By the sounds of it, it won't be long before most games are ready to go on Intel's new 12th Gen processor. Intel Alder Lake has some issues with a handful of games, most of which appear to be down to the use of Denuvo DRM. Well, today we found out which games exactly are running into issues on Intel Alder Lake, and a way to get around the issue temporarily, but also that Denuvo itself says it's not who you should be looking to for a patch, because it's already done its part. Denuvo has sent a statement to me that says that it has already provided the required patches for the affected games, and that it's now down to developers to implement them. In fact, it says it had these patches ready to roll before Alder Lake even launched (which happened yesterday, November 4). Here's the statement in full from Reinhard Blaukovitsch, managing director of Denuvo:"Denuvo has been working closely with Intel, as we do with other hardware providers, to verify that all our security features are working as expected and test the compatibility with their newest CPUs. It is essential to highlight that almost all game titles using the Denuvo technology will work out of the box with the Alder Lake CPU. Suppose you are a fan of older games. In that case, a very limited number of affected titles would need to be re-protected and patched to ensure compatibility with Intel’s latest processors. In rare cases, compatibility issues may result in a crash, sometimes hours within the gameplay. Denuvo already contacted each publisher of the affected game titles and provided patches for those titles to be compatible with Alder Lake ahead of its release. We are confident that publishers of the few affected titles are working on releasing updates that address this incompatibility as soon as possible." As mentioned in the statement, it's only a handful of games today that aren't working with Alder Lake today, and a good few of those are expected to be fixed en masse in an upcoming Windows 11 update. The others, it seems, will fall to developers to fix as and when they can. Intel previously confirmed that it is working with developers to get these patches implemented. Hopefully the fact developers have the relevant patches already will mean it isn't too long before all is well for Intel Alder Lake chips. And if you haven't read what the fuss is about already, check out our Intel Core i9 12900K review and Intel Core i5 12600K review for more. Cross-organizational collaboration is coming to Teams Working together with others outside your organization in Microsoft Teams will soon be possible thanks to a new update to Microsoft's online collaboration tool. Workgroups often extend beyond one's organization with employees connecting with multiple external stakeholders including customers, vendors and partners. However, up until now, users had to rely on different software or even personal apps to collaborate with them. Not only does this require employees to use multiple apps which takes longer and can reduce their productivity, it also creates security risks for both workers and their companies. For this reason, Microsoft is currently working on two updates that leverage Microsoft Teams Connect and the secure access capabilities of Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) to make cross-organizational collaboration easier for businesses. Cross-organizational collaboration The first update involves shared channels which allow individuals and teams across multiple organizations to work together in Microsoft Teams. When this feature becomes available in preview early next year, shared channels will appear within each Member's Teams tenant alongside other teams and channels. Users will also be able to schedule a shared channel meeting, use other Microsoft apps like Office and share each channel with up to 50 teams and as many organizations as they need. Meanwhile, admins can use cross-tenant access settings in Azure AD to configure granular and differentiated trust relationships for external collaboration with different organizations. Microsoft is also working on another update scheduled to rollout by the end of this year that will enable Teams users to chat with others outside their network including those using Teams personal accounts. They'll be able to invite any Teams user to chat using an email address or phone number while remaining within the security and compliance policies of their organization. Cross-organizational collaboration is the Teams update many users have been waiting for as it will allow Microsoft's collaboration tool and video conferencing software to become a one-stop-shop for all of their business dealings both internally and externally. Xiaomi is expected to bring Loop LiquidCool Technology to its devices in 2022. Xiaomi on Friday, November 5 announced a new technology called the Loop LiquidCool that is says will ensure efficient cooling of smartphone processors. The heat dissipation method introduced by the Chinese smartphone giant is claimed to separate hot air and cooling liquid circulations that lower heat convention issues on mobile phones. Inspired by cooling systems used in aerospace technologies, the Loop LiquidCool Technology is a new take on the conventional vapour chamber. It works based on the capillary effect that draws liquid cooling agents to the heat source, vapourises, and then disperses the heat towards a cooler area. The company is planning to pack the Loop LiquidCool Technology in its smartphones in the second half of 2022. Xiaomi showcased the new Loop LiquidCool Technology via a blog post. The company claims that the new technology offers double the cooling capabilities compared to the conventional vapor chambers (VC) solutions. Loop LiquidCool Technology includes an annular heat pipe system that features an evaporator, a condenser, a refill chamber, gas, and liquid pipes. When there is a significant workload for the smartphone, the evaporator's refrigerant evaporates to gas. The gas and airflow then diffuses to the condenser where the gas further condenses into liquid. These liquids are absorbed and collected through small fibers in the refill chamber making it a self-sustaining system. The new technology uses the same method as VC liquid