The indie online storefront itch.io is coming as a downloadable app to the Epic Games Store. Yes, you read that correctly. The digital storefront itch.io, a po[CENSORED]r platform for distributing indie games of all shapes and sizes, is coming to a different storefron, along with a handful of other PC apps. The addition will put itch.io in front of the Epic Game Store’s roughly 31.3 million active daily users and bring over 200,000 titles from itch.io to Epic’s customers. “Itch.io is a collection of some of the most unique, interesting, and independent creations you’ll find on the web,” a representative from itch.io told Polygon via email. “Bringing the itch.io app to the Epic Games Store will give us an opportunity to widen the audience of people who can discover the diverse collection of indie works that we host.” A representative from Epic Games confirmed details of how it works to Polygon. Basically, users will download itch.io on the store as they would any other app or game. Once it’s downloaded and you launch it, it’s it own thing. Epic will not take a percentage of sales of those games. Currently, developers selling their games on itch.io get to choose what percentage of their sales go toward itch.io, meaning that creators could now get the exposure of all more users on a storefront that takes a lower cut of the sales. For comparison, Steam uses a tiered system where Valve takes between a 20% to 30% cut, depending on how much money a game makes, while the Epic Games Store takes 12 percent cut. The move affirms the idea that the Epic Games Store is moving toward creating its own app store, rather than just sticking to games. Spotify came to Epic’s store late last year and was the first non-gaming app to arrive on the storefront. In addition to Itch.io, Epic’s store will also add iHeartRadio, open-source web browser Brave, 2D-to-3D modeling generator KenShape, and painting software Krita. Itch.io and the other apps roll out on the Epic Games store today.

ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove (PC, PS4, Switch [reviewed], Xbox One) Developer: HumaNature Studios Publisher: HumaNature Studios Released: March 1, 2019 MSRP: $19.99 A few months back, I got the opportunity to play ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove with series creator Greg Johnson. In a relaxed and comfortably humid showroom, the two of us sat side-by-side, guiding the titular heroes through this fragmented world as Johnson explained the ropes of the game to me. I grew up in a one-console household and the SNES was our hardware of choice. In fact, it was the choice of most of my friends. The only access we had to a Genesis was at the local Boys & Girls Club, and even then we only used it to enter Madden tournaments. So as Johnson tried to get me into the game that day at PAX, I humored him even though I just did not understand the appeal. Why do I care? What is the point of this game? How is this some treasured franchise that needs to be brought back? When I left that hands-on session, everything about it -- outside of the look on Johnson’s face when he realized how many bugs his team had to deal with before launch -- simply dissipated from my mind. Turns out, a weekend spent trying to cram as many games in as possible isn’t the best way to appreciate the brilliance of ToeJam & Earl. What I needed was a few days holed up in bed fighting a cold to see that Back in the Groove is all that and a bag of chips. ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove is a fondue pot of late ‘80s/early ‘90s American hip-hop culture. Stick a fork in and you’re bound to pull out old-school slang, funky designs, and the type of rap white people of the era didn’t find threatening. It’s all cobbled together with Nicktoons-meets-Dr. Seuss art direction and gameplay perfect for chilling out maxin, relaxin all cool. In an age where games are trying to one-up each other with how loud, fast, and exciting they are, Back in the Groove reminds us of how rewarding it can be taking it low and slow. The brief narrative driving the adventure starts out just outside our planet. After borrowing and subsequently crashing Lamont’s Rapmaster Rocket into Earth, ToeJam & Earl, as well as girlfriends Latisha and Lewanda, have to scour up to 25 randomly generated levels searching for the 10 missing pieces. Each character has their own strengths and weaknesses as well as their own initial set of stats. As I was still unfamiliar with the general concept of the game, I started in the short, tutorial mode that gradually introduced the many concepts to me in a manner that was easy to digest. Everything from exchanging presents and raising your character’s level to how to get far in the hidden Hyperfunk Zones is thoroughly covered so that no player will be confused about what to do even if they can’t quite figure out just what this game is. Back in the Groove wears a lot of backward baseball caps and you can’t really peg it in a single genre. It’s a rogue-lite scavenger hunt of an adventure game with rhythm, auto-runner, and stealth elements littered across each map. At any given moment, you can be getting’ jiggy in the middle of the desert, dodging attacks from an ice cream truck, finding peace with Gandhi, or jumping over to one of the many islands that house the biggest donors to the game’s Kickstarter campaign. While the variety of elements present in Back in the Groove isn’t quite as large as I anticipated, the absurd ways the game mashes them all together keeps the experience fresh for each run I