The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is the third model to join Ford's Bronco family of SUVs. Unlike the Bronco 2- and 4-door, which are based on a truck platform, the Bronco Sport is based on a crossover SUV platform. This vehicle is smaller than the Escape and larger than the EcoSport, putting the Bronco Sport in the large subcompact SUV category. While some larger subcompact SUVs skew toward city life and errand-running, the Bronco Sport is designed for adventure. It has trail-tested off-road capability, up to 8.8 inches of ground clearance, a purpose-built interior, and a terrain-management system that makes it easy to navigate a variety of surfaces. We expect the Bronco Sport to compete with vehicles like the Jeep Compass and Subaru Crosstrek. Although the Bronco Sport has been designed with a lot of the 2021 Ford Bronco's DNA, the Sport is not as hardcore an off-roader as the Bronco. Even if you aren’t looking to go rock-crawling, but like to camp, go biking, or simply enjoy the great outdoors, you will find a lot to like about the Bronco Sport. You can get an engine with an (estimated) 245 horsepower, and an 8-speed automatic transmission comes standard. The cargo area was designed to hold two upright mountain bikes. There are clever interior storage solutions that would come in handy in the city or on a weekend in the woods. And the 2021 Bronco Sport comes standard with impressive safety features, including Ford's Co-Pilot 360 suite of advanced safety. How Much Does the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Cost? The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport starts at $ 26,660 and can reach up to $ 38,160 for the all-in Badlands First Edition model. The regular Badlands model costs $ 32,660. Above the base model Bronco Sport and below the Badlands, you’ll find the Big Bend trim ($ 28,160) and the Outer Banks edition ($ 32,160). Add $ 1,495 for destination and delivery charges. For reference, the Jeep Compass and Subaru Crosstrek both start around $ 25,000 when equipped with a comparable transmission and all-wheel drive.

US President Donald Trump and his Democratic rival in the upcoming elections, Joe Biden, have traded accusations about the wildfires raging in the American West. Biden said that Trump, a Republican, had not recognized his role in global warming, which he said had led to the current fires. Dozens of fires have erupted on an unprecedented scale across more than four million acres in Oregon, California and Washington states since August, devastating small towns and destroying thousands of homes and killing at least 35 people. Biden criticized, in statements in Delaware, Trump's failure to visit disaster areas. Biden was talking about the threat of increasingly frequent weather events, which scientists say are evidence that climate change is fueling fires. “If we had another four years of Trump's climate denial, how many suburbs would the wildfires come in?” How many neighborhoods will be covered by the water? Trump denies responsibility On the other hand, Trump met with firefighters and officials in California after his Democratic rivals criticized him for remaining silent about wildfires. When asked by a journalist whether climate change was a factor behind the fires, Trump said: "I think this is more about management." Trump stressed that other countries “do not have this problem,” without mentioning the large forest fires that have broken out elsewhere in various parts of the world in recent years, from southern Europe to Australia and Siberia. The US President and his administration have sought to blame state officials for the major wildfires. Trump said improving forest management is something that can be achieved quickly, while climate change will take more time and require international cooperation, he said the world is lacking.

The sweet mellowness of pear is the perfect foil for bitter dark chocolate in this classic British pudding The enthusiasm of the testers I recruited this week showed a strong correlation with the quality of their school food - some were sceptical of my ability to recreate the magic of large metal pans full of tinned fruit and margarine-rich sponge, while others were puzzled by why I'd bother in the first place. When it comes to puddings, however, dinner ladies always know best, and this is an undeniable classic of the genre: a very superior sort of sugary stodge indeed. The perfumed sweetness of the pear, softer and less acidic than its seasonal partner the apple, is a lovely match for the bitterness of dark chocolate, making this a surefire crowdpleaser that falls somewhere on the effort scale between the delicate art of poaching pears and the happy simplicity of gorging yourself on the ripe fruit until the sticky juice runs down your chin. The fruit Most recipes call for fresh fruit, with only Nigella Lawson suggesting tinned halves. Pears stand up pretty well to the canning treatment, but nevertheless, while they’re in season, I’d opt for the more intense flavor of the fresh kind. Make sure they're fairly ripe - I try them with the bullet-like fruit sold in supermarket bags, which remains crunchy even after 20 minutes in the oven - but not dangerously so, because, like the recipe in The River Cottage Fruit Every Day book, I'm going to fry them briefly in butter and brown sugar first, to accentuate their natural sweetness. If you do find yourself with fruit that’s so ripe, it’s barely held in by its skin, it’s probably best to skip this step and instead paint the quarters with a little melted sugar and butter before baking (the same goes for tinned fruit). My testers express a strong preference for smooth-fleshed varieties such as the buttery williams or comice, as opposed to the longer, grainier conference pear - the contrast in textures between fruit and sponge, slippery and fluffy, is simply more satisfying, though a grainier example wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me. Nor, for that matter, is a bit of skin; all the recipes I try start by peeling the fruit, but leaving it on helps keep the fruit together in the pan, and the slight chewiness it brings with it is, for me, yet another texture to enjoy. Feel free to get out the peeler, if you prefer, though - after all, perfection comes in many forms. The cake This is, in essence, a cake rather than a pudding - River Cottage even bakes it in a cake tin - generally made with some variety of chocolate sponge. Both Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Lawson use the creaming method familiar from a classic Victoria sandwich, in which butter and sugar are beaten until fluffy with air, before eggs, flour and raising agents are both folded in, while Bill Granger and the Waitrose website begin with melted butter, which gives their puddings a denser, moister texture that's more reminiscent of a brownie. All, it must be confessed, go down very well, with Lawson's recipe gaining points for school-dinners authenticity - “though it tastes nicer - what have you put it in?” Butter, obvs - but pudding to me suggests something rich and squidgy, so I’ve opted for the melting method, upped the cocoa powder and used soft brown sugar rather than caster for a damper, darker result. I’m also going to steal River Cottage's idea of replacing some of the flour with ground almonds; The nutty flavor works well with both pears and chocolate, as well as adding moisture to the mixture. ... Or not Rose Prince describes the chocolate paper pie in her Pocket Bakri book as an “unusual, very rich chocolate pudding with pears”, which seems a good enough excuse to try it out. It's very much a dinner party dessert, an intense, dark chocolate ganache topped with pears and baked inside a cocoa pastry shell, and well worth the effort, if you’re hoping to impress. The ganache, in particular, can’t fail to please (though I’d suggest doubling the quantity of pastry, unless you’re as expert with a pin as Prince), but it's not quite the homely pud I’m after here. Flavorings and sauces Lawson and Granger add vanilla extract to their batter and River Cottage fries the fruit with orange zest, all ingredients that pair brilliantly with both pears and chocolate, if you feel the need to add something else to the mix. The same goes for the coffee in Lawson's sauce - every recipe, with the exception of Prince's, includes a matching sauce: not chocolate custard, as at school, but silky affairs made with cream and melted chocolate in Lawson and River Cottage's case, and cocoa. , dark brown sugar and boiling water for Granger and Waitrose, whose puddings are “self-saucing”, aka gooey in the middle. But I’m aiming for a richer, denser sponge, so think such a sauce would be overkill on the chocolate front; plain cream or creme fraiche makes for a more satisfying contrast. That said, each to their own; others imply, as they lick the bowls clean, that they would have preferred “brown custard”.

