The crypto crash has resulted in several mining operations offloading their graphics cards into the reseller marketplace but while these GPUs will be available at dirt cheap prices now, some users are already finding various issues such as the memory modules being defective. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Graphics Cards With Defective Memory Modules Enter The Reseller Market, Being Sold After Getting Abused In Crypto Mining Well, this was to be expected, the GPU mining flood is already here and there are several resale sites that have currently listed the entire range of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards well below their MSRPs. The Chinese and Asian markets are currently being flooded with such graphics cards but the very first users who are buying these used cards are finding several issues. A user over at the NGA.CN forums recently paid 3600 RMB or $536 US for a used MSI GeForce RTX 3080 SUPRIM X graphics card. This graphics card is currently listed at Newegg for over $1100 US and is a premium model. So paying half the price for a used variant doesn't sound like a bad deal. Even compared to MSRP ($699 US), it sounds like a solid deal. However, the reason for such a low price for the graphics card was quickly found out by the user. The user noticed that all labels from the screws had been removed which means that it was taken apart at some point. This should be expected as NVIDIA's initial RTX 30 series graphics card had major heating issues and thermal pads had to be replaced manually by users to achieve better memory temperatures on the GDDR6X modules. Since these cards have been used in crypto mining operations, they could have undergone multiple pad replacements during their mining lifetime. But that isn't the major problem, the user also discovered that in GPU-z, the GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card which is supposed to have 10 GB of memory, only showed up with 8 GB of VRAM. The RTX 3080 launched in two flavors, a 10 GB model with a 320-bit bus and a 12 GB model with a 384-bit bus. There was no in-production variant that featured 8 GB VRAM across a 256-bit bus and the reason why this card featured lower memory was discovered to be the defective memory modules. Considering just how bad these graphics cards have been abused in mining operations, it looks like at some point, two of the 10 GDDR6X memory modules gave away and ended up functioning at all. This resulted in the card failing to post. But there's already a bypass that allows users to continue using their graphics cards even if a few memory modules have died. This is achieved through the memory shielding method which is very po[CENSORED]r in crypto mining and miners can continue using the cards despite some modules having died out. A video on this method from Bilibili can be seen below: The same process not only works for the GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card but almost any other graphics card and considering that RTX 3080 isn't even the most po[CENSORED]r card for mining, there could be several used cards in the reseller market right now that might have similar modules & masked to show the full VRAM configuration in GPUz (another po[CENSORED]r method to trick users). As such, it is advised to stay away from all used graphics cards for now, regardless of how enticing these deals look and as the user himself puts it: Now there are several ways to make the rest of the memory work again by replacing the modules entirely. This has already been done by professionals but that would mean you'd have to end up paying for another graphics card with the same memory modules which defeats the whole point of paying cheap in the first place. So instead of getting into trouble with a used graphics card, just avoid them at all costs. https://wccftech.com/beware-several-used-nvidia-geforce-rtx-30-graphics-cards-with-defective-memory-modules-being-sold-after-being-abused-in-crypto-mining/?beta=1

Destiny 2 developer Bungie has filed a $7.6 million lawsuit against one Nicholas Minor, alleging they sent DMCA takedown notices pretending to be from Bungie Bungie has filed a lawsuit against one Nicholas Minor, claiming that, after receiving a copyright takedown notice on their Destiny 2 YouTube videos, they retaliated by creating a series of fake Bungie email addresses, and sending DMCA notices to other YouTubers, pretending to be from the company. Minor was the owner of a YouTube account named Lord Nazo. According to Bungie’s filing, in December 2021, CSC Global – which acts as the developer’s brand protector – sent a takedown notice to Minor after they had uploaded to YouTube the soundtrack for the Destiny expansion The Taken King. Minor allegedly refused to remove their videos, and left them online until they were removed by YouTube in January. Minor then registered a new Gmail address, designed to mimic the email addresses of CSC Global employees. In February, another Destiny soundtrack was uploaded to the Lord Nazo channel, this time from the Destiny 2 Witch Queen expansion, and again, Bungie issued an official takedown notice. Minor allegedly then registered a second CSC-style email address, and – according