attempt. It’s hard to nail down just why this game is so much fun, but make no mistake, Back in the Groove is fun. Even without combat or a real sense of purpose, strolling across every map, shaking trees for XP, and dodging attacks from fanboys and irate mothers is an endless joy; a joy that becomes more blissful when you add presents to mix. Throughout the game, your character will amass a collection of presents that either aids them in their journey or hinders their experience. Most presents are unidentified when you pick them up, so putting one into play is a gamble on whether or not it’ll be of any assistance to you. One of my favorite moments from the last week had me sneaking around a bunch of sleeping earthlings who immediately woke up and started chasing me when I accidentally used the “Here I Am” present, which erects a giant sign behind me and sets off the noise machine to alert everyone to my whereabouts. Unleashing that monstrosity on myself was amusing in single-player mode, but Back in the Groove absolutely sparkles as a co-op adventure. At launch, four players will be able to connect online with a day-one patch, meaning my review period was limited to local couch co-op. Honestly, that’s the best way to play this game. Each player is free to proceed at their own pace in their own direction, only occasionally being forced to the same location in certain situations. Presents can be shared with one another, so if you find your homie in a jam, you can help them out. Adversely, you can strap a pair of rocket skates to their feet and send them flying off the stage, back down to the level below. It’s a riot and with so many different presents to collect and earthlings to encounter, no two runs should ever be the same.. oeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove is unquestionably a short game but that actually works in its favor. Completing each of the 25 levels of a fixed, random, or hardcore random mode will only take a few hours depending on your playstyle. But the game is always inviting players back for repeated runs with unlockable characters, secret areas, collectible hats, some of the best music you’ll hear all year, and a visual appeal that exquisitely nails the ‘90s cartoon aesthetics. Playing this game is equivalent to downing some orange soda and Cool Ranch Doritos while watching Rocko’s Modern Life with the Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff playing on my parents’ six-CD player. With a little more variety in objectives this could be the killer co-op game to end all co-op games, but even with the same basic goal each run, ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove is one of the illest, dopest, most hella fly experiences I’ve had on my Switch. And while I know that vernacular is terribly dated, it totally works when talking about this game. System Requiremen OS: Windows 7, Windows 10. Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz. Memory: 4 GB RAM. Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 1GB / AMD Radeon HD 4870 1GB.

The American company believes that these video tutorials will help potential customers to realize the advantages of the Apple Watch and how the device can be integrated into everyday life. Apple's smartwatch will hit the market on April 24, but pre-orders are starting this week. Those interested will not have to stand in huge queues to buy an Apple Watch, as happens when other products of the American company are launched, but will have to make an appointment in an Apple store.

Hector Martin, a software developer, studied the design of the new Apple M1 and Apple A14 processors and found that both have a hardware vulnerability that cannot be fixed. Both models are made using the 5nm manufacturing process from TSMC and are found in the latest generations of devices from the iPhone, iPad and Mac families. Fortunately, the vulnerability does not allow remote device control, but it can be used for online tracking, even if Apple blocks it through software. The vulnerability of the Apple M1 and A14 processors is not as serious as it seems According to an article published on Martin's website, the Apple M1 and Apple A14 processors have a design imperfection caused by the fact that Apple did not exactly comply with the design specifications from ARM. Thus, processors that use this design, ie the latest models, are vulnerable, allowing processor-level communication of two applications running in parallel. Thus, there may be a transfer of information between them, even if it is not allowed at the operating system level. However, Hector Martin says the vulnerability does not endanger users' devices and cannot be used to steal private information or install malware in the background. The worst thing that can happen is for a company to use the vulnerability to monitor user activity in other applications. Thus, the vulnerability could allow companies to fix what Apple is trying to block through App Tracking Transparency on iOS. However, the company could detect the use of the vulnerability and ask developers to remove it from applications. It seems that a solution would be to run the operating system under a virtual machine, as the accessible software processor is a virtual one, not directly the physical one. As the next-generation processors, the Apple A15 and the new Apple Silicon M1X / M2 are already in production, this vulnerability is also expected on devices that the company will launch in 2021. A hardware or next-generation overhaul could probably fix this. problem in the future.

