Russia has hit out at comments from the Pope that some minority groups of soldiers have behaved worse than others in the invasion of Ukraine. The "cruellest" troops are generally Chechens and Buryats, Pope Francis told a US magazine. He also labelled the Holodomor famine caused by the Kremlin in Ukraine in the 1930s a genocide. Russia called the remarks a "perversion", and said national groups were "one family". In an interview with America, a Jesuit magazine, Pope Francis was asked about his apparent reluctance to directly condemn Russia for the war. In response he said he received "much information about the cruelty of the troops". "Generally, the cruellest are perhaps those who are of Russia but are not of the Russian tradition, such as the Chechens, the Buryats and so on," he said. The Pope added that "the one who invades is the Russian state". Chechens, an ethnic group originating in Chechnya, in the south-west of Russia, are mostly Muslim. Buryats, a Mongol ethnic group indigenous to Buryatia, in eastern Siberia, traditionally follow Buddhist and shamanic belief systems. Russia contains many republics with distinct ethnic and religious groups. The majority religion is Orthodox Christianity. Putin tells soldiers' mothers he shares their pain Chechen leader vows to send teenage sons to front line The Pope said he had spoken to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky several times by phone, and communicated with Russian President Vladimir Putin through the ambassador to the Holy See. In apparent response to accusations of not directly condemning President Putin, he said: "Sometimes I try not to specify so as not to offend and rather condemn in general, although it is well known whom I am condemning. It is not necessary that I put a name and surname." Later in the interview the Pope added: "Everyone knows my stance, with Putin or without Putin, without naming him." Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the comments, state-controlled news outlet RT reports. "This is no longer Russophobia, it's a perversion on a level I can't even name," she said. "We are one family with Buryats, Chechens and other representatives of our multinational and multi-confessional country," Ms Zakharova later wrote on Telegram. Pope Francis also said he wanted to mark the anniversary of the Holodomor, calling it a genocide and a "historical antecedent" of the current conflict. As many as four million Ukrainians died in this famine in 1932-33, caused by the collectivisation of farms under Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. After every WWDC event, Apple shares the keynote video on YouTube. However, users also share their take on the keynote on YouTube. According to the latest, Apple has issued multiple takedown strikes for a po[CENSORED]r channel on YouTube. Scroll down to read more details on the subject. Prominent YouTube Channel "Apple WWDC Videos" Issued Multiple Takedown Strikes As mentioned earlier, Apple has issued multiple takedown requests for a po[CENSORED]r YouTube channel that archived past WWDC videos. Brendan Shanks, owner of the channel "Apple WWDC Videos" shared the news on Twitter, highlighting screenshots of DMCA notices sent by YouTube. The YouTube channel contains hundreds of videos from WWDC keynotes, and it was quite po[CENSORED]r amongst fans. YouTube channels usually share short clips from the WWDC events that are relevant to their audience. Searching for the same information on Apple's channel would take a lot of time as it would pose to be quite cumbersome to locate the exact information. Nonetheless, Apple provides a catalog of older keynotes on Apple Podcasts that you can watch. However, you can only go as far as the original iPhone's launch in 2007. In contrast, Shanks' channel contained "20-year-old WWDC videos". As for Shank, he will upload the original video files from his "Apple WWDC Videos" YouTube channel to the Internet Archive. This is all there is to it, folks. We will share more details on the subject as soon as further information is available. Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below. link: https://wccftech.com/apple-issues-multiple-takedown-strikes-for-po[CENSORED]r-apple-wwdc-videos-youtube-channel/

ASUS's next-gen ROG Zephyrus M16 & M14 laptops that will feature a combination of powerful AMD CPUs & NVIDIA GPUs have been pictured. ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 and G14 laptops leaked, NVIDIA RTX 40 mobile series expected, and AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS, respectively The unreleased ASUS ROG Zephyrus laptops have recently passed certification from the RRA or the Korean National Radio Research Agency. The only information is from the certification listing, which is reprinted below: The model described above in the table is the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 gaming laptop. The laptop is a refresh of the company's previous M15 gaming laptop brand, with a slightly larger display and a smaller form factor. The new ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 gaming laptop will supply users with a 2560 x 1600 px (16:10 aspect ratio) QHD display panel. The refresh rate is clocked at 165 Hz, an IPS panel with Pantone factory calibration. Since this model is launching in 2023, it is likely that it would