Hearthstone's next expansion will add one of the most requested classes to the game at last. March of the Lich King will include 145 new cards, alongside 68 new Death Knight cards to define the new class. The core Death Knight cards will be added for free for all players, while the rest of the new cards will be obtainable through packs. That's not the only big new addition to the card pool. March of the Lich King will introduce Signature cards, a new level of rarity that includes special card art. Each expansion will include its own look for the Signature cards. You can't craft or disenchant them. March of the Lich King will include 18 Signature cards. The new Death Knight's cards look very different than the norm, too, thanks to one of its unique mechanics. Death Knights use a special Rune system to determine their special abilities from three types: Blood, Frost, or Unholy. Each rune takes up one of three slots, letting you build 10 different combinations. For example, you could slot in two Blood and one Frost rune, letting you use Level 2 Blood spells and Level 1 Frost spells. Or you could place Blood in all three Rune slots to use the most powerful Blood spells, but you'd be unable to use any Frost or Unholy spells. The Death Knight will also have a unique corpse counter, which acts as a resource for some spells. Every time a minion dies it adds another body to the Lich King's corpses, which can then be tapped to cast your abilities. March of the Lich King is coming on December 6, with card reveals scheduled to come regularly until the release date. Preorders are now available for March of the Lich King bundles. In the lead-up to the launch, Blizzard has brought back all of the cards from the previous Death Knight-themed expansion, Knights of the Frozen Throne. You can also login now to claim a free card from the upcoming expansion, the neutral legendary spell The Sunwell, which you can put into your decks now. You can check out all of the cards we've seen so far below. LINK: https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/hearthstone-march-of-the-lich-king-all-the-cards-revealed-so-far/2900-4443/#10

Egis previously contributed to the construction of Morocco’s Kenitra-Tanger high-speed railway. Rabat - French construction, and engineering company Egis announced that it has signed an agreement with Morocco’s national railway office (ONCF) for the construction of the Kenitra-Marrakech high-speed railway. In a statement published on November 8, Egis states that it is set to “assist in the external control of the 430 km Kenitra-Marrakech high-speed line.” The French company had previously contributed to the construction of Morocco’s Kenitra-Tanger high-speed railway. The current project is set to extend the high-speed line to reach Marrakech. According to the company’s statement, the project is made up of three phases. First a 150-kilometer-long line connecting Kenitra to Ain Sebaa is constructed. That is followed by a second line connecting Ain Sebaa to Nouaceur with a 130-kilometer-long line, and concluded with a 212-kilometer line joining Nouaceur and Marrakech. The Kenitra-Marrakech high-speed railway project is part of Morocco’s larger vision to interconnect urban spaces and boost the country’s transportation infrastructure to support business activities. After launching the Casablanca-Marrakech-Agadir high-speed train connection, Morocco is now aiming to open a new line linking the capital Rabat to Fez. In July of 2022, news reports indicated that ONCF concluded feasibility studies relating to the construction of another high-speed railway connecting Fez to Rabat. The studies concern the first part of the railroad linking Rabat, Khemisset, and Meknes. Morocco’s ambitious strategy would see the construction of 1,300 kilometers of railways linking 43 cities, according to official data quoted in converging news reports. Rishi Sunak is promising to "call out Putin's regime" at a gathering of world leaders in Indonesia. The prime minister is travelling to Bali on Sunday afternoon for a summit of the G20 - the world's biggest economies. British officials had prepared for this get-together assuming Russia's president would be there. The prime minister was expected to join other world leaders in condemning Vladimir Putin to his face. But Moscow said last week he wouldn't be attending and the Kremlin would be sending Russia's foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, instead. So the words of anger will be directed at him. Speaking before setting off for Indonesia, the prime minister said: "Putin's war has caused devastation around the world - destroying lives and plunging the international economy into turmoil. "This G20 summit will not be business as usual. We will call out Putin's regime, and lay bare their utter contempt for the kind of international cooperation and respect for sovereignty forums like the G20 represent." The G20 is a hotchpotch of countries with little in common beyond big economies. An economic forum whose members have been hammered, economically, by one of their own, Russia. So the backdrop is awkward, to say the least. There won't even be one of the basic diplomatic niceties of these gatherings this