I'm not sure what the issue is, but it might help to enable console (at work so I can't check where, but it is togglable somewhere in options menu), press ~ , and see if it gives you any helpful information when you join the server. You've probably already tried this, but press m to bring the team select backup if it goes away, hit enter to autoselect a team. Sometimes servers have more slots available then there is room on either team (dumb, I know) which may also be preventing you from joining a team. note : Well, if the installation is corrupt, ask them to delete the game and reinstall. Also, make sure that they are not running any custom plugins.

Update: The first two games for January are available now. The second batch will be available on January 16. Make sure you claim the remaining December games before they're removed. Original story follows ... With 2020 soon coming to a close, Microsoft has revealed the free games Xbox Live Gold subscribers can claim in January 2021 as part of its Games with Gold program. Xbox users can snag Breakdown, Dead Rising, The King of Fighters XIII, and Little Nightmares for free throughout January. All four games are available to any Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S owner with an Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate membership. Check the list below to learn the availability of each. Free Xbox Games With Gold For January 2021 Little Nightmares: January 1-31 The King of Fighters XIII: January 1-15 Breakdown: January 16-31 Dead Rising: January 16-February 15 Developed by Tarsier Studios and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Little Nightmares is a 2D horror platformer where players must survive a massive industrial ship called The Maw with the fragile, yellow rainjacket-clad child Six. Having released to much critical acclaim in 2017 and receiving a few pieces of DLC thereafter, Tarsier Studios announced a sequel was in the works in 2019. Little Nightmares 2 drops on February 11, 2021. Though not the most-recent entry of The King of Fighters, The King of Fighters XIII is one of the more recognizable, having been on the market for six years before creator SNK dropped The King of Fighters XIV in 2016. The King of Fighters XIII features mechanics familiar to fans of the series, such as its traditional 3v3 team composition. This entry also introduces the brand-new EX mode, a buff that unleashes a more powerful version of a character's special. SNK recently confirmed that a reveal for The King of Fighters XV premieres early next month. Dead Rising is Capcom's wackier take on the zombie apocalypse, following journalist Frank West as he's trapped in a mall nestled within a town suffering from an outbreak. Players can use everything in the mall as a weapon, from chairs and clothing racks to guns and explosives, or craft their own gear to clear the zombie horde and escape the Willamette mall in one piece. The oldest game on the list and an original Xbox title at that, Breakdown is a first-person action game that was lauded for its choice of perspective to tell its story, something more common these days with the reemergence of immersive sim game design. Players control Derrick Cole, an amnesiac dude who, after discovering his new powers, must fight his way out of the industrial lab that performed inhumane experiments on him--and many others.