People Also Ask Which Ford F-150 engine is best? We recommend the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine, as it offers a great combination of power, fuel economy, and towing capability for the money. However, if you tow a large trailer on a regular basis, you may want to consider the 5.0-liter V8 or the 3.5-liter EcoBoost. Why is the F-150 so po[CENSORED]r? The Ford F-150 offers a wide variety of engines, trim levels, bed lengths, and wheelbases, making it easy to find the right combination for your needs that fits your budget. This truck also is consistently at the top of its class for towing and payload capacity, and Ford places a strong emphasis on both work innovations and luxury amenities. Is Ford making a hybrid truck? Yes. The 2021 model year is the first time the Ford F-150 will be available as a hybrid. Where is the 2021 F-150 built? The 2021 Ford F-150 will be built at the Dearborn Truck Plant in Dearborn, Michigan and the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri. The hybrid model, known as the PowerBoost, will be built exclusively in Dearborn. KBB Editors’ Overview The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in America for 43 years because it consistently offers capability, value, innovation, and choice. With three cab sizes, three bed lengths, six powertrains, and six trim levels (not including the Raptor), the F-150 gives buyers the opportunity to find a combination that suits their needs and their budget. Lately, the Ram 1500’s eTorque mild hybrid system, near-luxury interiors, and huge infotainment screen have wowed the public. The Chevrolet 1500's impressive variety of models and engines and its outstanding 5-Year Cost to Own data make that truck easy to recommend. Yet the F-150 is still the best equipped for work and leisure, and no other truck matches the Ford when it comes to work solutions tech and convenience and safety features. For 2021, the Ford F-150 is essentially all-new. Ford updated the styling and redesigned the interior, which now features a new infotainment system and more work and storage solutions. There’s also a new hybrid powertrain option, as well as the availability of an onboard generator, and the company has updated almost every engine in the lineup. While Ford hasn’t yet announced power ratings or each model’s capabilities, we anticipate the 2021 F-150 will offer best-in-class horsepower, torque, towing, and payload capacity. Favorite Features POWERBOOST HYBRID ENGINE Ford’s full hybrid system uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, a 35 KW electric motor, and a 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery mounted below the rear seat so it doesn’t take up passenger or bed space. Ford anticipates the F-150 with the PowerBoost will be able to tow at least 12,000 pounds while offering about 700 miles of range on a tank of gas. It also comes standard with Pro Power Onboard. PRO POWER ONBOARD With the Pro Power Onboard inverter, the F-150 can serve as a generator. There’s a 2.0-KW unit available for the 2.7- and 3.5-liter EcoBoost and the 5.0-liter V8. The 2.4-KW inverter comes standard with the hybrid. The 7.2-KW system, optional only with the hybrid, offers the most power. Ford gave an example: it can charge a plasma cutter, TIG welder, chop saw, air compressor, angle grinder, and work light simultaneously for up to 32 hours. 2021 Ford F-150 Interior The 2021 Ford F-150’s interior was totally redesigned with upgraded materials and new color combinations. The center stack - where you can find all the navigation, stereo, and climate controls - is all-new. It houses the truck’s standard 8-inch touchscreen, which is twice as big as the previous model’s standard screen. Sync 4, the newest version of Ford's infotainment system, is standard. A 12-inch touchscreen is also available, which is a landscape (horizontal) layout that still leaves ample room for physical buttons and knobs. You can also get a digital gauge cluster with animations that show what terrain you’re on and the drive mode the truck is in. An optional Interior Work Surface creates a flat working area over the center console. If your F-150 doesn’t have the column-mounted shifter, you can fold down the console-mounted transmission shifter when you want to use the Work Surface. Then you push a button to stow the Surface in the center console when you’re done. If you need to grab some ZZZs between jobs or just want to feel like you’re flying first class, Ford now offers Max Recline seats that fold nearly flat. 2021 Ford F-150 Exterior Even though Ford has made changes to every piece of the 2021 F-150's sheet metal, the end result is a truck that looks remarkably similar to its predecessor. It's slightly wider, for a tougher stance, and the new grille and headlight designs that it's a 2021 reveal model. There are 11 grilles and three different headlight designs, plus 13 different wheel designs that range from 17 to 22 inches. There are new extended-length power running boards can be lowered with a hands-free “kick switch,” and can also be set to stay down if you’re making multiple trips to load or unload cargo. In addition, every tailgate now comes with built-in clamp pockets, and there’s a new feature called the Tailgate Work Surface that includes integrated rulers, a cupholder, pencil holder, and smartphone / tablet holder. 2021 Ford F-150 Standard Features The base model of the 2021 Ford F-150, the XL, comes with a 3.3-liter V6 backed by a 10-speed automatic, comes as a rear-drive truck, and rides on 17-inch steel wheels. Its smallest cab is a regular cab. The basic fuel tank size is 23 gallons, but a 26- or 36-gallon tank is available. This truck has an 8-inch touchscreen that includes a digital version of the owner's manual, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The F-150 is set up for over-the-air updates, which often happen in the background, and most are instantaneous. All F-150s come standard with some Ford Co-Pilot360 technology, including forward collision warning and dynamic brake support, hill start assist, pre-collision assist with auto emergency braking (with pedestrian detection), auto hold, and its rearview camera has dynamic hitch support, making it easier to line up the truck with a trailer. 2021 Ford F-150 Options You can choose two larger cabs - the extended cab SuperCab or the crew cab SuperCrew - and a 5-1 / 2-, 6-1 / 2-, or 8-foot bed. There are three wheelbase lengths as well. Trim levels continue in increasing price with XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. There are two different 4-wheel-drive systems, both of which have a flat tow mode. If you want more power than the 3.3-liter V6 offers, you can look at the twin-turbocharged 2.7- or 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8, the 3.0-liter Power Stroke V6 turbodiesel, or the 3.5 -liter PowerBoost V6 hybrid. There are 11 grille styles, which vary based on trim level, and 13 wheel designs. There’s an available locking full-length fold-flat storage area that goes in the second row. You can even get a setup that lets you turn on and off individual exterior lights, which comes handy when you’re on the job site or camping. Ford’s tailgate step is still available, as is the Pro Trailer Backup Assist, where you use a knob to back your truck and trailer into place. Safety options include Active Drive Assist, active park assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane-centering and lane-keeping assists, and reverse brake assist. Interior options include a 12-inch touchscreen and a digital gauge cluster. The Interior Work Surface creates a flat working area over the center console. If your F-150 comes with a console-mounted transmission shifter, it folds down when you want to use the Work Surface. You can push a button to stow the Surface in the center console when you’re done. And Max Recline seats fold nearly flat. 2021 Ford F-150 Engine Ford hasn't announced horsepower or torque numbers yet, but all five gasoline and diesel engines return for 2021 (though the Raptor's High Output 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 doesn't look like it's going to make an appearance), and we expect some will receive minor updates. Also, Ford hasn’t announced fuel-economy numbers, but the use of active grille shutters, an automatic air dam, and a more aerodynamic body should improve fuel economy across the lineup. The base engine, a 3.3-liter V6, comes standard with a 10-speed automatic for the first time, which should improve fuel economy for that engine. For the PowerBoost hybrid, Ford is aiming for 700 miles of range on a single tank of gasoline. The PowerBoost uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 and a 35 KW electric motor that works with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It can run solely on electric power, but only for very short distances. How Much Does the 2021 Ford F-150 Cost? We expect the 2021 Ford F-150 pricing to start at around $ 30,000 for a regular cab XL. Pricing will increase incrementally from there, as each trim level, going from the XLT to the Lariat, to the King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited, will come standard with more features and high-end luxury amenities. We expect the Limited 4 × 4 SuperCrew PowerBoost with every option could approach $ 80,000. That base price is comparable to that of the Chevy Silverado 1500 and the Ram 1500, but nudges higher than the topline Silverado and Ram. To see what people in your area are paying for their new trucks, check out the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price. Based on the data we’ve gathered on previous F-150 models, we expect the resale value of the Ford F-150 to be comparable to that of its competitors. 2021 Ford F-150 Safety Technology Co-Pilot360 Ford’s inclusive suite of advanced driver assists includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, active park assist, automatic high beams, evasive steering assist, BLIS (blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert) and Lane Keeping. Some of this technology comes standard, and other features are available with higher trim levels. 360-Degree camera This optional feature allows a complete 360-degree view around the vehicle, particularly helpful given the F-150's elevated height and numerous low-level blind spots. This camera is also useful when backing up the F-150 while towing a trailer. Active Drive Assist This optional feature will have a camera that faces the driver to track the driver's head and eye position to sense if the driver is getting drowsy. This is designed to be a more accurate system than one that solely uses steering wheel inputs. This technology will also offer the option of some hands-free driving. The prep kit will be available soon, and an over-the-air update will activate the system in the third quarter of 2021. Intersection Assist If you’re turning left at an intersection and there’s a risk of a crash with an oncoming vehicle, the optional Intersection Assist will apply the brakes to avoid a crash.