to Bungie’s filing (via The Game Post) – “began to send out a wave of fraudulent takedown notices.” Bungie learned of Minor’s actions when it was sent data by Google, outlining the recent takedown notices that had been issued by the supposed “CSC”, as well as the IP address from which they had originated. The former Halo developer claims that Minor orchestrated the campaign in order to damage its reputation among players and the Destiny community, as retaliation for the copyright takedowns Minor had received – the studio claims that, as well as sending out fake takedown notices, Minor used his Lord Nazo online accounts to spread “disinformation” about Bungie, and the wave of false DMCA takedowns that Minor themself had engineered. “Ninety-six times,” explains the studio’s legal filing, “Minor sent DMCA takedown notices purportedly on behalf of Bungie, identifying himself as Bungie’s ‘brand protection’ vendor in order to have YouTube instruct innocent creators to delete their Destiny 2 videos or face copyright strikes, disrupting Bungie’s community of players, streamers, and fans. And all the while, ‘Lord Nazo’ was taking part in the community discussion of “Bungie’s” takedowns, spreading disinformation. “This caused Bungie significant reputational and economic damage, for obvious reasons. As discussed below, the Destiny community was bewildered and upset, believing that Bungie had reneged on a promise to allow players to build their own streaming communities and YouTube channels on Destiny 2 content. Destiny community members were also misled to believe that Bungie’s brand protection agent was also fraudulent, causing confusion among users as to the authenticity of legitimate DMCA notices. Bungie had to devote significant internal resources to addressing it and helping its players restore their videos and channels.” Bungie is now seeking total damages of $7.6m dollars – $150,000 “for each of the works implicated in the Fraudulent Takedown Notice”. We will continue to keep you updated on this story as it develops. https://www.pcgamesn.com/destiny-2/lawsuit-dmca

ISLAMABAD: A former chairman of the Board of Investment (BoI) and member of Imran Khan’s cabinet claimed on Monday that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, po[CENSORED]rly known as MbS, wanted to invest $20 billion in Pakistan with a condition that the investment should be insulated from political and bureaucratic elite. Haroon Sharif further claimed that during their meeting in 2019, MbS took him aside and said the Saudi government was committing $20bn in investment to Pakistan, but “unless you insulate it from politics and bureaucracy this will not happen”, he quoted the crown prince as saying. Mr Haroon, who served as the BoI chairman during the PTI government, made these remarks while speaking at a Grand National Dialogue on ‘Unlocking Pakistan’s Economic Potential’, organised by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute. During his visit in 2019, MbS had pledged $20bn worth of investment in Pakistan to provide relief to the latter’s struggling economy. According to the plan, the Kingdom intended to set up infrastructure, including an oil refinery. However, the said investment had not materialised yet. Mr Sharif articulately made a case as to what was needed to ‘rise from the ashes’, and remarked that economies grew when the investment-to-GDP ratio rose, which he said was missing in the case of Pakistan. He said the future of world finance was in Asia, rather than Europe, mentioning the sovereign funds of Qatar, the UAE, Kazakhstan and China worth hundreds of billions of dollars, and advised that they needed to be tapped. Speaking on the occasion, federal Minister for Planning and Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan needed a long-term sustainable policy plan of action, one that should not be interrupted owing to political considerations. He said no investment could be sought “until and unless we put our house in order, and that necessitates a consistent policy backed by all the stakeholders”. He regretted that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor couldn’t take off in Pakistan to this day allegedly owing to political instability, unsatisfactory law and order situation and a trust deficit of sorts between various poles of power. The minister observed that the 2022-23 fiscal budget was a nightmare and there were hardly any funds to carry out the business of the state as well as development. He added that borrowing was needed to meet day-to-day expenses, which was detrimental to progress. He pointed out that Pakistan’s Foreign Direct Investment was barely $1.5bn, whereas there was a ‘cash treasure’ floating around in the Asian markets soliciting competitive economies. Mr Iqbal remarked that Pakistan had fallen behind in progress over the last 25 years, and there was a need for “some deep introspection for this failure”. He called for a national consensus on the economy, and invited stakeholders from across the board to huddle together for bailing it out and rebuilding a sovereign economic edifice. Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies Director Dr Usman Chohan said with 10 per cent tax collections, financial stability would always remain a challenge for Pakistan. Maha Rehman from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (Lums) believed the deeper issue was about incentive alignment human capital and protection from extractive, rent-seeking elements. Pakistan went from having one of the highest GDPs per capita in South Asia to being at the bottom of the table in four decades. Adjunct Professor at Lums, Dr Ikramul Haq, spoke about the trial and error story of the taxation system in Pakistan. SDPI Executive Director Dr Abid Suleri called for the formation of an Economic Security Council. https://www.dawn.com/news/1695900/riyadh-pledged-20bn-sans-political-intrusion