An SSH connection is typically used to connect with remote machines. It works on a client / server model, in that the machine being used to connect to a remote machine is called a client, while the latter is the server. To establish the connection with the remote machine, you must know its IP address, as well as the username/password to authenticate the connection. Because the connection is based on IP address, any change in the IP address automatically breaks the SSH connection, turning even mild-mannered users into rage monsters. Released under Apache license, Eternal Terminal can be used as a replacement for SSH. Its claim to fame is the ability to re-establish connection to a remote machine without user intervention. This is in sharp contrast to SSH connections, which once terminated have to be re-established manually. Eternal Terminal relies on SSH to connect and authenticate with the remote machine. So you must have SSH installed and running to be able to connect the different machines with Eternal Terminal. How to Install Eternal Terminal The easiest way to install Eternal Terminal is with the Homebrew package manager. If you don’t already have it installed, you can do so with a single command: bin/bash -c “$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install.sh)” This command first downloads the install.sh script, and then executes it. Once the installation is complete, follow the instructions on the screen to add brew to your $PATH. With all that done, you can now use Homebrew to easily install Eternal Terminal with the brew install MisterTea/et/et command. Because Eternal Terminal operates on the client/server principle, just like SSH you’ll also have to install it on the remote machine you wish to connect with as well. If you’re put off by the idea of having to use yet another package manager, fret not! Ubuntu users can install Eternal Terminal from a PPA while Arch and Fedora users can use the software repositories to install it. Apart from instructions on installing it on these distributions, you’ll also find directions to install Eternal Terminal on Debian and openSUSE as well as building it from source on the project’s website. On the server machine – that is, the remote host you wish to connect with – ensure that the Eternal Terminal service is active. Depending on your distro, you might have to run sudo systemctl enable --now et to activate the Eternal Terminal service on the remote machine. How to Connect with Eternal Terminal Once this is done, you can connect to the remote machine in much the same way as you would using ssh. The syntax of the command is: et username@<ip address>:{port] . By default, Eternal Terminal uses port 2022. The essential configuration, such as the port number, for Eternal Terminal are stored in the /etc/et.cfg file. See the section below on connection errors if you can’t connect to the remote machine and receive a Could not reach the ET server: <ip address>:[port] error. When connecting to a remote machine, you only need to provide the port number if you’ve changed the configuration and opted to use a different port number than the default. Additionally, if no username is provided, the tool uses the current username on the host machine to connect with the remote machine: Eternal Terminal uses SSH for handshaking and encryption, and if you’ve ever used ssh to connect to a remote machine, the output generated by the et command would seem familiar. When you first connect to a remote machine with Eternal Terminal, the host machine gets a ECDSA key fingerprint. You’ll be asked to confirm if you wish to continue connecting to this remote machine. If you answer ‘yes’, this key is stored in the ~/.ssh/known_hosts file. When connecting to a remote machine, Eternal Terminal consults this file as a way of identifying the remote machine. The key is also used to encrypt the data transmitted between the machines. You won’t be prompted to confirm the identity of the remote machine if its key is stored in the ~/.ssh/known_hosts file. To check the ssh key on the remote machine, you must run the ssh-keygen command: ssh-keygen -l -f /etc/ssh/ssh_host_ecdsa_key.pub 256 SHA256:ovbASZs2/xb44fCzxiegocpF3ZYDL/ g3Agtmefh3G6k root@playground (ECDSA) As you can see, this key is a match for the key fingerprint as provided by Eternal Terminal when trying to establish the connection with the remote host. You can terminate the connection to the remote machine by typing exit or pressing Ctrl+D. This is yet another overlap in functioning between Eternal Terminal and SSH, but that’s to be accepted since we’ve already mentioned that Eternal Terminal relies on SSH to establish connection to remote machines. Apart for the change in the bash prompt, Eternal Terminal itself doesn’t produce any output or otherwise inform you when it successfully establishes connection with a remote machine. It similarly doesn’t provide any information about poor connections, or even when the connection is lost entirely, such as when the remote machine is disconnected or powered off. As long as you’re connected to the remote machine, Eternal Terminal produces instantaneous results for all commands and operations you execute. However, if the connection is lost, such as when the remote machine’s IP address is changed or if the remote machine is hibernated, then whatever you type on the screen is no longer shown in the terminal. In fact, the terminal will appear to be non-responsive. However, Eternal Terminal remembers all the keystrokes made during this period, and executes them in order once the connection is re-established. Advertisement The project achieves this feat by implementing a special layer between the application and TCP layer. The ability to reconnect automatically only works if the connection is terminated at the remote machine. If you restart