Intelligence Online revealed that a high-level meeting will bring together the Libyan parties, on Tuesday, in the French capital, Paris, in order to hold talks that pave the way for resolving the crisis. But after the news of this meeting spread, the team of the Prime Minister of Tripoli, Fayez al-Sarraj, withdrew from visiting Paris, under pressure from Turkey, which provides generous support to the militias. Al-Sarraj told the French diplomats that he will not be able to visit France this week, because he first needs to direct what he said was a necessary speech to the Libyan people, in order to present the framework for conducting negotiations. Accordingly, Tripoli decided to send the Minister of the Interior, Fathi Bash Agha. Initially, the website reported that Paris arranged to receive the Libyan National Army Commander, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Aqila Saleh, and the Prime Minister of Tripoli, Fayez al-Sarraj, on the seventh of September. It is expected that the Libyan parties will continue their discussions about what was previously started in Bouznika talks in Morocco, on the sixth of September, in order to solve the Libyan crisis that has persisted for years. France wagered on the participation of German and Italian diplomats in order to facilitate "thawing the ice" and holding talks between Libyan officials. The source mentioned that this diplomatic effort was led by a small team of French presidential advisers; They are Emmanuel Boone, Patrick Durrell and Paul Soler, seeking to block Turkish expansion. Paris expressed positions rejecting the Turkish intervention in Libya by transferring weapons, despite the existence of an international embargo, as well as the transfer of thousands of mercenaries from Syria to Libya in order to fight in the ranks of the militias loyal to Sarraj. France is mobilizing the countries of the European Union to confront Turkish ambitions, especially in light of its deliberate provocation in the eastern Mediterranean region, through oil exploration in a disputed area with Greece and Cyprus, while it signed a controversial agreement regarding its legality with the Sarraj government to demarcate “maritime borders” “.

A quick and easy seafood treat with green leaves and spicy Korean warmth The recipe Clean and check 1kg of mussels. Roughly chop 6 thin spring onions. Warm 3 tbsp of groundnut oil in a large, deep pan then add the spring onions. Cook the onions for a couple of minutes, letting them soften but not color. Stir 1 heaped tbsp of chilli paste (I use Korean gochujang) into the onions, fry briefly then add the mussels and 100ml of water, and cover tightly with a lid. Finely shred and wash 100g of pak choi - the greens with leaves shaped like Chinese soup spoons. When the mussels have been cooking for 3 minutes and are starting to open, add the pak choi and a handful of coriander leaves. Toss the mussels, greens and juices together, cook for a minute or two, then transfer to bowls. For 2. The trick I’m sure I don’t need to tell you to check the mussels thoroughly, tapping each one on the side of the sink and discarding any whose shells fail to shut, but I will. It is essential to pick out any that have cracked shells, too. Mussels need only a very few minutes to cook (there is no joy in an overcooked mussel) so I remove them from the heat as soon as the shells start to open. A good shake as they steam will ensure more even cooking. They will continue to cook in the residual heat so I serve them as quickly as possible. The twist Use any fresh greens here. Try shredded cabbage or coarse-leaved spinach (not the diminutive, soft salad leaves). Alternatively, drop the greens and spoon the hot mussels over rice instead, their fiery gochujang juices trickling through the grains. The Observer aims to publish recipes for fish rated as sustainable by the Marine Conservation Society’s Good Fish Guide