time, what is known as the family photo, where the leaders pose for a group picture. The other leaders refuse to be seen smiling in the presence of Russia. Recent precedent suggests another usual staple of these affairs, what is known as a communique, a set of agreed conclusions published at the close of the summit, probably won't happen either. Almost three weeks into the job, this is Mr Sunak's second overseas trip as prime minister, after last week's dash to the COP27 climate summit in Egypt. He managed to see a good number of fellow European leaders in Sharm el-Sheikh. The trip to Bali will mean he can meet plenty from the Indo-Pacific region, a part of the world the government has been increasingly focused on since Brexit. And, perhaps, a first chance to meet US President Joe Biden. What are Rishi Sunak's instincts as a world leader? I told Liz Truss she was going too fast, says Kwasi Kwarteng Meanwhile, back home, as Laura Kuenssberg writes, the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt will continue preparing what is called the Autumn Statement, a budget in all but name, to be delivered on Thursday, just hours after the prime minister gets back home. Downing Street is seeking to frame both the summit and the Autumn Statement as responses to the same shock: the consequences of the war in Ukraine. A desperate global economic situation, as they describe it, with big domestic implications, that they seek to be trusted to grapple with, after the chaos of the Liz Truss administration. But a fractious summit followed by what many will see as a bad news Budget won't make for an easy week for Mr Sunak. link : https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-63610049

In cognitive tests for recognizing certain types of patterns, crows outperformed monkeys. Crows are notoriously clever — the songbirds can use tools, understand the concept of zero and follow basic analogies. Now, a new study suggests that their grasp of one complex cognitive principle in particular is better than that of monkeys and comparable to that of small children. Researchers found that crows can distinguish paired elements buried in larger sequences, a cognitive ability known as recursion. Consider the sentence: "The cat the dog chased meowed." Although the sentence is admittedly a grammatical nightmare, most adults would quickly understand that the cat meowed and that the dog chased the cat. This capacity to pair elements like "cat" to "meow" and "dog" to "chase" in a sentence, or any sequence, was once thought to be a uniquely human trait. The new study, however, suggests that crows can do it too. And this latest research builds on previous work demonstrating the existence of recursive reasoning among monkeys. "One of the most distinguishing features of human communicative cognition may turn out not to be that human-specific after all," lead author Diana A. Liao, a postdoctoral candidate at the University of Tübingen in Germany, told Live Science in an email. Grammar isn't the only place where recursion occurs. Our ears can distinguish a musical phrase within a larger piece, and our minds can set aside a mathematical expression embedded between parentheses. Indeed, a 2020 study published in the journal Science Advances(opens in new tab) demonstrated that people can follow recursive patterns even without a formal background in reading and mathematics. In that study, people from isolated Amazonian tribes identified recursive patterns about as well as adults living in the U.S. did. Nonhuman primates also demonstrated an ability to understand recursion; the same study found that rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta) were only slightly inferior to toddlers when it came to distinguishing paired elements, such as opened and closed brackets, from a morass of symbols. link: https://www.livescience.com/crows-understand-recursive-reasoning

A new generation of the hybrid hatchback will be revealed for the Los Angeles auto show next week, and these teasers give a glimpse at its styling. Toyota released teaser images for a new model that is clearly the next-generation Prius. The new hybrid will debut next week, on November 16, at the L.A. auto show. This will be the fifth-generation Prius and it should go on sale in the U.S. sometime next year. UPDATE 11/12/22: Toyota has released another teaser image of the new Prius that shows its front end. The new model appears to have a lower, wider stance that the current car, and its headlights hint at sharper styling. It's the Toyota Prius hybrid's turn for a big redesign, if these new teaser photos from Toyota are any indication. The images, shared on Toyota's Japanese social media channels, confirm a reveal date of November 16 and say "Hybrid Reborn," meaning this new model could be nothing other than Toyota's original hybrid hatchback. This will be the Prius's fifth generation, and its silhouette looks quite familiar. But the recognizable shape, which helps with the car's aerodynamic profile, may include some new detailing. The headlight in one teaser image looks similar to the design language we've seen on some Toyota concept cars, including some of the company's recent EV concepts and the Japan-market Toyota Crown compact crossover, referred to as the Sport-type. We're not sure exactly what to expect from the Prius's new hybrid powertrain, but we're sure it will aim for higher fuel economy than the current version, which achieves an EPA rating of up to 56 mpg combined. The Prius Prime plug-in hybrid is likely to return, and should offer a larger battery pack to provide improved electric-only range compared with the outgoing car's 25-mile range on a fully charged battery. link : https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a41909581/2023-toyota-prius-confirmed/