the host machine while connected to the remote machine, the Eternal Terminal session isn’t killed automatically. Instead, such Eternal Terminal sessions are referred to as orphans, and there’s no way for you to connect with such orphan sessions. Your only recourse is to establish a new connection with the remote machine. When you make a new connection, the orphaned connections aren’t terminated automatically and will persist until you manually kill them. You can do so by using the -x command option: et -x linuxlala@192.168.0.9 This command kills all orphaned sessions and establishes a new connection with the remote machine. Eternal Terminal is often compared with alternatives such as Mosh. While the latter also boasts of the autoreconnect feature, Eternal Terminal additionally supports scrolling, which means that you’ll be able to go back and forth and review the generated output on the terminal screen. How to Solve “Could Not Reach ET Server” Error Depending on the distribution running on your remote machine, you might not be able to create an Eternal Terminal session when you first run the et command. If you encounter a Could not reach the ET server: <ip address>:[port] error, this means that the remote machine doesn’t allow incoming connection on the specified port. You can either change the configuration to use a port, which is open for use, or alternatively open a port for Eternal Terminal. How you do this will depend on the distribution and the firewall utility. For instance, Fedora users can open a port with the sudo firewall-cmd addport=2022/tcp command. You can list all open ports with the sudo firewall-cmd --list-ports command. If you’re using UFW however, such as on Ubuntu, you’ll have to run the sudo ufw allow <port number> command to open the specified port. You can then run the sudo ufw status verbose command to confirm that the specified port is now open. Should you encounter any other problems with Eternal Terminal, you’ll likely find answers in the issues section of its GitHub page. It’s a po[CENSORED]r project and many common issues, such as lack of colours in the output of ls command and X11 forwarding workaround have already been addressed and closed by the developer.

To curb red-tapism and enhance transparency, NHAI will deploy software specifically to track files that will pin-point officials behind delays in disposing of matters, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has said. This will be a part of several measures to enhance efficiency and transparency at NHAI, road transport minister Gadkari said. In June last year, the National Highways Authority of India had said that it has become the first construction sector organisation to go ‘fully digital’ with cloud-based Data Lake Software. “Red-tapism will no longer be tolerated...Delayed decision-making results in losses. To eradicate red-tapism, we will be bringing a software that will specifically detect how much time one particular official has taken in disposing of any file,” Gadkari told PTI. The minister said several proposals have been made to enhance efficiency and transparency in NHAI and he had a detailed discussion with NHAI Chairman SS Sandhu and Highways Secretary Giridhar Aramane. Lauding the efforts by the NHAI Chairman and Highways Secretary, he said: “In our system, we are trying red-tapism is eliminated and decision making is made fast and transparent. Work should happen timely, corruption-free, in a time-bound manner and efficiently. Those who do not take timely decisions will be tracked”. He also warned of stern action against such officials. Besides, Gadkari said project management consultancy system will be introduced soon -- where alignment, land acquisition, forest environment clearance, utility shifting, construction, designing, road safety and roadside amenities -- everything will be provided about the project. New technologies are being promoted, while attention is being paid on reducing the cost of construction of projects without compromising with the quality, he added. Admitting that the hurdles were there in the way of innovation and reforms, Gadkari said the ministry is overcoming problems and moving ahead fast. “I take pride that work worth Rs 17 lakh crore has been done by Ministries during the NDA-1 regime without any corruption,” the minister noted. NHAI in June last year had announced introducing Data Lake software to forecast the delays, likely disputes and expedite decision making. “As one of the biggest reforms, the NHAI has gone ‘fully digital’, with the launch of unique cloud-based and artificial intelligence-powered big data analytics platform – Data Lake and Project Management Software,” it had said. NHAI had earlier said that disputes can be minimised, as Data Lake software has provisions to keep track and check on all the constraints like delays in land acquisition and ensure work is carried out within the deadlines in a transparent manner. Unhappy over the work culture of delay, Gadkari in October had warned officials that it was time to show the exit door to non-performing assets, complicating and delaying projects by creating obstacles. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has become a breeding ground for inefficient officials who are creating hurdles and referring every matter to committees and it was time to ‘suspend’ and ‘terminate’ them and bring in reforms in its functioning, the minister had said. NHAI has been mandated the task to develop, maintain and manage national highways, the arterial roads of the country, for inter-state movement of passengers and goods. National highways have a total length of about 1.32 lakh km to serve as the arterial network of the country. Although national highways constitute only about 2 per cent of the road network, it carries 40 per cent of the total road traffic.