A deputy police director in China has been removed from office following an investigation into a brutal attack on a group of women in a restaurant. The attack in Tangshan city saw a group of men beating four female diners. The incident, captured in a shocking viral video, sparked an intense debate about gender violence in China. A report released on Tuesday found the handling of the case by the deputy director of district police and other officers had been "slow and improper". The provincial public security department report did not make clear whether the deputy director - surnamed Li - had been sacked or suspended. The violence, which occurred in the early hours of 10 June, saw a man approach a woman and put his hand on her back at a barbeque restaurant in Lubei district in Tangshan, a city in northern Hebei province. The woman responded by pushing him away. The man is then seen striking her in retaliation before other men drag her outside and continue bludgeoning her as she lies on the floor. The group of men are also seen attacking her dining partners. Another woman who tried to intervene was pushed away before landing on the back of her head against the stairs. Two of the women were admitted to hospital and were in a stable condition while two others sustained minor injuries, officials said immediately after the attack. But it has since emerged that the injuries sustained were more serious. Two of the women spent time in intensive care. The other two women were seen in photos covered in blood, although their injuries were initially classed by police as only "minor". Police reached the site at 03:09 (19:09 GMT), almost half an hour after they received the first police call at 02:41, according to a report by state media outlet the Global Times. The report adds that the suspects fled the scene just minutes after the crime, prompting many on social media to criticise the police response. Police later said they had arrested nine people on suspicion of violent assault and "provoking trouble". The #MeToo icon China is trying to silence Brutal attack on women in restaurant sparks outrage The report by Hebei's provincial public security department said the police had carried out "in-depth investigations into untimely police dispatch... and serious violations of discipline". "[The incident] caused a bad impact and aroused widespread concern," it said. It added that aside from the police deputy director of Tangshan's Lubei district, four other police officers were under investigation. The report also revealed that one of the main suspects was suspected to be involved in a number of other crimes, including illegal gambling, illegal detainment of others and affray. Police added they were escalating their investigations to look into whether the suspects had ties to criminal gangs. The viciousness of the attack sparked outrage and heated debate on social media, taking up one of the most-discussed topics on Weibo, a po[CENSORED]r social media platform in China, where violence against women remains common. Many of those posting on social media took issue with the initial official framing of the attack as a simple act of violence, and said the attackers should be punished and given criminal sentences. Others claimed to have been unfairly treated by gangs in Tangshan and wondered if local police were involved with local criminal figures. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-61878122

Whether you're trying to patch up a broken heart or figuring out how to water some plants, Logica Emotica makes you feel like a genius in short-but-sweet bursts. The puzzler features a clean and minimalistic look with 50 puzzles to challenge your brain cells, but is it worth the time and effort? Table of contents: Logica Emotica visuals Logica Emotica gameplay Logica Emotica verdict LOGICA EMOTICA VISUALS With nothing but a bunch of emoticons laid out on a portrait-mode screen, Logica Emotica is a visual treat when it comes to neatness. The UI is simple and intuitive, with no overly complicated controls or cluttered icons littering your screen. The puzzler gives players that same minimalistic experience you can expect from Bart Bonte - I've played a few of his creations before and they all have a similarly pleasing vibe. I wasn't particularly fond of the background music, though. In fact, I found myself toggling off the music in the settings just a handful of levels into the game. It felt a little distracting and tacky to me, and not at all relaxing (which was somehow my idea of