Your friendship may survive your sobriety, but you will need to set boundaries and stick to them The question I left London to start a new life in the country before the pandemic, aged 45. The reasons for me doing so were numerous. However, one of the biggest was to get sober. My life in London was no longer sustainable and doing me considerable mental, emotional and physical harm. My drinking had got out of control and the occasional party cocaine use of my 20s had turned into a regular and self-destructive habit. Two-and-a-half years on I am in a much better place and have found that contentment can be found in sobriety. I love waking up feeling fresh and positive rather than fighting through constant hangovers. I’ve formed new friendships based on more than getting messed up together. I do feel sad, though, that I’ve left some friends behind. There is one girlfriend I was especially close to. We shared some amazing adventures together. Thinking about it, these were always based on getting wasted. The last time we met was on a Saturday morning (to try and minimise the opportunity to go to the pub). When I arrived she was already noticeably drunk. At a café I ordered a mineral water and her a bottle of wine. I told her about the positive journey I have been on and about the therapy and groups that helped me and urged her to give it a go. She refused, then accused me of abandoning her. I feel she’s right, but I don’t know what we have in common now. I don’t want to be dragged back to where I was and from her I feel that kind of pull. I feel incredibly guilty. Philippa’s answer This is about the need to have boundaries. You have been good about setting them for yourself and that has changed your life around, but now you must let your friend know what your boundaries are. We don’t normally set terms and conditions in friendships. Usually we instinctively understand how not to tread on each other’s toes, but sometimes boundaries need to be spelled out. You must decide where you are going to draw the line and be clear about it. Whenever we put a boundary down with anyone, we need to know where our own limit is. Perhaps you would feel tempted to join her when she’s drinking or using drugs. If so, that would be your limit. Protect yourself from getting to that limit by putting a boundary down before you reach it. So rather than hoping she won’t be drinking if you next decide to meet up you can say, “I will not meet with you if you are drinking.” If she thinks this isn’t possible, then don’t meet. If she promises she won’t and then does, you leave. When you have a boundary in place, you don’t have to be cruel about it, you can put it in place kindly and explain why you need it, but you must be sufficiently resolved to keep that boundary. One reader of this column once left a comment saying that if you have to choose between guilt or resentment, choose guilt – wise words. And this is what I urge you to do, choose guilt. link: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2022/nov/13/ask-philippa-perry-i-am-now-sober-but-feel-guilty-about-a-friend-i-left-behind

PHNOM PENH — Four meals, three time zones and two nights on a plane. It’s a grueling schedule for any U.S. president whenever they travel to Asia. President Joe Biden, who turns 80 this month, arrived in Cambodia on Saturday after spending nearly twenty-four hours traveling from Washington to Egypt and Phnom Penh. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that Biden called Oregon Governor-elect Tina Kotek on the first of two long-haul flights that brought him to Asia. He also spent time checking in with White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. "He's been meeting with his team talking about the next couple of days," she told reporters traveling with Biden on Air Force One. Biden’s (very long) day: The president left Washington, D.C. late Thursday evening and delivered remarks on Friday touting U.S. investments in clean energy at the COP27 conference in Sharm el-Sheikh before he landed in Phnom Penh. First order of business: He sat down with the country’s strongman President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The leaders discussed human rights and Biden pushed for the release of political prisoners, the White House said. What’s on the agenda: A bilateral meeting with Cambodia’s prime minister, Hun Sen, a photo with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) leaders and a gala dinner. Where Biden's at now: Taking some downtime after two nearly back-to-back flights that lasted between nine and 10 hours each and a busy evening of events. Gourmet experience: Air Force One passengers were served “honey chicken biscuits," a brunch of “spinach & artichoke egg soufflé” and a "harvest chicken salad” with apples, pecans, cranberries and crumbled goat cheese for dinner. For breakfast, the menu was a “blueberry maple chia parfait” and a “bacon, egg & cheese bagel." Country mistakes: In remarks at the opening session of ASEAN, Biden referred mistakenly referred to Colombia instead of Cambodia. And it wasn't the first time. He called his host nation Colombia as he left the White House on Thursday evening. link": https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2022/11/12/biden-flies-across-globe-key-meetings-asia-and-eventually-europe/10675998002/