cooling, says Xiaomi. Even so, the conventional VC systems do not have separate channels for gases and liquids. In Loop LiquidCool Technology, the pump features a special gas pipe design that is claimed to reduce air passage resistance by 30 percent and increase the heat transfer capacity up to 100 percent. With a Tesla Valve microstructure, one-way circulation is said to prevent heat from moving backward, and increase the heat dissipation capability of standard vapour chambers. Xiaomi also illustrated the new method on a custom Xiaomi MIX 4 by replacing the original vapour chamber with the new Loop LiquidCool Technology solution. The company claimed that for 30 minutes of Genshin Impact running on 60 frames per second (fps) and maximum graphics settings, heating did not exceed 47.7 degrees Celsius and the processor was 8.6 degrees Celsius lower than the standard version. God Mode packs tons of advanced settings into one folder. There are all sorts of tricks for making Windows better, but one of the most advanced secrets in Windows 10 and 11 is a hidden feature that some call "God Mode." God Mode has a long history: Since the launch of Windows Vista in 2007, you've been able to make a custom folder that shoves the entirety of the Windows Control Panel into a list. You can't clip through walls or become invincible with it, but you can skip the modern, sometimes annoying Windows interface and get right to the options you want. The "God Mode" nickname seems to have been largely po[CENSORED]rized by bloggers around 2010, probably because it's way catchier than the real name: Windows Master Control Panel shortcut. That doesn't really feel powerful or elusive, does it? So God Mode it is. This trick works in both Windows 10 and Windows 11 (and if you're still rocking Windows 7 or 8, yep, it'll work for you too). Here's how to use it. Here's what Windows God Mode looks like The God Mode folder is pretty simple in functionality because its real purpose is to be a database for names to pull up when you type them into the Start Menu's search bar. It takes all of the Control Panel settings, like system restore, date and time, mouse settings, printer settings, and more, and folds them into an easily accessible list that you can also search through. A long time coming After Apple announced TestFlight on the Mac in June at WWDC to the delight of developers and users, the app is now available for macOS Monterey users. TestFlight allows users to try out test versions of certain apps, and send feedback to developers. It first appeared as an independent app on both iOS and Android in 2010 before it was bought by Apple in 2014, when Android support was unsurprisingly removed. But for years, developers and users have been wanting to see TestFlight on the Mac, as it was seen as the ideal application to help test other apps that were only available on macOS. With its release on the Mac App Store, there’s now greater opportunity for developers to test new features and apps in a much easier way, and to get feedback from potential customers. Ready for Flight Developers have seen TestFlight as a perfect method of testing the waters for its apps. Whether it’s a new feature or a completely new app, a user only needs to download TestFlight, follow a link from the developer, and download the test version for their device. It works by overwriting the existing version of the app on your device if it’s installed, and you can then try out the latest features and send feedback to the developer. Since the iOS version was released back in 2014, many people were waiting for a macOS version to arrive, so it’s great to see it finally arrive. With developers clamouring for the same easy method of distributing pre-release apps to the Mac, it’s now a reality in macOS Monterey, where they can send invites to testers and easily approve or decline requests. Mesh for Teams can be accessed from a standard smartphone to a VR headset. Microsoft Teams is getting 3D virtual avatars and environments on the platform as part of the tech giant's push towards to enter the metaverse. As hybrid work is happening around the globe, Mesh for Microsoft Teams will let people in different locations join collaborative and shared holographic experiences with productivity tools of the video-calling application. People will be able to join virtual meetings, send chats, collaborate on shared documents, and more. Microsoft says the Mesh platform will let people meet in the virtual space without having to switch on their webcams Microsoft at its Ignite 2021 conference, announced Mesh for Microsoft Teams. Mesh for Teams will start to roll out in preview in the first half of 2022. 'As a company whose focus is on productivity, on knowledge workers, it's something that customers are really asking us for, and it's coupled with the vision of mixed reality that we've been working on for 12 years. It's all coming together', said Microsoft Technical Fellow Alex Kipman. With the personalised avatars, Microsoft Teams users can ensure their presence in meetings without turning on webcams. They will be able to create and join a Teams meeting as a unique, personalised avatar. Other participants in the meeting might also be seen as avatars. Attendees can show themselves on video or use a static picture or bubble with initials. The avatar has options for customisation and can use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to imitate movements as well as gestures. Likewise, organisations can build immersive spaces — their own metaverse — within Teams. Microsoft says Mesh for Teams users can take their avatars into these spaces to mingle, collaborate on projects, and experience those “serendipitous encounters” that spark innovation. None of this will initially need a VR headset. People can access Mesh on HoloLens 2, VR headsets, standard mobile phones, tablets, or PCs — using any Mesh-enabled app. Mesh is built based on Teams features such as Together Mode and more that Microsoft says it has been developing to make hybrid working culture more productive. Mesh, was initially announced in March this year and is powered by Azure cloud computing systems. Microsoft's push for metaverse comes after Facebook unveiled virtual chat rooms as part