Being on Autocar’s long-term test fleet is the ultimate test for any new car. It’s a chance for us to find out what a new machine is really like to live with over an extended period. Although the sudden – and still ongoing, for the Autocar team – advent of remote working means our office car park has been empty since March, we’ve maintained a fleet of long-termers at our various home offices. But while the need for social distancing and suitable sanitising safety measures has reduced our ability to swap cars quite so frequently, we’ve still been privileged to run some incredible cars this year. And, as is tradition, it’s time to hand out some awards. The Best Innovation (Until a Vaccine) Award - for the most innovative feature Winner: Jeep Wrangler removable roof and doors; Highly Commended: Mazda Skyactiv-X Engine, Honda E twin touchscreens Modern cars are kitted out with ever-growing amounts of cutting-edge and sophisticated technology. But sometimes the best form of addition is subtraction – which is shown by our Jeep Wrangler’s removable doors and roof. Effectively, this allows drivers to turn it from largely civilised SUV into a stripped-back off-roader with relatively limited effort. “This is a car that can tow my Defender home when the clutch goes on a rainy October evening but can also be a fun-loving roofless convertible when the sun shines,” said custodian Matthew Prior. Still, the Autocar team did also highlight some more advanced tech in this category. The compression-ignition Skyactiv-X engine in our Mazda 3 long-termer drew praise: the improvements in economy may be only relatively modest, but Mazda’s efforts to show the combustion engine still has a future are very welcome. The Honda E scored for its truly brilliant twin-touchscreen set-up, which both looks good and offers innovative, useful features. Plus, as deputy digital editor Tom Morgan noted: “Any car that rolls off the forecourt and lets me hook up a PlayStation gets the thumbs-up.” The Socially Distanced Disappointment Award - for the car you most wanted to drive but couldn’t due to Covid Winner: Toyota GR Supra; Highly commended: Jeep Wrangler, Lamborghini Huracan There are many positives to home-working and also many drawbacks. And, for Team Autocar, the latter category included the difficulty in switching cars around as much as we would like to. The rest of the team were well jell, as I believe the kids call it. “I’ve always liked the Supra’s sporty GT flavour, but I still haven’t done a really long drive in one,” lamented road test editor Matt Saunders. Meanwhile, staff writer Felix Page really wanted a go in the Huracán. He did note that the restrictions preventing him weren’t just about social distancing and home working but also a healthy fear of driving the Huracán around his speedbump-blighted neighbourhood.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has announced the resignation of his finance minister who took a trip to the Caribbean while the province remained under lockdown. Minister Rod Phillips apologised and called the travel a "dumb mistake". Mr Ford on Thursday said Mr Phillips' departure showed his government "takes seriously our obligation to hold ourselves to a higher standard". Canada's most populous province has discouraged all non-essential travel amid record-high new case counts. Mr Phillips, who is a member of the Progressive Conservative Party, had taken a personal trip to St Barts on 13 December and returned on Thursday morning. Ahead of the holiday season, Ontario health officials had urged residents to stay at home when possible amid an ongoing rise in Covid-19 cases. Presentational grey line What's the situation in Ontario? Ontario entered a strict lockdown on 26 December On Thursday, the province reported a new record-high of 3,328 new Covid-19 cases and 56 new deaths, CBC reported Canada has over 582,000 total cases and 15,600 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University Presentational grey line People line up on Christmas Day at a Covid test site in Ontario IMAGE COPYRIGHTGETTY IMAGES image captionPeople line up on Christmas Day at a Covid test site in Ontario Mr Phillips told reporters when he arrived at Toronto Pearson Airport he hoped to keep his job, but would respect the premier's decision. "Obviously, I made a significant error in judgment, and I will be accountable for that," Mr Phillips said. "I do not make any excuses for the fact that I travelled when we shouldn't have travelled." Later on Thursday, Mr Ford said in a statement he had accepted Mr Phillips' resignation following a conversation with him. Mr Ford has asked Peter Bethlenfalvy, currently president of the treasury board, to step into the finance minister role. On Wednesday, Mr Ford had said he learned of Mr Phillips travel two weeks ago, but said the minister "never told anyone" he was going to St Barts, according to CBC. Ontario's New Democratic Party leader Andrea Horwath on Wednesday had pushed for Mr Phillip's firing, saying it was unacceptable for him to "ignore public health advice" while the government "demands sacrifice from everyday Ontarians". "It's not believable that a senior member of cabinet didn't tell the premier's office he was leaving the country for weeks during the height of a global emergency," she said in a statement. "If he didn't, that in itself would be enough reason to demote him."