Chevrolet has unveiled the all-new 2021 Tahoe and Suburban, the company’s po[CENSORED]r and big body-on-frame SUVs. According to Chevy, these newest large people haulers will offer the most interior space of any SUV and the best driving dynamics in the full-size segment. “We've taken what people love about these pioneering SUVs and made them even better - adding more room for people and cargo, more advanced technology and an unrivaled driving experience,” said GM president Barry Engle, who added that these models combine the strongest Aspects of the new full-size Silverado pickup with entirely new systems designed to meet the needs of today's SUV drivers and passengers. All-new chassis The Tahoe and its longer Suburban sibling are based on a new body-on-frame architecture with an integrated front end, a longer wheelbase and a multilink independent rear suspension featuring coil springs over tubular shock absorbers. The goal, says Chevrolet, was to create roomier passenger accommodations along with more cargo capacity and better driving dynamics. Ride smoothness on rough roads is said to be significantly improved on rough roads, while the lower load floor allows for a 3rd-row seat that can be folded. Chevy says the lower floor also makes for a more natural seating position. By the numbers: the new Chevy Tahoe The new Chevy Tahoe is 6.7 inches longer than the model it replaces, and it rides on a wheelbase increased by 4.9 inches. While leg room in the middle row of seats has grown by a considerable 3 inches, third-row leg room has increased by a dramatic 10.1 inches. Cargo volume is better as well. The 2020 Tahoe has 15.3 cubic feet behind its third row, along with a max cargo volume of 90.7 cubic feet. The 2021 Tahoe, by comparison, has 25.5 cubic feet behind its third row and a max capacity of 122.9 cubic feet. Incidentally, the Ford Expedition, the Tahoe’s main competitor, has 20.1 cubic feet behind its third-row seat. Viewed another way, Chevy says the 2021 Tahoe offers 40 percent more third-row leg room than the 2020 model, and it has 66 percent more cargo room behind its rearmost seat. And although the maximum cargo room of the upcoming new Tahoe has increased by 30 percent, its overall length has increased by less than four percent. By the numbers: the new Chevy Suburban The wheelbase of the 2021 Chevy Suburban has grown by 4.1 inches, but the overall length of the big family-oriented SUV has increased by only 1.3. Consequently, middle-row leg room has grown 2.3 inches, while that of the third row has increased by 2.2. Suburban cargo volume also is up, though not by as much as in the new Tahoe. Whereas the 2020 Suburban has 39.3 cubic feet behind its back row of seats, the new 2021 model has 41.1. In maximum cargo volume, the 2021 Suburban has 144.7 cubic feet versus the 2020 model’s 121.7. Again, using percentages, Chevy says the overall cargo volume of the 2021 Suburban has expanded by 19 percent, while the overall length is up by less than one percent. Much of the increased volume is related to a new lower load floor, made possible by the independent rear suspension. Two gasoline V8s and a turbodiesel inline-6 The new 2021 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 Chevy Suburban are available with two gasoline V8s, both aluminum-block pushrod engines with variable valve timing. A 5.3-liter V8, standard on the LS, LT, Z71, RST and Premier models, puts out 355 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 383 lb-ft of torque at 4,100 rpm. A 6.2-liter V8, standard on the new High Country model, produces 420 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque at 4,100 rpm. Both direct-injected V8s benefit from 12 modes of cylinder deactivation that optimize mpg across a range of driving conditions, even during towing. The transmission is a 10-speed automatic with push-button controls, and the final-drive ratio of all models is 3.23: 1 In other big powertrain news, the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban also will be available with a diesel engine, the same 3.0-liter Duramax inline-6 that has impressed KBB in the Silverado and Sierra pickups. In the Tahoe and Suburban, this turbodiesel puts out 277 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and a stout 460 lb-ft of torque at only 1,500 rpm. This is the only diesel engine available in a full-size SUV, and it's expected to give the Tahoe and Suburban excellent towing ability and some of the best fuel economy ratings in the segment. The diesel version of the Chevy Silverado pickup, for the record, gets an impressive 33 mpg on the highway. If the new Suburban or Tahoe diesel can get somewhere close to that highway figure, that would be impressive and enticing for those folks who drive these workhorses long distances. For durability, the Duramax engine has iron cylinder liners, a crankshaft and connecting rods made of forged steel, plus special silicon / aluminum pistons that offer greater heat resistance and reduced. What’s the benefit of the multilink rear suspension? The Tahoe and Suburban’s new multilink rear suspension replaces the old live-axle design of the previous models. With three lateral arms, a large longitudinal arm, coil-over springs and a substantial anti-roll bar, the new suspension allows for a lower rear load floor while offering the ride sophistication and isolation typically associated with smaller vehicles. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, with automatic load-leveling and ride-height adjustment, will be available on the High Country and Z71 models. It can adjust the Suburban or Tahoe’s ride height by up to four inches, and on the highway it automatically lowers the vehicle 0.75 inches for improved aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. For easier passenger entry or exit, the driver also can lower the suspension by two inches when the vehicle is parked. Conversely, the driver can raise the Tahoe or Suburban by an inch in high-range 4-wheel drive, or by two inches in low-range 4-wheel drive. One other suspension technology available on the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban is Magnetic Ride Control. This sophisticated system, which rapidly alters the damping of the shock absorbers based on road conditions, is standard on the Premier and High Country models and optional on the off-road-focused Z71. Body roll and bounce are greatly reduced, says Chevy. What kind of safety tech is available on Tahoe and Suburban? Arguably, the biggest safety development for the new Tahoe and Suburban is Automatic Emergency Braking, which is standard on all models. But Chevy also maintains that there are 30 different safety and driver conveniences on these large new SUVs. These include an inboard seat-mounted side airbag for the driver, a forward collision alert system, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot alert and a lane-change alert. Of the numerous convenience items available on the 2021 Tahoe and Suburban, a special hitch guidance system that greatly simplifies trailer hookup deserves mention, as do a massive 15-inch head-up display and a high-def surround view camera that helps immensely when you 're negotiating a tight parking lot. A large new panoramic sunroof also will be available. In addition to having a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, all 2021 Tahoes and Suburbans will have Apple CarPlay / Android Auto and multiple USB charging ports. Wireless smartphone charging will be available in all models except the entry-level LS. Note: Chevrolet says these big new 8-seat SUVs also have an all-new digital platform that has five times more data-processing power than the system in current models. This means faster processing and over-the-air updates for your new Tahoe and Suburban, along with some extra bandwidth for some future technologies. Six trim levels There are six trim levels for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 Chevy Suburban. The LS and upmarket LTwill comprise the bulk of the lineup, but four other models are designed to have much more distinctities. The RST has a street-inspired look, with a unique front fascia, 22-inch wheels, a black-ice finish on the grille, black chrome trim and special seats with contrast stitching. Next up is the Z71, with an off-road focus enhanced by a rugged front fascia that allows for steeper approaches and better off-road capability. It's a 4WD truck, and it includes a 2-range transfer case, Hill Descent Control, a front skid plate, red tow hooks and 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. Exterior accents are done in black and black-chrome. ThePremier puts an emphasis on premium equipment and technology. As such, it's equipped to the hilt with Magnetic Ride Control suspension, navigation, an 8-inch reconfigurable instrument cluster, a premium Bose 10-speaker audio system and full suite of safety technologies that includes rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist , and front and rear park assist. New for the Tahoe and Suburban is the High Country, the name taken from the top-level Silverado pickup. This opulent Tahoe or Suburban has a unique grille with bronze accents, a super luxurious interior and expanded color choices. The High Country is equipped with the 6.2-liter V8, Magnetic Ride Control and 22-inch wheels, plus a head-up display, a surround-view camera and a Rear Camera Mirror. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Adaptive Cruise Control are available on this Tahoe or Suburban flagship.

Austria is witnessing the beginning of a "second wave" of the new Corona virus epidemic, its leader said, Sunday, asking citizens to comply with the strengthened rules to stop new cases and suggesting that companies keep employees working from home if possible. Austria went through a relatively successful first phase of the epidemic, but it joined other European countries that have seen an increase in the number of infections in recent weeks. The country recorded 869 new infections on Friday, the highest daily number since late March. Counselor Sebastian Curtis announced that the government would re-impose measures such as the mandatory wearing of masks in stores. "What we are witnessing now is the beginning of the second wave in Austria," he said after a government meeting with business owners and workers' representatives in Vienna. He added that about half of the new infections are in the capital, Vienna, but injuries are increasing all over the country. He pointed out that most people contract the infection at family gatherings, birthday parties and other special occasions, but added, "Often this infection is transmitted to work." He said many companies had "good experiences" with their employees working from home. He also stated, "It is logical that this matter continues and expands wherever companies want and where the experiences are positive." Curtis urged companies to improve virus protection at work. He said that things should return to normal next summer, "but until then, the fall and winter will be very difficult." Austria, with a po[CENSORED]tion of about 8.9 million, has recorded more than 33,000 infections and has seen 750 virus-related deaths. Experts say that all the number of cases of the epidemic is less than the real because of the lack of registration of mild cases and the limited testing.

During lockdown, a lot of people found it hard being trapped at home with a noisy bird that never shuts up - and rehoming is tricky as some of them really don’t like women Name: Parrots. Age: Depending on the species, they can live to 70 years or more in captivity. Appearance: Brightly colored windbags. Like balloons? No, birds with brightly colored plumage that never shut up. Some of them can even be taught to swear. Yes they can. I hear that, as pets go, they’re highly intelligent. Generally speaking, a parrot is about as smart as a three-year-old child, with similarly complex needs. Having a parrot sounds fun! Yeah, you’d think so. What possible downsides could there be to living with a large, noisy, demanding bird? A lot of people found out when they were trapped at home with their parrots during lockdown. I can see if you’re working from home a loud parrot might make you anxious. Some owners evidently couldn’t take it any more. The rescue charity Birdline took in 88 birds between March and September, a 70% increase on the same period last year. Interesting. Is there a rescue charity for annoying housemates, do you think? The Facebook group Lost Parrots & Birds Found has also seen a sharp increase in reports of missing parrots. It is believed that some of those reported birds had been intentionally freed by their owners. Can’t they just train the parrots to be quiet? Not really. Parrots squawk for all sorts of reasons - boredom and hunger being the main ones - but they will not be silenced. Well, at least the rescued birds can now be adopted by new owners with more patience. It’s not that simple. Why not? Because parrots get heavily imprinted on their owners, to the extent that they develop strong gender preferences. What does that mean? Some parrots don’t like women. Is this for real? Yes. There are a number of them awaiting adoption on the site Problem Parrots. Buddy the blue-fronted Amazon, for example, “is a man’s bird and may bite females”. This is an outrage. Bob the Senegal’s profile says: “I am looking for a home with a male as the main carer. I may also adapt to the women in the equation but again I should be watched because I am liable to bite the women. " Wake up, Bob, you dinosaur. Unfortunately, not that many men are in the market to adopt birds. It's a big decision, electing to spend the next 70 years with a screaming, misogynistic toddler. Some parrots actually prefer women. Some hate children, other birds or being touched. Do say: "Does Polly want some gender sensitivity training?" Don’t say: “Would Polly like to stay in the bread bin until this Zoom meeting is over?”