the game coming into this). Thankfully, you don't really need the music to enjoy the gameplay, which is truly a work of genius. THE GAMEPLAY OF LOGICA EMOTICA The puzzles themselves require a lot of logic as there are no instructions, text, or tutorials to help you get started. You'll simply be faced with a new emoticon you have to think your way out of with each new level, and because the icons themselves are pretty intuitive, all you have to do is tap on them to see what they do and how you can actually solve the puzzle. Doors: Paradox review - "Fires up your imagination and puzzle-solving skills in challenging but forgiving ways" This requires a bit of trial and error on your part at first, but thankfully, there's a handy button to undo your last action or to reset the whole level. This is especially useful for those puzzles where one wrong turn or move can get you stuck - and there are a lot of them. In case you do find yourself backed into a corner, you can always tap on the hint icon to watch an ad and reveal the solution to the problem. Ads aren't intrusive either, which is honestly great value for such a polished game. WHAT'S THE APPEAL? The puzzles here are nothing too difficult, but they do offer a sense of accomplishment each time you clear a level. Some of the solutions to puzzles have also been done elsewhere, but it's the presentation that makes the game stand out. I also really enjoyed the fact that it doesn't punish you for not getting things right, thanks to the undo and reset buttons (and the hint system, of course). Mosaic Chronicles mobile review - "Beautiful mosaics and an entertaining narrative" It's not the most strategic title out there, nor does it have any kind of replayability, but I suppose it doesn't really want to. A game like this is obviously meant to be played in quick bursts, which is a fantastic way to spend the time when you're itching for a short but scintillating break. https://www.pocketgamer.com/logica-emotica/review/

Lenovo’s next best gaming laptops are coming, and they could make for a great budget Nvidia RTX rig. The newcomers come equipped with one of the green team’s best graphics cards for on-the-go gaming while boasting an AMD Ryzen 6000 CPU, a combination that should help boost fps on the portable setup. Highlighted by Gizmochina, Lenovo’s Legion R7000P and R9000P gaming laptops will feature respective AMD Ryzen 5 6600H and Ryzen 7 6800H CPUs. The latter top-end model packs Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics, accompanied by lower-spec RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti variants. Both the Legion R7000P and R9000P come equipped with 16GB RAM and a 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD, so you won’t have to worry about making any immediate gaming laptop upgrades. Each model also boasts a 165Hz 1440p display, which should pair nicely with Lenovo’s chosen range of specs. Lenovo’s Legion lineup is now available to pre-order in China, but it’s unclear whether the R7000P and R9000P will make their way overseas. If the laptops show up, they’ll likely serve as a last hurrah for Nvidia’s RTX 3000 series, as RTX 4000 GPUs are expected to show up later this year. That said, a slight RTX 4000 delay is reportedly on the cards, so if you’re itching to buy a new portable powerhouse ASAP, you might want to consider one of Lenovo’s Zen 3+ machines. https://www.pcgamesn.com/lenovo-legion-amd-ryzen-6000-gaming-laptop-refresh

Alright, this is getting silly now. According to the Silent Hill movie director – who is apparently working on a third movie – Konami is planning a “global” Silent Hill reboot of the horror game franchise, and it’s mostly thanks to the success of the Resident Evil series. Since the cancellation of the Hideo Kojima-directed Silent Hills and its P.T. demo, rumours of a new Silent Hill game in development have continued to spread – stating that there are multiple games planned, and Layers of Fear developer Bloober Team may be handling one of them. Other than DLC for Dead by Daylight, nothing has materialised. Adding fuel to the pyramid-shaped fire, Christophe Gans – the director of the first Silent Hill movie – explained in a French interview (thanks, ResetEra) that “the franchise is going to be relaunched in terms of videogames” and publisher Konami has “been galvanized by the success of the Resident Evil 2 and 3 reboots” to return to the world of Silent Hill. Furthermore, Gans – who says he is working on a third Silent Hill movie, supposedly for 2023, and maybe a Fatal Frame one too – says the new film “will become part of a global policy” for the series and is “part of a whole.” If correct, it seems like Konami is indeed planning a big push for the return of Silent Hill. Hopefully, we’ll actually get some sort of official announcement soon. If you can’t wait, the Total Chaos mod for Doom – which is basically a new Silent Hill game – is getting an Unreal 5 remake. https://www.pcgamesn.com/silent-hill-reboot

