, represent unity and Indian values, and convey the message that people should follow their dreams and take care of their loved ones." He stressed that "life is not always easy, and you cannot always be happy, so people must accept it with all its difficulties and be patient with it." He concluded his speech, "The journey through Lal Bari is an important part of my life, as it taught us all how to face different experiences, in addition to the lesson learned, which is that exploration and adventure remain eternal over time." https://www.aljazeera.net/lifestyle/2023/10/1/
  10. An armed man demanding to speak to the Wisconsin governor was arrested in the state capitol, posted bail, and returned - only to be arrested again. The shirtless man, who had a holstered handgun, was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon for illegally carrying a firearm in the building. But he posted bail and returned that evening with an assault-style rifle. Governor Tony Evers, a Democrat, was not in his capitol office at the time, according to a state official. But the governor's office itself declined to comment, telling the BBC "we do not comment on specific security threats or the governor's security detail". Mr Evers had been present in the Capitol earlier on Wednesday to meet individuals testifying against a series of bills. Speaking to reporters at an event in Oregon on Thursday, he said: "The capitol police took control of the situation so it's over, but it's always something you don't want to see happen." "I never, ever talk about what my security detail does or what they're planning on doing. But anytime something like this happens, obviously they re-evaluate," he added. The armed man approached Mr Evers' office around 15:00 EST (19:00 GMT) on Wednesday, according to Tatyana Warrick, a spokeswoman for the Wisconsin Department of Administration. She said he had a leashed dog with him when he appeared at the security desk outside the governor's office and refused to leave until he met Mr Evers. A single police officer sits at the desk on the building's first floor, which also houses a conference room and offices for the attorney general. The public has free access to the capitol building and there are no metal detectors at entryways. Weapons can be brought into the building if they are concealed and the carrier holds a valid permit, but the man was carrying it openly and did not have a permit. _131342229_gettyimages-1230643043.jpg.we But after being booked into the local Dane County Jail, he posted bail and returned again to the capitol grounds just before 22:00 EST carrying a loaded AK 47-style rifle. The building closes at 19:00 EST. Officers spoke to him, asked to search his backpack and found "a collapsible police-style baton, which is illegal as the man did not have a valid concealed carry permit," Ms Warrick said. The would-be assailant was taken into custody a second time on Wednesday night for a psychiatric evaluation "based on concerning statements", she said. Ms Warrick could not confirm to the BBC if the man remains in custody. Police for the city of Madison also did not confirm the man's whereabouts, but said in a police report: "The subject was taken into protective custody and conveyed to a local hospital." The man has not yet been publicly identified, but capitol police named the man in a bulletin sent to lawmakers and their staff on Thursday with his photo attached. Police said he told them he "would continue coming to the capitol until he spoke to the governor about domestic abuse towards men". They added that he "likely has access to a large amount of weapons and is comfortable using them", and that lawmakers should "use extreme caution when in contact" with him. No court charges appeared to have been filed against the man as of Thursday. Evers has become a target of violent threats Public and elected officials across the US currently face a rising number of threats in violence. They include high-profile figures, such as governors and Supreme Court judges, as well as lesser-known individuals like local school board members. Mr Evers was elected Wisconsin's governor in 2018 and was re-elected last year, both times by narrow margins in a state that is closely contested between the two parties. The former educator's governorship has effectively served as a one-man veto against several pieces of Republican-backed legislation. In June, a Madison resident was sentenced to one year in prison for making dozens of threats, via voicemail, email, Facebook and other methods, against Mr Evers and other state officials. His warnings to Mr Evers were of a highly graphic nature, including messages that referred to the governor as a "dead man walking" and "a marked man". Thursday's incident comes more than a year after Mr Evers appeared on the hit list of a gunman previously accused of zip-tying and fatally shooting a retired county judge at his Wisconsin home. The hit list with Mr Evers' name on it also included those of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Michigan's Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer, the target of a kidnapping plot in 2020. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-67022404

  16. Contest [1] The story of Amara Rushdie The building known as the “Afaret Building” is located in eastern Alexandria, Egypt, and dates back to 1961. It was owned by the Greek Pardis, who decided to build it to live in with his wife and five children. But he and his children died during their hunting trip, so the wife decided to sell the building and return to Greece. The second owner of the building, Mohsen Bey, decided to rent the apartment on the first floor of the building to a family. But after only two days, a massive fire broke out that completely destroyed the house, and the head of the family died, so his family decided to move as quickly as possible. A doctor rented the second floor of the building to establish his practice. But after preparing the clinic with all the equipment and days before the opening date, the doctor died in a car accident. The third and fourth floors were rented by a foreign company, which suffered huge losses and then went bankrupt, forcing the owner of the company to go into debt. He was subsequently imprisoned and then decided to commit suicide. Then a young man rented one of the floors to live there after his marriage, but he started hearing strange noises coming from the bathroom. After the workers finished the necessary arrangements, the young man received his house. He then saw spots of blood on the wall, but he did not care much about it, thinking that someone was messing with him. Hours after his wedding, the groom and bride's family were found unconscious in the middle of the road. At the same time, the groom found his family in his house, but in the form of a jinn! The Rushdie Building has become one of the most terrifying places, as anyone passing by it feels in awe just by looking at it. Despite this, one of the sheikhs suggested that he try to remove the jinn from the building and live in it and try to stay for 6 days! But he came out on the seventh day with signs of fear and terror on his face, and died instantly without uttering a single word. After many accidents occurred in this mysterious building, the authorities decided to close it forever so that others would not be harmed because of it. After several years, a company redesigned it and turned it into an upscale residential unit, but people are still in awe of its residents! Contest [2]: Number : 13 Contest [3]: Goblins