After years of anticipation, the 2021 Ford Bronco is here. Introducing a vehicle with a name as iconic as Bronco could have been risky, as there is a lot of nostalgia attached to it. Yet from our first impressions, the new Bronco has exceeded expectations. The Ford Bronco returns as a 2-door model - as well as a first-ever 4-door - with the power, tough off-road gear, and styling that will excite Bronco fans while encouraging new buyers to take a look. The Bronco is an apples-to-apples competitor with the Jeep Wrangler, which is also an off-road specialist offered in 2- and 4-door models with a soft top and removable doors. The Toyota 4Runner is another model to consider if you want a 4-door off-road-capable SUV. You can also include the Land Rover Defender in the conversation, but it’s significantly more expensive. For those that may be concerned that the new Bronco is “all hat, no cattle,” this SUV is based on a fully boxed truck platform and is available with two highly capable 4-wheel-drive systems. Technology such as a Terrain Management System, Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, and Trail One-Pedal Drive will make off-roading easier and safer. This Ford can tow up to 3,500 pounds. And the Bronco will come with a choice of two turbocharged EcoBoost engines, including a version of the excellent 2.7-liter V6 that's in the F-150 and the 2.3-liter from the Ranger. Favorite Features SASQUATCH PACKAGE Ford had a lot of fun naming trim levels, as you can see with the Sasquatch package. Available with every trim level, Sasquatch includes 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, electronic front, and rear axles, the topline 4-wheel-drive system, and a high-clearance suspension. It also has HOSS, which stands for High-performance Off-road Stability Suspension. This system uses Bilstein position-sensitive shocks. TECH FEATURES Trail Control is essentially low-speed off-road cruise control, and Trail Turn Assist can greatly reduce the turning radius when you have to maneuver on a tight trail. Trail One-Pedal Drive controls acceleration and braking. The Terrain Management system has G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Terrain) Modes that you can select for whatever terrain you’re on. There’s a 360-degree camera that includes off-road “spotter views” that show you what’s near the tires. And there are more than 1,000 trail maps available in the nav system, which you can also access off-line. 2021 Ford Bronco Interior The interior of the Bronco is simple, with bold lines and easy-to-reach physical buttons and controls. The four key buttons for off-road endeavors, such as the differential lock and traction control, are rubberized and placed at the top of the dash. You can get an 8- or 12-inch navigation touchscreen. There’s wireless smartphone charging and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity. Choose from leather seats and easy-to-clean vinyl seats. There’s also a clever mounting bar along the top of the dash for smartphones and cameras. Color schemes include warm earth tones, as well as pale gray and black. The floor is rubberized and available with drain plugs, making it easier to wash out dirt and mud. The cargo area has a slide-out tailgate and a side opening door, and there’s a bottle opener integrated into the rear of the vehicle. 2021 Ford Bronco Exterior One interesting thing to note is that you won’t find the Ford blue oval on the Bronco. The styling pays tribute to the classic 1966-77 Bronco, so you get round headlights encased in a single-piece rectangular grille. The 2-door comes with a modular hard top - there’s no convertible available with the 2-door. If you want that, you can choose a soft top or modular hardtop on the 4-door. You can easily remove the pieces of the hardtop, and the soft top is also removable. The doors, which are made of aluminum, come with quick releases that make it easy to take off the doors, and the side mirrors stay on the body. With the 4-door, there’s room to stow the doors on board. The Bronco’s vertical taillight design resembles the classic Bronco’s. The new 2-door Bronco is significantly longer than the original, but is still shorter than the larger Bronco from the 1980s and 1990s. 2021 Ford Bronco Standard Features The 2021 Ford Bronco comes standard with a 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine, a version of the same engine that's in the Ford Ranger. (Also shared with the Ranger: the Bronco rides on a newer version of the Ranger's fully boxed truck frame.) Ford anticipates this engine will net 270 horsepower. Behind that engine is a 7-speed manual - six speeds plus a crawler gear. Even though Ford hasn’t announced pricing, we expect the 2-door Bronco to be the less expensive model. The base 2-door comes standard with a modular hardtop, where you can remove some or all of the pieces. Four-wheel drive comes standard on the Bronco, with a 2-speed electronic shift-on-the-fly system. The base Bronco has 16-inch steel wheels with 30-inch all-season tires. The Bronco has at least 8.3 inches of ground clearance, which goes up to 11.6 with 35-inch tires. 2021 Ford Bronco Options When the Ford Bronco goes on sale in early 2021, there will be six trim levels, based around what you want your vehicle to be capable of. The 2-door base model comes with a modular hardtop, and you can only get the soft top on 4-door models. Ford also anticipates there will be more than 200 accessories that can be installed by the dealer. The base model is a starting-off point for no-frills off-road pursuits or for people who plan to modify their vehicle. Big Bend has more creature comforts, is available with 17-inch wheels and 32-inch tires, and Co-Pilot360 is available. Black Diamond adds a heavy-duty modular front bumper, a steel rear bumper, skid plates, and a rubberized floor. The Outer Banks is the model where you will find the most tech and creature comforts, including a 12-inch navigation screen and a Bang & Olufsen audio system. We expect the Outer Banks will offer the 2.7-liter EcoBoost as an option. If that’s the case, this may be a highly po[CENSORED]r Bronco model. The Wildtrak has more of a high-speed desert off-roader feel to it. It comes with the 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6, which is related to the excellent engine in the Ford F-150. Expect this engine to have 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, which should be plenty of power for high-speed desert adventures. This engine uses a 10-speed automatic. You can get the Wildtrak with 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels. There will also be a First Edition, limited to 3,500 units, that’s said to be a mix of Badlands features, the Outer Banks interior, and the Wildtrak exterior. The ultimate Bronco off-roader is the Badlands model. This is the one with a choice of two types of 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels and 35-inch tires. There’s a front stabilizer bar disconnect and locking differentials. All Bronco models will be available with an advanced 4WD system with auto mode and a 2-speed electromechanical transfer case. Add the Sasquatch package to any model, and you get 17-inch beadlock wheels, electronic front and rear axles, the topline 4-wheel-drive system, high-clearance suspension, and High-performance Off-road Stability Suspension with Bilstein position- sensitive shocks. Add the Sasquatch and the uplevel 4WD system, and this model could very well be a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon fighter (yeah, I said it). 2021 Ford Bronco Engine The 4WD-only 2021 Ford Bronco is available with two engines. The standard engine, a 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost 4-cylinder, is expected to put out 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The optional engine, a 2.7-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6, is anticipated to offer 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The standard transmission, a 7-speed manual (six speeds + crawl), is only available with the 2.3-liter engine. Both engines are available with a 10-speed automatic. (This is a far cry from the 1966 Bronco's 105-horsepower engine and 3-speed manual.) Ford has not next announced fuel economy for the Bronco.