use an Intel Raptor Lake and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series combination, however, the room is also open if ASUS wants to go the AMD route. The camera has been updated from the previous M16 laptop, another noticeable change for the gaming laptop. However, the computer has a troubled past with reviewers. The last review for the older M16 variant stated that the exhaust would direct heat to the bottom screen bezel, and it is concerned that the company has not changed the design enough that this will not be a continued issue. The other laptop shown between the two hardware leakers on Twitter was the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 model. Harukaze5719 zoomed in on the specification list on the laptop, but it was somewhat difficult to read most of the text. One of the raised questions at the time was whether the AMD processor onboard would be the AMD Ryzen 7 7745 or 7735 HS chip. The label appears to be "7735," which would make it a Rembrandt-R laptop with an unknown Micron RAM and Samsung VRAM. However, this laptop seems more suitable to utilize the Dragon Range chips since it will be aiming at the gaming segment. link: https://wccftech.com/asus-next-gen-rog-zephyrus-m16-g14-laptops-pictured-amd-ryzen-7000-cpu-possible-nvidia-rtx-40-gpus/

You can experience Dolby Vision gaming and Dolby Atmos on Xbox Series X|S, but which games support both of these technologies? Dolby Atmos support has been on the block since Xbox One debuted back in 2017, and it's now arrived on Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. A licence is required to use the spatial audio tech on headphones, but it’s free to use on soundbars and speakers. Some headphones come with a free license, like the Xbox Wireless Headset. Spatial audio, especially, is easy to come by this time of year. As Cyber Monday 2022 sales kick off on and around November 28, it's a great time to check out some fantastic deals on the best gaming headsets and Cyber Monday Xbox deals in general. Keep updated with all the best deals with our Cyber Monday Live Blog. Dolby Vision gaming requires a compatible display but is also accessible to those who can enable it. Currently, however, not every TV that supports Dolby Vision gaming can output at 120Hz, but Microsoft and Dolby are working closely with TV manufacturers to update more displays. That'll take place via a firmware update in the future, which previously happened with the LG CX. If you’re looking to make the most out of this, make sure you check how to enable 120Hz on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S first. Otherwise, check out the full list below for every Xbox Series X|S game with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support. We've also compiled a complete list of PS5 and Xbox Series X games with 120fps support, if you're interested. link: https://www.techradar.com/news/xbox-series-xs-games-with-dolby-vision-and-dolby-atmos-support

The steel-plated skeleton will be joining Apex Mobile's legend lineup when the Underworld update goes live tomorrow evening. Apex Legends Mobile's third season is approaching the halfway mark, and developer Respawn Entertainment just announced Season 3.5's launch date and its debut legend, Revenant. Just like Ash, Revenant is a familiar faceplate to console and PC players, and the spooky simulacrum will make his transition to mobile when Apex Legends Mobile's mid-season update drops tomorrow, November 28. The Season 3.5 update (officially titled Underworld) will feature a treasure trove of new cosmetics and limited-time events, in addition to a spine-chilling new battle pass and, or course, Revenant himself. But that's not all fans of the mobile game have to look forward to this season--the trailer revealed a new LTM and some upcoming events that will allow players to unlock loads of festive goodies. Here's everything we know about Season 3.5 so far. World's Edge is back The trailer announced that players will once again be able to access their favorite frozen hellscape, with the World's Edge map set to re-enter map rotation once the Underworld update goes live. A new battle pass awaits The Underworld battle pass features the standard 50 levels of cosmetic items and other rewards players have come to expect from the game. Cosmetics appear to have a holiday theme with a dark twist (think Nightmare-Before-Christmas-meets-Krampus) that perfectly fits both the festive holiday season and Underworld's undead debut legend. Revenant has arrived With Loba's addition to the squad, it was almost a guarantee that players would soon see Revenant added to the roster soon after her debut. The two legends utterly loathe each other, and Loba's only taking part in the Apex Games to avenge her family--a difficult goal to pursue without the object of her repulsion in the dropship. Revenant's addition to the roster confirms Respawn's claim that players won't be seeing any mobile-exclusive legends like Fade and Rhapsody in Season 3. LTMs are escalating The Underworld update will introduce a brand-new limited-time mode called Airdrop Escalation. Little is currently known about this new LTM (the trailer offers no description), but it appears that Care Packages stocked with fully-kitted weapons will play a part. The trailer depicts a Care Package landing as a player runs up to it, looting a deadly Eternal-tier L-STAR. That's all we know about the new update for now, but keep an eye out for future developments, as patch notes and Revenant's mobile-exclusive Perks will likely be unveiled soon. Until then, make sure you've finished up your Champions battle pass, along with any other current seasonal events--and don't forget to redeem those Champions Coins for loot in the Champions Store! Apex Legends Mobile Season 3.5: Underworld launches November 28 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. Apex Legends Mobile is available for download on Android and iOS devices. link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/apex-legends-mobile-gets-revenant-as-next-playable-legend/1100-6509523/