of its rebrand to name itself Meta. Microsoft says it has joined hands with Accenture to create 'Nth Floor' using Mesh that works as a virtual campus for employees to gather for coffee, presentation, parties, and events irrespective of their locations. Currently, the new hires of Accenture meet together on Teams and receive instructions on how to create a digital avatar and access the virtual space called One Accenture Park. This could be the future of video calls after Microsoft revaled plans to make its increasingly po[CENSORED]r online collaboration tool and video conferencing software a bit more fun by once again by bringing Windows "icon" Clippy to Teams. In a new post on its feedback portal, a company spokesperson revealed that “Clippy has agreed to come out of retirement” for a Retro Sticker Pack in Teams. If this sounds at all familiar, that's because a team of Microsoft employees created a similar sticker pack for Clippy over two years ago. However, at that time, the software giant quickly shut down the project with The Verge reporting that the company's “brand police” weren't happy that Clippy had resurfaced in Teams. Clippy first appeared as a virtual assistant back in Microsoft's office software with the release of Office 97. While Clippy was created to help users navigate the Office UI and provide tips to help them improve the quality of their writing, the animated paperclip's frequent interruptions were found to be annoying which is why Microsoft decided remove Clippy altogether in Office 2007 for Windows and Office 2008 for Mac. The company did this in a sly way though by claiming the latest version of Office was so simple to use that it had put Clippy out of a job. Teams sticker pack It now looks like Clippy's retirement has come to an end as Microsoft is planning to release a new retro sticker pack featuring the iconic Office character. Teams users will soon be able to reply to their coworkers in Teams chat using a variety of stickers featuring Clippy in a number of situations around the office. For instance, there are stickers showing Clippy with a cup of coffee, working on a laptop and covered in bandages after an office mishap. If a Clippy sticker pack isn't enough for your nostalgia, you can also download a Teams background featuring the iconic character and he has also replaced the standard paperclip emoji in Windows 11. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is said to be offered in Cream, Grey, Pink, and White. Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition (FE) launch seems to finally be around the corner as some images have surfaced online that show the design of the back panel of the smartphone. These back panels show a design very similar to the Galaxy S21 series. The images show the upcoming smartphone with a triple rear camera setup in a rectangular module in the top left corner. Earlier this week, it was reported that the Galaxy S21 FE will be globally unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022. Tipster Roland Quandt (@rquandt) shared some images of the rear panel of the soon-to-be-launched Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. The tweet has images for four colours for the back panel — Cream, Grey, Pink, and White. At the bottom of the panel there is a Samsung logo with the standard bunch of regulatory labels. These images also hint at the design of the camera module — that will have a triple rear camera setup in a rectangular housing. The LED flash is seemingly placed outside the housing. Quandt further shared that the back panel of the Galaxy S21 FE is already available in spare parts stores in the UK. A listing on Headlane shows the back panel is available for GBP 11.80 (roughly Rs. 1,200) with 5 units available in the UK and 12 in the Netherlands. The listing mentions that the back panel is for a Samsung smartphone with the model number SM-G990. Moore's Law is Dead has revealed more of Intel's secrets. Given how hard getting your hands on graphics cards can be at the moment, even talking about them can feel like a pipe dream. But dreamers we are, and there are new photos of Intel’s Arc Alchemist graphics card to help fuel us. The photos were shared by Moore’s Law is Dead (thanks, Videocardz), a YouTuber who’s making a reputation for spreading seemingly reputable information about Intel’s upcoming hardware. They appear to show both sides of the flagship Arc Alchemist graphics card, giving us a nice look at the fans, but more importantly the PCB layout. Intel’s Arc Alchemist graphics card, previously known as the Intel DG2 discrete graphics card, shows off a nice black and silver colour scheme, and the top 512EU model is expected to sport up to 16GB GDDR6 memory and 4096 FP32 shading units. These specs are inline with thoughts that this card is set to stand against at the least, Nvidia’s RTX 3070 and AMD’s Radeon RX 6700 XT. German Maximilian Gotz has shown that he will fight until the last second for the DTM title after leading FP1. Leader Liam Lawson set the tone in FP2 to make it clear that he is not going to be easily beaten. The DTM is decided at the Norisring and four drivers play to be the first champion in the history of the event under GT3 regulations. A duel that will be played in two rounds on an urban track that offers no margin for error and in which two of them have been protagonists during the free practice sessions for the moment. In fact, Maximilian Götz was the fastest driver in FP1 in Team HRT's Mercedes # 4. Without wanting to see how his pursuers 'revolt', Liam Lawson has set the best time of the day in FP2. If something defines Norisring, it is equality. On a circuit with a lap that is under 50 seconds, making a difference is almost impossible. All in all, Maximilian Götz managed to lead the FP1 with a time of 49,568, a record with which he beat Lucas Auer by 75 thousandths. Behind the two Mercedes drivers was Kelvin Van der Linde, second place overall in the DTM. For his part, the leader Liam Lawson closed the FP1 at 30 thousandths of the South African Van der Linde. Nico Müller has closed the 'top 5', while Dani Juncadella has finished ninth. LINK : https://www.motor.es/noticias/gotz-lawson-no-se-dan-tregua-libres-dtm-norisring-202181770.html