Two of President Donald Trump's top advisers desperately tried to stop him from assassinating Iran's highest-ranking military official, General Qassem Soleimani, in the days leading up to the strike on January 3, according to veteran journalist Bob Woodward's book "The Fury." Insider got an early copy of the book, which is due for release next Tuesday. Woodward reported that on December 30, Trump told South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, "I am thinking of hitting Soleimani," the leader of the hardline Iranian paramilitary force that supports militants attacking US forces. Trump and Graham were playing golf at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, when Trump came up with the idea. "Hey, boy, that's a giant step!" Graham replied, apparently annoyed by Trump's suggestion, as it says in the book. The South Carolina senator told Trump that if he orders the assassination of Soleimani, he will also have to plan what steps to take if Iran escalates the conflict. "If they somehow retaliate, which they will, you have to be ready to get rid of the oil refineries," he said. But he added that if Trump did so, "it would be an almost complete war." According to the book, Trump said of Soleimani: "He deserves it." "We have all this information that shows that Soleimani is planning attacks," he added. Graham replied that Soleimani "had always done this." He added that Trump should think about his response and what Iran might do to respond, especially "with the approaching elections." "This risks a major war," Graham said. Then Trump spoke about the Iranian-led missile strikes that killed a US contractor in Iraq on December 27. The day after Trump and Graham spoke, pro-Iranian militias stormed the US embassy in Baghdad. "We will not let them get away with this," the president said. Graham still urges extreme caution, telling Trump: “Mr. President, this is overrated. What about hitting someone with a level lower than Soleimani, who would be easier for everyone to absorb? ” It was a startling statement from Graham, one of the most hawkish members of Congress who has greatly urged more US military intervention in foreign lands. Woodward stated that Graham wasn't the only one anxious. Also Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff at the time, submitted an "urgent application" to the South Carolina senator. "You must find a way to stop this talk of hitting Soleimani," he said, pleading with Graham, "Maybe he'll listen." Four days later, Woodward wrote, Trump ordered the strike. Despite Graham's unstated reservations about the strike, he publicly supported the president's decision. "This was a preemptive and defensive strike planned to eliminate the organizer of the attacks that had not yet come," Graham said during an interview with "Fox and Friends" on January 3. And at the expense of the region and throughout the region. The president has been informed of these potential attacks, and he has acted. ” Although it was widely agreed that Soleimani was responsible for the deaths of American forces, Trump's decision was highly controversial. It was a move that Trump's direct predecessors, Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, avoided, knowing the consequences could be disastrous.

On an overcast Saturday morning on 2 October 2004, 13 people got together in Bushy Park, south-west London, to go for a run. A 5km run. The organizer, Paul Sinton-Hewitt, was at a difficult time in his life. “I was unable to run due to injury,” he remembers, “and many of my personal and professional relationships had broken down. I was at a low point. ” The run became a regular weekly event; when more people joined in, Sinton-Hewitt and his friends would gather afterwards to collate the runners’ times over coffee. “Really, I wanted to get together with my friends, even though I couldn’t run,” says Sinton-Hewitt, now 60. “It was always about bringing people together, always about the coffee.” A couple of years later, a second Time Trial, as it was then known, was started, not far away on Wimbledon Common. More followed, in England, Wales, Scotland and Zimbabwe, where Sinton-Hewitt was born. By early this year, parkrun, as it was renamed, comprised 2,237 weekly events (1,863 Saturday 5k runs, 374 Sunday 2k junior versions) in 22 countries including Russia, Malaysia, Canada and Eswatini (formerly Swaziland). All were organized and presided over by local volunteers wearing hi-vis vests. The format is the same everywhere: it's free, you register, print a barcode, turn up, run, jog or walk the course. Later you get an email or a text with your time. Since the beginning, 4,430,272 people have completed 61,042,282 parkruns. That’s 183,682,350 miles in total - or roughly from Bushy Park to the sun and back. And then, in March, coronavirus stopped everything. Within weeks, parkrun was canceled worldwide. This was no time for hundreds, or even thousands, of people to be clustering together. There are almost as many reasons for doing a parkrun as there are people doing them. To get fitter, to lose weight, to beat last week's time, to beat someone else, for the camaraderie, for the community, for that coffee afterwards, to see people, to escape from people, to exercise the dog, to exorcise the black dog - or at least to outrun it, keep a step ahead of its jaws. It’s about inclusiveness, wellbeing and creating a healthier, happier planet. “Parkrun is a fantastic event for the older female runner,” says Annie Ross, 69, an artist and longtime runner in Maidstone, Kent. She was one of many Guardian readers who responded to a call-out asking for parkrun stories. “We are all in need of exercise,” she continues, “and you can see achievement, whatever level you run at. I love the idea of coming out regularly on a Saturday morning, and seeing friends and neighbors all taking part. ” Annie has had Covid-19 and took a long time to recover, but missed her Saturday 5k runs so much that in the past few weeks she has completed three “(not) parkruns”, running her local course on her own in her own time . For Sammy Doublet, 17, a sixth-form student in Brighton, it is all about running as fast as possible and trying to beat as many people as possible. “It’s my deep-rooted competitiveness that drew me to parkrun,” he says. Worried about her fitness in her late 50s, Janice Bell in Southsea “was instantly hooked and it grew into something close to an obsession. I was closing in on my 200th parkrun when lockdown happened; I have run in more than 50 different locations, including parkruns in New Zealand, Japan and France. ” Since it became possible to meet up with others, Janice has been joining a group of friends for an informal run, followed by breakfast together. “Almost as good as the real thing, but not quite,” she says. "I am desperate for it to restart."

After years of stasis, BMW is finally ready to move forward with additional members of it “i” family of electrified vehicles, and has released more details about the i4, a pure-EV sedan that is set to reach dealerships in 2021. The i4 will join the existing i3 compact, the upcoming iX3 battery-powered version of the current X3, and the future iNext SUV as BMW works toward its goal of fielding 12 EVs by 2025. The i4 is to use what BMW characterizes as its fifth-generation eDrive powertrain, a modular system that is set to make its debut in the iX3 and also will be used in the iNext. In the i4, the electric motor is good for 530 horsepower. It's fed by a battery pack of roughly 80 kWh that weighs approximately 1,200 pounds, and the range is claimed to be on the order of 370 miles (although that's on the European WLTP test cycle, which is more generous than the EPA's). BMW is quoting a 0-to-60-mph time of 4.0 seconds and a top speed of more than 124 mph. 80-percent recharge in 35 minutes BMW is standardizing its recharging methodology across its EV and PHEV models, and we’re told the new system will have a charging capacity of up to 150 kW. Using such a high-capacity source, the 80-kWh battery pack in the i4 could be recharged to 80 percent full in just 35 minutes. And a 6-minute recharge would add 62 miles of range. The i4 is being shown still wearing some disguise, although its general shape is plainly visible. The model, which is described as roughly the size of the current 4 Series Gran Coupe, appears to avoid the controversial surfacing of the i8 sports car (which departs next year) or the oddball detailing of the i3 compact. The i4 is set to begin production in 2021. The product rollout cadence has the battery-powered iX3 arriving in 2020, with the larger iNext and the i4 following.