Of CoDs and monsters. Po[CENSORED]r streamer Guy "Dr Disrespect" Breahm, who's largely built his brand on playing and trashing Call of Duty in equal measure, has had his CoD account suspended for a week after being disrespectful in proximity chat. His connection to the series is not just streaming, but includes a stint at Sledgehammer Games in the early 2010s, during which he worked as a level designer on Advanced Warfare. As any viewer of his streams may know, Dr Disrespect is perhaps the ultimate exemplar of bro-hard culture: swearing and trash talk are a huge part of his brand and appeal. Which of course is not a licence to behave however you will, though the streamer gives an "I'm not bothered" re-telling that makes clear he is probably quite bothered: the suspension was apparently for calling one or more players a "pussy". An insulting term and a misogynistic one at that, though it also feels like a harsh thing to be banned for, though it is against Call of Duty's new code of conduct which explicitly targets "derogatory comments based on [...] gender identity". Players must now agree to this document before playing any of the games. "I should probably chill on this account champs," Dr Disrespect says while playing Warzone 2. “I mean with the proximity chat. This is not even my account. They banned my other one for seven days for proximity chat use. Believe it or not champs." In a stream on [date], Dr Disrespect said he was playing on an alternate account, and "wasn't gonna say anything [about the ban] really because I don't really care champs, I really don't." He goes on to say how much he doesn't care several more times, while his viewers ask for some clarity on why he was suspended. Dr Disrespect then puts on a childish voice and says "ya can't say that, ya can't say that, let's make an example," criticising the community team responsible for banning him. He then responds to a question in chat about the reason for the ban. "It wasn't the pussy one was it? Yes, yes it was," said Dr Disrespect. "These people are just so out-of-touch." Dr Disrespect is fighting a squad as he says this, and at this point you very clearly hear one of his opponents shout over the proximity chat (referring to the streamer): "There you go, kill that n***** let's go." The streamer then lets out a little of the frustration he clearly feels over the decision: "But you’re gonna ban me right before a $100,000 tournament for seven days? Over a [CENSORED] clip, that is just…. it’s insane how out-of-touch these people are.” It's worth emphasising that Dr Disrespect's business model is based on playing Call of Duty and taking shots at Call of Duty: so he has an interest in saying provocative stuff about the game and, in the past, has never been shy of criticising it. So this is just another grievance to add to the pile. Warzone 2 incorporates anti-toxicity tools that were introduced with Modern Warfare 2, and which Activision Blizzard says are "foundational" for the series' future(opens in new tab). Essentially this is an overhauled in-game reporting system, combined with new tools for the publisher's moderation teams to deal with problem players, and allows complaints to add some context. Other games are going further, however, with Valorant analysing voice chat files to weed-out harassment: maybe Dr Disrespect should stay away from that one. link: https://www.pcgamer.com/dr-disrespects-call-of-duty-account-suspended-after-hes-disrespectful-in-proxy-chat/

Business Secretary Grant Shapps has denied there is a split in the Tory Party over onshore wind farms. In the summer leadership contest, Rishi Sunak had pledged to keep the effective ban on new onshore wind in England. Former prime ministers Boris Johnson and Liz Truss are among those backing an attempt to overturn this ban. But Mr Shapps said he did not see this as a "rebellion" because everyone agreed there should be local consent for new wind turbines. ADVERTISEMENT He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme there was "definitely a contribution to be made by onshore wind", although there should be local support for any new turbines and ideally communities should benefit from them. "If you can do that then I have no principled objection," he added. Onshore wind is a cheap, renewable source of energy, but opponents say turbines are noisy and an eyesore. Truss and Johnson join Tory wind farm rebellion How many more wind farms will the UK build? Labour vows to lift ban on onshore wind Simon Clarke, who was a cabinet minister under Ms Truss, has tabled an amendment to the Levelling Up Bill that would overturn a planning clampdown which has resulted in an effective ban on new onshore wind turbines since 2015. He said the move would allow new turbines where there is local consent. Around 30 Tory MPs are believed to have added their names to the amendment, including outgoing COP26 President Alok Sharma and former Conservative Party chairman Sir Jake Berry. Labour has said it would support the amendment, increasing the chances of a government defeat. Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove has also told allies he supports ending the ban on onshore wind farms, according to the Daily Telegraph. But Mr Shapps denied reports of a cabinet split over the issue, saying "we all want there to be local consent". He said he believed the amendment would give local communities the "final say" on new wind turbines in their area - and that this was in line with his own position and that of the prime minister. Asked whether Mr Sunak would support the amendment, Mr Shapps said he did not think the prime minister had looked through all the planning ramifications yet, but he added: "We've been very clear, regardless, local communities need to both support and ideally see the benefits from this." link: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-63779169

Paleontologists have discovered fossils belonging to a newfound species of tyrannosaur, which could fill an important gap in the evolutionary history of T. rex. Paleontologists have uncovered the remains of a never-before-seen tyrannosaur that was possibly a direct ancestor of the dinosaur king Tyrannosaurus rex. The newfound species could help settle a big debate about T. rex's evolutionary lineage. The newfound species, Daspletosaurus wilsoni, has a unique arrangement of spiked hornlets around its eyes. The tyrannosaur was identified from parts of a fossilized skull and skeletal fragments, including a rib and toe bone, that date to about 76.5 million years ago during the Cretaceous period (145 million to 66 million years ago). Paleontologists from the Badlands Dinosaur Museum in North Dakota uncovered the fossils at the Judith River Formation, in northeastern Montana, between 2017 and 2021, according to a new study, published Nov. 25 in the journal Paleontology and Evolutionary Science(opens in new tab). The team initially stumbled across the fossils after crewmember Jack Wilson noticed a small, flat piece of bone projecting out from the bottom of a cliff, which later turned out to be part of the dinosaur's nostril. Excavating the bones, however, proved to be immensely challenging because they were buried beneath 26 feet (8 meters) of solid rock. The researchers had to painstakingly chisel away large parts of the cliff with jackhammers before they could even start excavating the individual bones. The specimen, designated BDM 107, was playfully nicknamed "Sisyphus" in recognition of the enormous effort required to remove the surrounding rock. (Sisyphus is a figure from Greek mythology who, after cheating death twice, was forced by Hades, the god of death, to repeatedly roll a boulder up a mountain for eternity.) Related: T. rex and its close relatives were warm-blooded like modern birds The researchers think that D. wilsoni was the descendant of Daspletosaurus torosus and the predecessor of Daspletosaurus horneri, which likely emerged between 77 and 75 million years ago. The anatomy of the newfound beast supports the idea that the Daspletosaurus lineage is ancestral to the mighty T. rex. All three daspletosaur species belong to the family Tyrannosauridae, which includes nine genera, including Tyrannosaurus. (The genus Daspletosaurus is Greek for "frightful lizard.") Until now, the Tyrannosauridae lineage has been difficult to unravel, making it hard to determine the exact evolutionary relationships between individual species. "Many researchers disagree as to whether tyrannosaurids represent a single lineage evolving in place, or several closely related species that do not descend from one another," study co-authors and palaeontologists Elías Warshaw and Denver Fowler wrote in a statement(opens in new tab). This has not been helped by a lack of high-quality specimens to examine, they added. But the discovery of D. wilsoni suggests that the three daspletosaurs came one after the other, like "consecutive ladder-like steps in a single evolutionary lineage," rather than branching off from one another like "evolutionary cousins," the researchers wrote. D. wilsoni is a good candidate for being a transitional species between D. torosus and D. horneri because it shares a number of traits with more ancient tyrannosaurs, such as having a prominent set of horns around the eye, as well as traits seen in younger species, such as expanded air-pockets in the skull, according to the statement. "In this way, D. wilsoni is a 'halfway point' or 'missing link' between older and younger tyrannosaur species," the researchers wrote. Given that these species could have evolved one after the other, the team suggests that the rest of the tyrannosaurids, including T. rex, could also have emerged in a similar linear fashion. The researchers are currently planning a new study to explore this idea, according to the statement. link: https://www.livescience.com/new-tyrannosaur-species-discovered-montana