There are many issues in Black Ops Cold War that players would claim to be the biggest. But this is definitely the most game-breaking problem with the latest Call of Duty title to date. There are plenty of issues to be found with Black Ops Cold War. In fact, even before the game's launch, players were quick to point them out. Players hate Black Ops Cold War's visibility with a passion. Fans also want SBMM in Cold War fixed more than any other issue. There are complaints about Cold War feeling a little too barebones, as though it were rushed to launch. And there's even proof that Cold War is using Black Ops 5 assets that Treyarch must have slapped together in its hurry to get a game ready for release. Black Ops Cold War biggest issue reveal (Source: Activision) But what really matters is Black Ops Cold War's core gameplay. Players could put all these issues aside, should the game be fun to play. Hit Detection - Black Ops Cold War's Biggest Issue? Unfortunately, it appears that Black Ops Cold War's biggest issue might be its hit detection. Many players have noticed their shots missing the enemy, even when their crosshairs are firmly planted in the correct place. And it's this issue that's possibly most distressing about Black Ops Cold War. At the end of the day, a shooter is only as good as its core shooting mechanics. But it seems that Black Ops Cold War's hit detection is a little lacking, even after years in the FPS industry. A new clip on the game's subreddit highlights just how severe the hit detection issue can be. Making use of Akimbo Magnums, Reddit user shabooga628 blasts an enemy player from a few inches away. After realizing that the hit didn't register, the player aims again and shoots the enemy several more times. Strangely, only one bullet glances the enemy, who is able to react and kill the user. But this isn't the only example of poor hit detection we've seen in recent days. Earlier this week, Reddit user TylerMaillet went through a similar experience. After a couple of attempts to quickscope an oblivious enemy, the user gets what should have been a clean hit. What's more, after these shots fail to register, the user melees their foe several times at point-blank range. Unfortunately, the Black Ops Cold War issue gives the enemy enough time to once again eliminate the user. Black Ops Cold War's Biggest Issue Isn't New We've actually been seeing these issues since the game's launch back in mid-November. Despite multiple attempts to point the issue out to Treyarch, it appears that the developer doesn't see a problem with the game. Of course, some of these hit detection issues are likely due to a player's Ping in-game. And since evidence suggests that SBMM places high-skill players in low connection matches, perhaps that's what we can see in the clips above. But regardless of Ping, this issue shouldn't be so prevalent. Adding to the issues, a new Black Ops Cold War glitch is ruining Gunship Scorestreaks. Players also have issues with Black Ops Cold War's broken weapon camos. Thankfully, we have a new fix for all of Cold War's weapon camo issues.