A Chinese virologist announced that she had left her country for the United States of America, with scientific evidence that the emerging corona virus was man-made, and that she would announce it soon, according to the Daily Mail. Dr. Li Mingyan, a specialist in virology and immunology at the Hong Kong School of Public Health, confirmed that Beijing was aware of the Corona virus before the reports began to appear, and that she fled Hong Kong for fear for her life, noting that the Chinese government “deleted all Its information ”from government databases. She added that the reports that the Corona virus originated in the Wuhan Animal Market is just a "smoke cloud", and that it has evidence that the virus is not from nature and that it is man-made, confirming that it will publish this evidence. She said that the Corona virus originated in the virus laboratory in Wuhan, and that the Chinese government created it, and continued, “The genome sequence resembles a human fingerprint. Based on that, you can define these things. I'm going to use [this] evidence to tell people why this came from the lab in China, and why they made it. ” She stated that it would enable anyone, even if he did not have biological knowledge, to know and verify how China made the virus, and she claimed that before she fled her country, her information was erased from government databases and that her peers were asked to spread rumors about it. Yan explained that she was one of the first scientists to study the Corona virus, and that was at the end of December 2019, and that through her medical and scientific contacts, she found a cover-up of epic proportions about the transmission of the virus, confirming that Beijing deliberately distorted the details of the origin of the virus. As the death toll rose, Dr. Yan felt it had a moral and scientific imperative to break the silence, and now in hiding after traveling to the United States, she feared that her life was in danger. "I was a doctor with a doctorate degree, and I work with a group of leading experts in the world, and because I got my university degree from China, I was assigned to conduct the confidential investigation of the new pneumonia in Wuhan," Yan said. And she continued, "During my investigation, I told my supervisor what I found, and there was no response, because everyone was worried, so I kept silent." The Corona epidemic is transmitted from person to person. ”

If you’ve never tried frying tofu until crisp, then giving it a bath in a tasty sauce, you’re in for a real treat After considerable experimentation, I’m willing to put a stake in the ground and say that I’ve found a favorite way with tofu. Of course, there might soon be another new favorite way, but until then, it is this: fry it hard, then braise it. Frying it over a high heat gives the tofu a crisp exterior, while a quick soft braise makes those crisp edges delightfully chewy and allows the tofu to soak up whatever sauce it's put in. This was a point of kitchen enlightenment for me, and I hope it is for you, too. Shaoxing and soy braised tofu with pak choi It's worth doing all the prep up front and putting things into small piles within reach of the stove, because this comes together in a few minutes. Shaoxing wine tastes much like dry sherry and many major supermarkets now stock their own brand; Otherwise, you’ll find it in any Chinese supermarket. Prep 15 min Cook 45 min Serves 4 8 dried shiitake mushrooms (or 10g) 1 tbsp cornflour 2 tbsp Shaoxing wine 2 tbsp light soy sauce 1 tbsp dark soy sauce 1 tsp caster sugar 450g extra-firm tofu, pressed to remove the water 2 tbsp neutral oil 3cm piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated 5 garlic cloves, peeled and minced 6 spring onions, trimmed and cut on a steep angle 2 bird’s eye chillies, finely chopped 250g pak choi, shredded Steamed rice, to serve Put the mushrooms in a small heatproof bowl and pour over 300ml freshly boiled water. They’ll do their best to float, but immerse them by pressing them down with a spoon or gently pressing the base of another bowl on top. Leave for 10 minutes, then squeeze out the mushrooms into the bowl, and finely slice the flesh; put both the liquid and mushrooms to one side. In a separate little bowl, mix the cornflour with two tablespoons of the mushroom stock, then add the Shaoxing wine, both soy sauces and the sugar, stir and put to one side. Once you’ve pressed all the water from your tofu, cut it into 1.5cm slices. In your widest nonstick pan for which you have a lid, heat two tablespoons of oil over a medium heat and, when very hot, add the tofu slices in a single layer. Leave to fry for three to five minutes, until golden then flip over with a spatula and fry the other side. Transfer to a plate and set aside. In the same pan, on a medium to high heat (add a little extra oil, if need be) and, when hot, add the ginger, garlic, spring onions and chillies and fry for about four minutes, until fragrant. Turn down the heat, then add the cornflour and soy sauce mixture, the sliced mushrooms and their reserved stock (save for the final teaspoon or two, which may contain some grit), and stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then return the tofu slices to one side of the pan and put the shredded pak choi on the other side. Cover the pan, leave for five minutes until the tofu is hot and the greens tender, then take off the heat. Distribute across four plates and serve with freshly steamed or boiled rice.

Is the 2021 Genesis G80 a good luxury car? While Genesis is relatively new to the scene and doesn’t have the brand cachet of more established European makes, it does have a proven track record of delivering solid products. The G80 offers technology and comfort on par with its rivals at a low cost. Throw in a longer warranty and you have a compelling case for adding the G80 to your shopping list. What makes the 2021 Genesis G80 unique in its class? The Genesis G80 checks all the boxes of cars in this class by offering a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive and a full suite of driver assists. The 2021 G80 has much more dramatic styling than the understated model it replaces. Also, there are leading-edge technologies, like camera-based adaptive suspension that will give the G80 an edge in its class. Does the Genesis G80 offer good resale value? Thanks to its class-leading warranty of 5 years / 60,000 miles bumper-to-bumper and 10 years / 100,000 miles on its powertrain, the Genesis G80 performs well in holding its value. Where is the 2021 Genesis G80 built? The Genesis G80 is imported from South Korea, where it's built at a plant in Ulsan by the division's parent company, Hyundai. KBB Editors’ Overview Genesis is an upstart among luxury brands having launched as a separate division from Hyundai in the past three years. Its beginnings are analogous to Lexus, which was created three decades ago by Toyota. The G80, formerly known as the Hyundai Genesis, has established itself as a 5-passenger luxury sedan by offering plenty of features, good build quality and value. Renamed the G80, it’s been an anchor in the lineup and continues in that critical role through its first complete overhaul since the division’s start. The new model embodies the bold styling introduced on the facelift of the G90 and in the debut of the GV80 SUV. In addition to giving it an all-new look, Genesis says the all-new platform will also provide the same driving thrills we’ve come to expect from the G70. Beneath that sheet metal is a rear-drive-biased platform that offers available all-wheel drive. Perhaps the biggest change is the elimination of the 420-horsepower V8 as an option. Also, the previous normally aspirated 3.8-liter V6 base-engine has given way to a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4. The step-up engine is a new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. It replaces the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 that previously slotted between the base V6 and the V8. Genesis has both technology and value on offer here in the 2021 G80. In addition to all the latest safety and driver assists, this midsize sedan is also equipped with the latest in infotainment and connectivity. Base prices start below $ 50,000, which is a relative bargain among its rivals like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, and Audi A6. In addition to its class-leading warranty, Genesis also offers a wide range of concierge services and 3-years’ complimentary maintenance as part of the ownership experience. Favorite Features CAMERA-BASED ADAPTIVE SUSPENSION This available feature uses a camera to read to the road surface ahead and adjusts the suspension in real-time to provide both a comfortable ride and precise handling. REMOTE PARK ASSIST Using your key fob outside the vehicle, you can remotely move the G80 forward or backward to position it in tight parking spaces. The car is also equipped with a self-parking feature that will parallel or perpendicular park the vehicle with the driver behind the wheel. 2021 Genesis G80 Interior With its minimalist interior design, the new Genesis G80 promises a sense of serenity. That clean look extends to the 2-spoke steering wheel that has minimal switchgear. Other controls on the dash are also grouped on the lower half allowing for an uncluttered upper surface. The only major element is a prominent 14.5-inch infotainment screen controlled by a console-mounted dial that incorporates a handwriting-recognition surface. The G80 also employs a second large console-mounted dial as the gear selector. In front of the driver is an available 12.3-inch instrument display that includes a 3D appearance for the gauges. The luxuriously appointed interior includes heated / ventilated seats, front and rear. Active bolsters in the front seats use air bladders to provide varying levels of support depending on the selected drive mode. The all-new architecture of the 2021 G80 provides improved visibility thanks to a thinner A-pillars, a low cowl, and a frameless rear-view mirror. 2021 Genesis G80 Exterior The new G80 has a bolder look thanks to its massive shield-shaped diamond-pattern grille. The execution is in line with the larger G90 sedan and GV80 SUV, which includes thin, twin-bar lighting elements that wrap into the front fenders. While the G80 rides on the same 118.5-inch wheelbase as its predecessor, the new model is about an inch and a half wider and a touch lower, giving it greater presence. The twin-bar light theme is carried through the fender vents aft of the front wheels and through the rear LED taillights. The rear lights start on the rear haunches and run side-to-side across the rear. In profile, the G80 has a long hood and low, sleek fastback roofline that sweeps down into the rear deck. A crisp character line flows from the top of the fenders, through the side and above the rear wheel arches, giving the car the tapered, aerodynamic look of a 4-door coupe. 2021 Genesis G80 Standard Features Standard equipment on the new Genesis G80 includes 18-inch wheels, LED lighting, leatherette upholstery, 12-way power heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry with push-button start, dual-zone climate control with microfilter, a 14.5-inch infotainment screen, navigation, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto Compatibility, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping and follow assist, rear-cross traffic collision avoidance, and forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. 2021 Genesis G80 Options Among the available features on the G80 are camera-based adaptive suspension, surround-view monitor, 19- and 20-inch wheels, all-wheel drive, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, automatic adjusting seat bolsters, 3-zone climate control, Nappa leather upholstery, remote smart-parking assist, wireless device charging, a panoramic sunroof, power trunk, power door-close, a digital key, and a power rear sunshade. 2021 Genesis G80 Engines There are two engines offered in the 2021 Genesis G80, a base turbocharged inline 4-cylinder, and a twin-turbo V6. Both mate to 8-speed automatic transmissions. In standard form, the G80 comes as rear-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is available.