The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition is expected to have similar specifications to the Axon 40 Ultra, apart from RAM, storage, and cosmetic upgrades ZTE, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer that introduced the Axon 40 Ultra featuring an under-display front camera and a sleek design earlier this year, may now be working on a special Ultra Space Edition of the smartphone series, according to the company's President of Mobile Devices Ni Fei. Last year, the smartphone manufacturer launched a similar special Edition to the Axon 30 Ultra, featuring 18GB of RAM and 1TB of in-built storage capacity. However, Fei did not reveal any specifications of the rumoured ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition smartphone. ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition first public revelation was made through Fei's Weibo post, as he teased images clicked on the purported smartphone. As mentioned above, the company also launched an Aerospace Edition to the Axon 30 Ultra last year. However, the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra Aerospace Edition did not feature any specification upgrades from the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G, apart from an increase in RAM and storage capacity, and a cosmetic touch-up that featured a Taikonaut logo, which is used to denote a Chinese Astronaut, on the back of the special edition smartphone. The upcoming Space Edition from Chinese smartphone maker, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition, is also expected to follow suit in terms of RAM and storage upgrades that could translate to the smartphone featuring 18GB RAM and 1TB storage, while also sporting the cosmetic Taikonaut touchup on the back of the smartphone, according to Gizchina. Meanwhile, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra features a 6.81-inch AMOLED display panel that supports a Full HD+ resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels while offering a 120Hz refresh rate, a 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, 10-bit colour, 400 PPI pixel density, and 1500nits of brightness. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC which is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The handset is powered by a 5,000mAh battery which also supports 65W fast charging. LINK : https://www.gadgets360.com/mobiles/news/zte-axon-40-ultra-aerospace-edition-launch-teased-report-3514493

Today, Apple has seen fit to release a new firmware update for AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro 1, and AirPods Max. Additionally, the company has also released its latest firmware update for AirTags. If you happen to own any of the listed products above, you can install the latest firmware updates right now. Apple Seeds 5B58 FIrmware Version to AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro 1, and AirPods Max Apple's latest firmware update for its AirPods lineup is version 5B58, an update from the previous 4E71 firmware. The latter update was released back in May. As for what is new, it is too early to ask as Apple has not made the release notes available at this point. However, the 5B58 update was released for the AirPods Pro 2 last week that included "bug fixes and performance improvements." Apple will update its support page with the latest additions. If you are willing to install the latest firmware update on your compatible AirPods, there is no clear way of doing so. This is because the update is installed over the air when the AirPods are connected to an iOS device. Check out what you should do. How to Install AirPods Firmware Update Step 1: Put the AirPods in the case. Step 2: Connect the AirPods to a power source. Step 3: Pair the AirPods with an iPhone or an iPad. This is all that you have to do to download and install the latest firmware update on AirPods. The update will be installed automatically in a short while. If you are not sure if your AirPods are running the latest firmware update, see how you can check. Step 1: The first thing that you have to do is connect your AirPods to your iPhone or iPad. Step 2: Launch the Settings app on your iPhone and navigate to General. Step 3: Tap on About and then select AirPods. Step 4: See the number next to "Firmware Version." AirTags Firmware Update Other than AirPods, Apple has also released a new AirTags firmware update. The AirTags firmware update comes with a build number 2A24e, updated from 1A301 which was released back in April. Similar to AirPods, Apple has not shared