(CNN)Chris Stirewalt, the former Fox political editor, said Friday that he will be a witness during the House January 6 committee's next public hearing on Monday. "I have been called to testify before this committee and will do so on Monday," he said during an appearance on NewsNation, where he is employed as political editor. Fox fired Stirewalt in January 2021 after the right-wing backlash to the network -- correctly -- calling Arizona for now-President Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential election. Stirewalt wrote in a Los Angeles Times piece after his firing that the refusal to believe the election results among many of former President Donald Trump's supporters was a "tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation." During the NewsNation interview, Stirewalt said, "I am not in a position now to tell you what my testimony will be about." He continued: "I was asked to testify and I got to go." He criticized both parties for politicizing the January 6 investigation, adding, "These two parties have screwed it up from pen to post." When asked for comment on his statements, Stirewalt told CNN, "I'll let my on-air remarks speak for themselves." The House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021 US Capitol attack held its first prime-time hearing Thursday evening, detailing the findings of the panel's investigation and playing new video from closed-door depositions of members of Trump's team and depicting the violence at the Capitol. Thursday's hearing was the first in a series this month that will highlight the findings of the panel's investigation, which included interviews with more than 1,000 people about how Trump and his team tried to overturn the results of the 2020 election on multiple fronts. While the hearing aired Thursday, Fox -- which did not join other major networks in showing the hearing live -- downplayed the violence of January 6 and dismissed the revelations about Trump's conduct. The network also ignored its own role in promoting false claims about the election before the riot and the committee's publication of private messages between some of its hosts. https://edition.cnn.com/2022/06/10/politics/former-fox-editor-january-6-commitee-hearing/index.html

Thousands of protesters are gathering across the US to call for stricter gun laws in the wake of last month's mass shooting in Texas. Gun safety group March For Our Lives - founded by survivors of the 2018 Parkland school shooting - said some 450 rallies were planned for Saturday. It said it would not let politicians "sit back" as people continue to die. US President Joe Biden backed the protests, calling on Congress to "pass common sense gun safety legislation". Nineteen children and two adults were killed in the 24 May shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. That attack, and another days earlier in Buffalo, New York, in which 10 people were killed, has led to renewed calls for action on gun control in the US. March For Our Lives (MFOL) said political leaders' inaction was killing Americans. "We will no longer allow you to sit back while people continue to die," Trevon Bosley, a MFOL board member, said in a statement. Among other policies, MFOL has called for an assault weapons ban, universal background checks for those trying to purchase guns and a national licensing system, which would register gun owners. Rallies are being held in cities including Washington, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. The first MFOL protest was held days after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school shooting in Parkland, Florida, in 2018, in which 14 students and three adults were killed. Organisers say it was the largest gun safety rally in one day in US history, and thousands of students across the country left their classrooms to join the demonstrations. Mr Biden, a Democrat who this month urged Congress to ban assault weapons, expand background checks and implement other gun control measures, said he supported Saturday's protests. "Today, young people around the country once again march with @AMarch4OurLives to call on Congress to pass common sense gun safety legislation, supported by the majority of Americans and gun owners," he tweeted. "I join them by repeating my call to Congress: do something." In recent weeks, a bipartisan group of Senate negotiators have vowed to hammer out a gun control deal, though they have yet to reach an agreement. Their effort is focused on relatively modest changes, such as incentivising states to pass "red flag" laws that allow authorities to keep guns from individuals deemed a danger to others. This week the US House of Representatives voted through a series of measures regulating the sale of guns. But Republican opposition in the Senate means the bill has little chance of entering law. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-61772039