On Friday, firefighters and helicopters of the Lebanese army extinguished the flames caused by a massive fire that broke out in the port of Beirut on Thursday, about a month after a massive explosion destroyed the port and the surrounding area. Smoke from the fire on Thursday, which officials said erupted due to welding work during repairs after the port explosion last month, covered several neighborhoods in Beirut with a huge black cloud, causing panic in a city still in tension after the Beirut Port blew up on 4 Last August. The August 4 bombing at the port exacerbated the challenges in a country suffering from a massive economic crisis, facing the greatest threat to its stability since the civil war that raged from 1975 to 1990. The Lebanese Civil Defense said in a statement that its personnel put out the fire this morning, after working all night, and cooled the site to avoid it burning again. Lebanese President Michel Aoun said in a meeting of the Supreme Defense Council on Thursday evening that the fire may have resulted from sabotage, technical error or negligence. He called for a speedy investigation. Many Lebanese are frustrated that no preliminary results have been released from the investigation into the bombing last month, which killed more than 190 people and injured 6,000 others. Hassan Diab's government resigned after the port explosion, and Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Adib is racing against time to form a new government by next week to meet a two-week deadline agreed upon under French pressure.

After months of not seeing my youngest grandchild, he came to live with me, alongside my daughter and her partner. I love it, even if my washing machine does not Ican hear him now, chatting away to his mum in between fits of shrieking giggles. I love this sound, just as I love the look of permanent surprise he has whenever he sees me. In my room, in the living room, in the kitchen, in the garden. His expression always seems to say: “WHAT are you doing in my house?” For my house is now his house. I had not planned to be living with a baby at this stage of my life, but then I had not planned for a pandemic. The economic consequences of Covid do not need to be explained to me, nor the cost of housing. As a result of all this, and having not seen them at all during the first months of lockdown, my middle daughter, her partner and their baby moved in with me. My teenage daughter also came back from her travels. Suddenly, my house has filled up not just with people, but with gear. Baby gear. When they moved in, I went to the coast for a week to give them space - but there is no space big enough for the amount of stuff a modern baby needs. It baffles me. When I had my kids, my aim was always to travel light, with the minimum of kit. In truth, this meant training them to sleep in fold-up buggies so I could stay at the pub or the party. I am staggered, too, by the amount of washing. Who knows how long my knackered old machine will cope? So far, me and the washing machine are still functioning. But I am worried about the spin cycle. Little by little, I am getting to know the baby. I did not really know my youngest grandchild before: thanks to the lockdown, I had not seen him for months; none of us knew that we would be apart for so long. This story is the story of so many families. But he is a joyous little being. He claps when I enter the room and he loves the cat. What’s not to like? I know that if he cries, it is not me that has to go to him because his parents are here, so I can sleep through it. Covid tore us apart and then threw us together again. Life is change, after all, and it goes on, whatever happens. A baby reminds you of that more than anything. After the quiet of lockdown, a buzz has returned to my house in the form of this little being who delights, as infants do, in being wherever he is. My home is his home. The pandemic forced this move on to all of us, but now it feels not just the right thing to do, but the right way to be living. by : Suzanne Moore

Genesis revealed the updated 2022 G70 sedan, which closely resembles the new G80 sedan and all-new GV80 SUV, before it goes on sale in Korea next month. It will be powered by a base 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with a more powerful dual-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 likely as an option. Expect prices to start at just over $ 37,000 when it goes on sale in the US. Genesis gives the G70 sedan a major redesign for 2022 that makes it look closer to its older sister G80, which took styling advice from its first Genesis SUV: the GV80. The new G70 will also have a (wagon) firing brake model, but we are not sure if it will make its way into the US market. Additionally, Genesis has confirmed that it will not offer a manual transmission in the new G70. The new look, complete with the crest grille and quad-headlamp setup, is similar to that of the recently redesigned 2021 Genesis G80 sedan and the all-new 2021 GV80 SUV. The horizontal two-bar theme continues in the rear of the G70 with the LED taillights, and below that are dual oval exhaust tips and a body-color rear diffuser. This new G70 will also use the same base engine — a 290-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four — as the G80 sedan and GV80 SUV, replacing the previous model's turbo 2.0-liter. It's also likely that a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6, also found in the two other Genesis vehicles, will replace the G70's existing 3.3-liter. Unfortunately, Genesis has confirmed that it'll no longer offer the six-speed manual transmission, which is currently available on the 2.0T. However, we aren't too upset, since we weren't actually big fans of this particular manual. A 10.3-inch infotainment screen is standard on the 2022 G70, and the new model also comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. The rest of the interior gets a more simplistic update as well, and Genesis flipped the wireless charging pad to a horizontal layout to fit larger phones. The 2022 Genesis G70 will go on sale in South Korea next month and should follow in the U.S., starting just over $ 37,000, sometime by the end of the year or early next. We'll know more details about the redesigned G70 sedan soon.