details on what is new in the latest build. You can not force your AirTag to update to the latest version. It will be updated automatically over the air when connected to an iPhone. Make sure that your AirTags are in the range of your iPhone. Just a few days after the Core i9-13900HX, another Intel Raptor Lake Laptop CPU has leaked out, the Core i7-13700HX. Intel Core i7-13700HX 'Raptor Lake' High-End Laptop CPU Rocks 16 Cores & Up To 5.0 GHz Clocks The Intel Core i7-13700HX 'Raptor Lake' CPU will be part of the high-end 13th Gen Laptop CPU line. The HX series utilize the same die as the desktop Raptor Lake-S parts so we will also be looking at a similar set of core configurations. In the case of the Intel Core i7-13700HX, we are getting 16 cores using a 8 P-Core & 8 E-Core layout. This equals to a total of 24 threads which is the same configuration as the current Core i7-13700K or the last-gen Core i9-12900K/KS flagships. The CPU features 30 MB of L3 cache and was seen on the Lenovo 82WQ laptop with 16 GB of DDR5 memory. The CPU featured a 2.10 GHz base clock and boost clocks of up to 5.0 GHz. Intel's 16-Core Raptor Lake-HX chip, the Core i7-13700HX, has leaked out and features up to 5.0 GHz clock speeds. (Image Credits: Benchleaks) The laptop also housed an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU which means that most OEM and laptop vendors will still be relying on existing GeForce RTX 30 series parts rather than waiting for NVIDIA's next-gen RTX 40 GPUs which are expected to make a formal debut at CES 2023. A few months back, Intel announced that they will be releasing their Raptor Lake Mobile CPUs by the end of 2022. They didn't mention if the mobile lineup will include both Raptor Lake-H and Raptor Lake-HX SKUs but it looks like we will be getting both at launch. It is unknown what the company will pair with the new Raptor Lake mobile CPUs but with Arc GPUs mostly lining up close to the Raptor Lake CPUs, it is expected that those would be used entirely on mobile systems such as NUC and Laptops. Former chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng has said he warned Liz Truss she was going too fast with her ill-fated economic plans. In his first interview since he was sacked by the then PM, Mr Kwarteng told TalkTV he had warned her to "slow down" after September's mini-budget. He said he told her it was "mad" to fire him, and she would only last "three or four weeks" if she did. "Little did I know it was only going to be six days," he added. Mr Kwarteng was dramatically fired by Ms Truss in October, two weeks after their tax-cutting mini-budget sparked turmoil on financial markets. She then ditched almost all of the plan in a bid to stay in power, but announced her resignation a few days later - just over six weeks after taking office - as support from Conservative MPs ebbed away. How much market chaos did the mini-budget cause? Labour's shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves said it was "really disgraceful that Kwasi Kwarteng has the cheek to do this interview". "He crashed the economy with his mini budget just a few weeks ago, which has caused untold damage to people," she added. Speaking to TalkTV, Mr Kwarteng said that he had warned Ms Truss about going at a "breakneck speed" with economic measures after the mini-budget. "She said, 'Well, I've only got two years' and I said, 'You will have two months if you carry on like this'. And that is, I'm afraid, what happened." He also said: "I think the prime minister was very much of the view that we needed to move things fast. But I think it was too quick." Mr Kwarteng, a longtime political ally and friend of Ms Truss, revealed the then-PM was "distressed and emotional" when she called him in to be fired, after summoning him back from a trip to the US. He also revealed he found out he was going to be sacked when he saw a journalist tweeting about it while he was in the car going to Downing Street. He said he had told her: "This is mad. Prime ministers don't get rid of chancellors." link: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-63592909

A 3-year-old male Shetland pony named Pumuckel has narrowly missed out on officially being named the world's smallest horse due to a technicality, but he’s likely to gallop off with the title next year. A diminutive pony named Pumuckel was poised to nab the Guinness World Record for the world's smallest horse — but he came up short, due to a slight technicality. But while this year’s celebrations have had to be reined in, the tiny creature is likely to claim the official title next year. Pumuckel, a male Shetland pony, stands 20 inches (50.8 centimeters) tall at the withers, the area where a horse's shoulders meet its mane, which is commonly used to measure equine height. The adorable brown and white horse lives with its owner Carola Weidemann at a farm near Breckerfeld in Germany and is named after "Pumuckl," a tiny imp-like creature created by the German author Ellis Kaut in the 1960s. Despite his size, Pumuckel the pony lives a very active life and often joins a group of slightly larger mini-horses that visit kindergartners and elderly people in homes, according to Reuters(opens in new tab). The biggest