Intel Chipset Shortage Is Real: Some Boards Could See Price Hikes Chinese media outlet MyDrivers recently reported that Intel's B460 and H410 chipsets are out of stock and could ultimately result in increased motherboard pricing during the first quarter of 2021. We've consulted with our own industry source, confirming that a shortage of lower-end chipsets is taking hold. It's no surprise that the hardware industry is in a rough place right now, and consumers are the ones to suffer. Now, adding to the pain of the ongoing shortages of graphics cards and AMD processors, Intel's B460 and H410 chipsets might not be far behind. To make matters even worse, PCBs and other electronic components necessary for motherboard manufacturing are either out of stock, or the prices have risen substantially. According to MyDrivers, motherboard manufacturers received the last wave of B460 and H410 shipments this month, and supply isn't likely to improve in January. The report says that Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI have adjusted their shipment strategies and will raise pricing. Although the report doesn't provide specifics, MyDrivers claims that ASRock and Biostar are in an even worse situation. While B460 and H410 chipsets might be in a bad place, the supply for Z490 chipsets is tolerable. This is because Z490 is built on the 14nm process node, while the B460 and H410 chipsets are manufactured with the older 22nm process node. The same strategy reportedly applies to Intel's forthcoming 500-series chipsets for Rocket Lake-S, too. The Z590 chipset is rumored to be manufactured with the 14nm process, while the B560 and H510 chipsets come out of the 22nm oven. Intel likely put the previous-gen 22nm chipsets on the backburner so it could build up enough inventory for the looming 500-series motherboard launch, which is rumored to take place at CES 2021. The official Rocket Lake-S launch is rumored to follow later in the first quarter. We've heard through the grapevine that supply for the Z590 chipset will be limited too, although inventory isn't at the point of shortage – all of which is normal surrounding the launch of a new line of chipsets. However, Intel reportedly recommended that its motherboard partners order more B460 and H410 chipsets in advance because supply will be very tight in the upcoming months. There's no definitive timeline on how long the shortage will last, but it may endure throughout the first quarter of 2021.

Telematics and cloud-based analytics can give shippers and pharmaceutical companies vital information. Drugmakers, the US military and shipping giants UPS and FedEx are working together to move millions of doses of COVID-19 vaccines into healthcare facilities across the country, and behind the scenes another set of companies is hard at work keeping those vaccines safe in transit. Firms that specialize in Internet of Things (IoT) sensor and software technology could have a crucial role to play in the cold chain storage required to keep the vaccines intact. One example is Carrier, a global manufacturer of climate control solutions. The company is named for Willis Carrier, who invented the modern air conditioner, but today the name Carrier has a secondary meaning as refrigerated Carrier Pods carry temperature-sensitive cargo to global destinations. "Carrier saw a need arise with the pandemic and quickly developed a solution," said Luca Bertuccelli, director of connected platform solutions for Carrier's refrigeration business. Carrier's Sensitech unit makes temperature indicators and monitoring solutions that are being used in portions of the current vaccine distribution effort, according to the company. Temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius, the required storage temperature for the Moderna vaccine, can be measured by the company's sensors. Its monitoring solution includes a dry ice probe; dry ice is required to maintain the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine at -70 degrees Celsius. Bertucelli said connected sensors can be placed on both the refrigerated containers that carry vaccines and on the medical packages stored inside those containers. The refrigerated containers include telematics to support real-time status updates. Data is processed by the company's Lynx software platform, which leverages Amazon Web Services' IoT, analytics and machine learning capabilities. Machine learning is used to identify issues that could affect cargo, and recommend ways to improve outcomes and avoid potential loss or spoilage. As for the wireless network technology supporting the offering, Carrier officials said the company "will work with different customers to finalize needs for the Pods, but sensors can include cellular connectivity." They didn't provide any more information. Alerts and warnings By using Carrier's product, shippers can find out about potential issues with their cargo by accessing an app that delivers notifications. Bertuccelli said Carrier is working to develop text and email notifications so that shippers can find out about problems without needing to check a special app. Carrier estimates that one of its newly developed Carrier Pods can provide cooling capacity for hundreds of thousands of vaccines. "There are several COVID-19 vaccines in development, and each has its own set of strict requirements," said Mike Hurton, vice president and general manager at Carrier's Sensitech unit. "Our comprehensive monitoring solutions can move with the product enabling drug manufacturers and their distributors to help ensure product quality and compliance." IoT solutions developed by Carrier and others will play a critical role in the effort to vaccinate as many people as possible. Experts say that pharmaceutical companies have reported spoilage rates of up to 20% for other vaccines, and these companies know they can save lives by reducing that percentage with this vaccine. But ensuring safe transit is only one aspect. For example, the combination of location-tracking sensors and cloud-based data analytics could enable drug companies and military logistics personnel to understand how much usable vaccine is available at each target location, and how much is expected to be there in the near future. Combining this data can facilitate the re-routing of shipments in order to fulfill the goal of maximizing the delivery of the vaccine to healthcare providers and vulnerable po[CENSORED]tions.