The bodies of some Ukrainian fighters killed defending the key south-eastern port of Mariupol have now arrived in Kyiv, the soldiers' families say. They say this was part of a swap with Russia, with each side receiving 160 bodies. Moscow has not commented. On the Ukrainian side, more than 50 bodies were those of members of the Azov regiment, the families say. The Ukrainians were holed up in the Azovstal steelworks for weeks. In May, the survivors were taken prisoner. Kyiv says Mariupol's last defenders were given orders to save their lives after successfully completing their main goal of holding up Russian troops and not allowing them to be redeployed to other key battlefields. Moscow says the Ukrainian defenders were forced to surrender. They were later moved to at least two locations controlled by Russian-backed forces in eastern Ukraine. Mariupol was captured by Russia in May after a months-long siege and heavy shelling that killed many civilians, including children. More than 2,500 Azovstal defenders - who also include border guards, police and territorial defence - are currently being held by Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says. What next for Ukraine's captured Azovstal fighters? In a post on Telegram late on Monday, the Ukrainian fighters' families said "the bodies of the killed Azovstal defenders" had arrived in the capital Kyiv. They said that one-third of those were fighters from the Azov regiment, and that the identification process was continuing and could take up to three months. The families added that talks were ongoing on further prisoner swaps, without giving any further details. Russia has not officially confirmed the exchange of bodies. However, Russian war correspondent Irina Kuksenkova on Friday reported that the exchange did take place on the line of contact between Ukrainian and Russian forces in the southern Zaporizhzhia region. She said each side received 160 bodies. On Monday, President Zelensky said he believed that more than 2,500 Azovstal fighters were still in Russian custody. "It's difficult to say more precisely," he was quoted as saying by Ukraine's Ukrinform news agency. He added that Ukraine's intelligence officials were working on a plan to secure the release of the fighters, without giving any further details. Kyiv wants them all handed over, but several leading Russian lawmakers are demanding that some of the soldiers - specifically from the Azov regiment - should be put on trial. The regiment was set up in 2014, with some of its members initially linked to far-right groups. Russia describes Azov regiment fighters as neo-Nazis - a claim denied by Ukraine, who says the unit has been reformed and is outside politics. Many Ukrainians regard Azov soldiers as national heroes fighting what they say is the neo-Nazi regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61723282

NVIDIA's next-generation GeForce RTX 4090 gaming graphics card is rumored to be more than twice as fast as the RTX 3090 while the RTX 4080 could be receiving a spec bump. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Graphics Card More Than Twice As Fast As RTX 3090, RTX 4080 Getting A Spec Bump, Alleged Rumor The latest information was shared by Kopite7kimi who stated that while the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card's specifications were the same as the ones he had posted earlier, the overall performance of the card has increased tremendously and now sits at over 2x versus the existing RTX 3090 behemoth. The said performance is purely rasterization so overall performance within games should vary but still, that's a big leap versus what the last generation had to offer. It also means that NVIDIA is putting that TDP-bump to good use since we are talking about a card that's expected to feature up to 450-500W TDP out of the box. More importantly, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 is said to feature a cut-down AD102 'Ada Lovelace' GPU core which means that the full variant, possibly a Titan or RTX 4090 Ti, could end up with much higher performance than the RTX 3090. This increase should also be expected considering that we are looking at over 70% CUDA cores than the RTX 3090 Ti plus the clock speeds which are rumored to be much higher than the current generation thanks to the shift to the TSMC 4N process node. It will also get a major uplift with the new architecture which includes a meaty 96 MB of L2 cache vs just 6 MB on the existing flagship GPU. Besides the GeForce RTX 4090, Kopite7kimi also states that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 is getting a spec update. Previously, the graphics card was rumored to feature a TBP of 350W but this is now changed to 420W which is a higher board power figure than the RTX 3090. The GeForce RTX 4080 is still going to utilize the AD103 GPU, a slightly more optimized variant of the AD104 GPU. This would also mean a 100W higher TDP than the existing RTX 3080 so the card could end up with some really fast specs. We also recently reported the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 with a TGP of 220W which is also much higher than its predecessor. So if you look at the overall lineup, you can expect Ada Lovelace to go bonkers with the power figures but at the same time, we can expect some massive performance gains. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Ti 'Expected' Specifications The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Ti is going to be the full-fat configuration with all of the 144 SMs enabled for a total of 18432 CUDA cores. The GPU will come packed with 96 MB of L2 cache and a total of 384 ROPs which is simply insane. The clock speeds are not confirmed yet but considering that the TSMC 4N process is being used, we are expecting clocks between the 2.0-3.0 GHz range. As for memory specs, the GeForce RTX 4090 Ti is expected to rock 24 GB GDDR6X capacities that might come at faster 24 Gbps speeds across a 384-bit bus interface. This will provide up to 1.152 TB/s of bandwidth. Now all these boosted specifications will result in higher power draw too and the flagship is expected to operate at a TBP of around 600W. Now for 600W, a single 16-pin Gen 5 connector should be enough but most of the custom variants will definitely end up utilizing dual Gen 5 connectors since AIBs don't necessarily stay within spec and even the slightest of factory overclocks will push the TBP above 600W which is the limit of a single Gen 5 power connector. We have also seen an alleged NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Ti heatsink and cooler shroud which hints at the use of a beefier cold plate that provides coverage for both the GPU and memory dies along with an overall larger structure. The leaked cooler is a Founders Edition design and judging by how big it looks, the AIB models will end up being vastly bigger and we may even end up with quad-slot designs from all partners. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 'Expected' Specifications The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 is going to be a cut-down configuration with either than same cores as the existing GA102 part but tuned with much higher frequency or between 9000-1000 cores that allow some room for a 'Ti' variant in the future with the full-fat configuration. The GPU will come packed with 64 MB of L2 cache and up to 224 ROPs which is simply insane. We have also seen an alleged NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Ti heatsink and cooler shroud which hints at the use of a beefier cold plate that provides coverage for both the GPU and memory dies along with an overall larger structure. The leaked cooler is a Founders Edition design and judging by how big it looks, the AIB models will end up being vastly bigger and we may even end up with quad-slot designs from all partners. he clock speeds are not confirmed yet but considering that the TSMC 4N process is being used, we are expecting clocks between the 2.0-3.0 GHz range. The higher than usual clock speed bump comes from the fact that NVIDIA is making a two-node jump considering the Ampere GPUs with Samsung 8nm node was in reality a 10nm process node with some optimizations. NVIDIA is skipping 7nm and going straight for a 5nm node and not even the vanilla variant but an optimized version of it. With Pascal on the TSMC 16nm node, NVIDIA delivered a huge frequency leap and we can expect a similar jump this time around too. As for memory specs, the GeForce RTX 4080 is expected to rock 16 GB GDDR6X capacities that might come at faster 21 Gbps speeds across a 256-bit bus interface. This will provide up to 672 GB/s of bandwidth. Now all these boosted specifications will result in higher power draw too and the flagship is expected to operate at a TBP of around 420W. Now for 420W, a single 16-pin Gen 5 connector should be enough for both reference and custom models. As for the launch, the graphics card lineup is expected in Q3-Q4 2022, a more detailed schedule can be seen here. https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-twice-as-fast-as-rtx-3090-rtx-4080-420w-tbp-rumor/?beta=1

A minor update is out today for Arma Reforger, the new Early Access title that’s serving as the buildup to the eventual launch of Arma 4. In the latest Arma Reforger update, Bohemia Interactive has addressed some of the stranger bugs that have popped up since the military simulation game’s Early Access launched, such as one that would result in vehicles floating serenely over the landscape like truck-shaped helicopters. Arma Reforger Version 0.9.5.66 adds spawned player protection, which means you shouldn’t get taken out by a sniper as soon as you spawn into a session anymore. Players had also found that certain guns were acting as impenetrable body armour – they would simply deflect incoming fire, giving players who used them a considerable advantage in a firefight. That’s been corrected with this patch, too. While researching the Arma Reforger hands-on impressions story for our sister site the Wargamer, I spotted a truck flying high above the ground as my team was capturing a base. It turns out, this was a persistent issue and it would happen when a player driving a vehicle had their game session suddenly terminate. That would put the vehicle in an “undefined state,” and presumably just set it on a vector that could lead it out over the horizon. That’s been fixed with this patch, too. Speaking of vehicles, those are now being “put to sleep” when they’re left empty to improve performance. The full patch notes are available at the official site, and run through all the various fixes and improvements made in the latest patch. One item on the list left us scratching our heads: it reads, “Tweaked: latrine destruction.” We’re not sure what that means exactly, but we’re assuming that however it was that bathrooms were being destroyed before, it’s better now. https://www.pcgamesn.com/arma-4/arma-reforger-update-9-5-66