difference between him and other horses is that he rides in the passenger seat of a car instead of being towed around in a trailer. For now, at least, the title of world's smallest horse belongs to Bombel, an 8-year-old Appaloosa who stands 22 inches (55.9 cm) tall at the withers and lives on a ranch in Łódź, Poland, according to Guinness World Records(opens in new tab). Pumuckel and Bombel are miniature horses, which are fully grown horses measuring under 34 inches (86.4 cm) tall at the withers, according to the American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA)(opens in new tab). Mini-horses represent around 400 years of artificial selection, in which small horses were mated with other small horses to produce potentially even smaller offspring, according to AMHA. Mini-horses were originally bred to work in tight spaces, such as coal mines, but are now bred exclusively as pets. A side effect of breeding mini-horses is that offspring can occasionally be born with dwarfism, according to AMHA(opens in new tab). Despite their diminutive stature, most mini-horses do not have dwarfism, but most do carry some recessive dwarf genes. Therefore, breeding them together can result in offspring with dwarfism, which can also cause some serious health problems. It is unclear if Pumuckel has dwarfism. Pumuckel does display some signs of dwarfism as described by AMHA, such as unusually short legs, a head larger than its neck and protruding eyes. However, he lacks other hallmarks of the condition, such as misshaped knees, a significant underbite, difficulty walking and scoliosis, or [CENSORED]ture of the spine. Initial reports do not state whether Pumuckel has dwarfism, and as there is no available information on his parents or lineage, so it will likely remain a mystery unless genetic tests are carried out. Regardless of his lineage and size, Pumuckel is adored by his owner and everyone else who meets him. He is an "incredible friend," Weidemann said. "You constantly want to cuddle him, caress him and love him." link: https://www.livescience.com/unofficial-worlds-smallest-horse

First four Volvo EVs are SUVs but CEO Jim Rowan says lower-slung models could follow Volvo will retain a “tight” and focused product range in its electric-only future, according to company boss Jim Rowan – but while there will be an early focus on SUVs, he hinted that the firm will eventually offer other bodystyles. The Swedish firm’s sales in recent years have been dominated by high-riding models and its first three electric cars – the Volvo XC40, Volvo C40 and new Volvo EX90 – are all SUVs. They will be followed next year by a new small electric crossover model. Volvo recently pulled the S60 from sale as it re-evaluates its line-up in the UK for the coming model year, although the machine will continue to be offered in other markets. Asked if saloon and estate models would play a part in Volvo’s future, Rowan refused to be drawn on specifics, but said: “Suffice to say we play across all the spectrums and range, and we have customers who require different vehicles, and different uses for vehicles. We’ll try and make sure that we can capture as much of that as we possibly can.” But he added that having “40 different models is not out strategy”. He said: “Our strategy is that we will be tight. We’ll look after the demographic that we think makes sense. We’ve teased what’s coming next, and we’d already signalled we’d do a smaller SUV. Then different formats, saloons and estates or whatever: we’ll get to that when we get to that. ” Rowan noted that electric vehicle design gave car firms more freedom to share technology between vehicles. He said: “The big secret for us is that we can use the generation of technology that we have in one view and transpose it into the other. Sometimes that will be the same platform. Sometimes that will be the same software and silicon. And we’ll put that in different models.” The EX90 is built on the new SPA2 platform, while the forthcoming small SUV is set to use the SEA architecture developed by Volvo and Geely. Rowan hinted that platform will be key to helping lower the cost of future electric models. “We have another platform that takes us into full core computing and takes us into lower cost,” he said. “You need to get to price parity between ICE and BEV. No industry can rely on subsidies for a long period of time. You’ve got to make sure that you can be comparative. “What’s going to happen in the future is that people making big purchase decisions about a car are going to think about what a residual value of an ICE car is going to be in three or four years' time, and should I buy a BEV because it’s going to have a higher residual value? We need to make sure we are positioned in all those markets.” link: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/volvo-plots-saloon-and-estate-evs-after-suv-push

If Britain is on the brink of ruin, then Saturday-night Brighton hasn’t yet got the memo. The queues at Wagamama and Bill’s snake out of their doors, and there are revellers everywhere, revelling. There is not a seat to be had at the mid-price, group-friendly likes of Côte, Browns and Ask. No, these restaurants don’t have the cool factor that small independents do, but there’s a sense that these big beasts will weather the winter freeze to come. Cool, on the other hand, is a fickle and expensive thing to pull off – one of the coolest restaurants I know just put a small plate of jerusalem artichokes up to £19.50, which feels like a lot. Increasingly, when booking a table for a group, the focus is firmly on the cheap and cheerful; somewhere with large tables, tolerable house white and food that fills you up. Into this testy landscape comes Tutto, a capacious, partially art-deco Euro-brasserie serving a menu they describe as “Italian food memories – ours and yours”. More accurately, they serve small portions of pappardelle at £14 a bowl or a chunk of sea bass on some sloppy shallots for £22, while a side of roast new potatoes comes in at a fiver. They don’t make pizzas, but they will do you a salumi board featuring finocchiona, coppa, speck and pickled fennel for £12. If this all feels a tad expensive, well, alas, such is the lie of the land these days: that very cool jerusalem artichoke place I mentioned earlier charges 23 smackers for its potato ravioli. Things are wild out there. Meanwhile, at the slightly more pocket-friendly Tutto, the lasagne “crocchetta” – two large lumps of breaded, deep-fried lasagne – cost a doable £7. But here’s the thing: somewhere in the hasty mass-frying of this lasagne, all the joy of oozing cheese or soothing bechamel or rich beef is lost, leaving you with sturdy slabs of breaded pasta sheets. They’ll line your stomach, but little else. Tutto is terribly lit, too; it is neither romantically twinkly nor usefully bright. They’ve spent a lot on art and the right paint, but the lighting makes it – and, by default, you – drab. Still, the staff are bright and friendly, and the bar can pull off a cold, well-balanced boulevardier, which you certainly won’t get at Pizza Express. The acoustics in the back room are also awful: when a table of 10 sat down next to us, the noise was so bad, I started having to communicate with Charles via WhatsApp. link: https://www.theguardian.com/food/2022/nov/11/tutto-brighton-grace-dent-chefs-here-cant-cook-pasta-restaurant-review

Clinical trials play an important role in the success of mRNA technology. Much of the world first met mRNA technology when it arrived in the form of COVID-19 vaccines. But that was far from the beginning for this transformative technology. Scientists have been studying mRNA technology in areas from infectious diseases to oncology for decades. They are working at the next frontier of medicine, where mRNA technology may allow them to solve problems that were previously insurmountable and potentially help prevent or treat disease in entirely new ways. Besides preventive vaccines for infectious diseases, mRNA could also be used to develop treatments for cancer and rare diseases — and quickly. Once researchers have the genetic sequence of the antigen they want to encode, such as the virus that causes COVID-19, they can design a vaccine or therapeutic, then test it and make any necessary changes to the design more rapidly than previously possible. In addition to the groundbreaking work being done in COVID-19 vaccines, Pfizer is advancing the next wave of innovation through mRNA vaccines for several conditions, including influenza and shingles, diseases where it is known which antigens to include in a vaccine to provide protection. In the case of the flu, we are working quickly to develop vaccine candidates that could target the precise flu virus strains predicted to be the most prevalent in any given season, offering people the best odds against the flu even as the virus continues to evolve. A new era in immunization With an efficacy rate between 40% and 60%, today’s flu vaccines are the best hope at protecting against influenza illness. But with mRNA, there is the potential to do better — giving people an even higher chance of preventing an illness that contributes to hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations and tens of thousands of deaths each year. With an mRNA vaccine, which activates both arms of the immune system, pharmaceutical developers could provide better protection and manufacture doses more quickly than ever before. That is one reason why Pfizer researchers are investing in mRNA technology. To make an mRNA flu vaccine, we begin with the genetic information of the flu strains predicted to be the most prevalent and create an mRNA strand that carries instructions to make a protein found in each of those strains. Once inside the body, the mRNA works in the body’s cells to produce those proteins and trigger the immune system to make antibodies, activating other immune cells to respond to the proteins. This process teaches the body how to protect against future infections from those strains of the flu virus. link: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sponsor-story/pfizerclinical/2022/10/10/how-public-can-play-role-future-mrna-vaccines/7930852001/?mvt=i&mvn=bf2e139a489e4e85bc1d51db41fa3b5a&mvp=NA-USAT-11238597&mvl=Key-tangent-tile AdUnit-%2F7103%2Fusatoday%2Fnative-front_tile%2F* [Tangent Desktop Tile]&utm_campaign=6336755bfff04c09aaa8a6156dfcbacd&utm_source=polar&utm_medium=cpc
